This video is about buying a house in Brazil for $128,000. The property is located near the city of Porto Alegre in the state of Santa Catarina. In this video I will show you the house and the garden and how the price of this house compares to average house prices in the area.
About me: I am Swedish and I moved to Brazil over 5 years ago and on my channel I share my experiences of living in the South of Brazil.

Thanks for the video. Yes the house looks very nice for that price. Agree with pretty much all your comments. The front area is more open so you don't feel boxed in like in the back. Is it customary in BZ not to sit at the front ? In this case though it's quite close to the road. Thanks again and I'm impatient to see your next videos !

Very nice house. For someone with dollars this is pretty cheap. You cannot find anything in the US for this price. Please do show apartments.

The house has a Gas Boiler (heater) which supplies hot water for the house and also the stove uses gas. There is no central heating which uses gas. People use air conditioning to heat and cool their houses.

You know, if there is a total nuclear exchange in the northern hemisphere, life wont be easy, but most scenarios by specialists consider civilziation will survive in the southern hemisphere. Southern Brazil would be one of the best places to be. As bombs are not particularly dirty nowadays, consuming most nuclear material in the explosion, the main problem is nuclear winter, reducing sunlight on the surface for over 10 years, reducing global average temperatures by 10C, failing crops and killing 5 billion people of starvation in the northern hemisphere. While the dust will cross the equator, it will take longer, sunlight reduction would be smaller, and anyway, there are very few high latitude places in the southern hemispehere. Lower latitudes will have climatic change but you are applying sunlight reduction over a larger amount of sunlight from the start. They like to have the BBQ in the garage so that you are protected from the rain. But it is a bit of a hassle as you need to park the cars in the driveway or street when you plan to use the BBQ.

@@nordicinvestor Makes more sense but lots of hassle. In that case might as well use the garage as a family room and always leave the cars outside. Is that what most BZians would do ?

@@MarinaLaroche No. First of all, barbecue places are a standard in this brazilian state, not all over Brazil. @@rogeriopenna9014 Thanks for your reply and info provided. With this particular property shown by Nordic Investor, what would BZlians with that budget be more likely to do ? Use the garage as another room or go back and forth with the parking of cars in and out of the garage ?

@@MarinaLaroche barbecues are a sunday thing. Plus, depending on the car parked (like a compact hatch) you probably has enough space to do a barbecue there without removing the car. or the family may have a single car and just park in the other side.
