Can you put the Swaro EL 12x50, the new Vortex UHD's 12x50 and Leica Ultravid 12x50's on tripods and do a comparison? Otherwise it is hard to determine from these video's what's better or what is more suitable for each persons situation. I have a 10 year old pair of Ultravids and I'm not convinced any Vortex optic I have ever looked through is "better". I have buddies with EL's and I am convinced after looking through theirs and using them for awhile that they can make an argument, theirs are "better"/clearer but not by a very discernable measure. I'd like to know how these new ones stack up. Thanks.
No fluorite lenses. I would imagine with every feature they add they have to consider their target price point. I was impressed from the start. I think the 12x50 are going to be the top seller of the UHD line-up. - Cody Nelson, Optics Manager
Having 18 power will look something dark? I have the Zeiss Conquest HD 15x56 are incredible, but I want to buy the model 18x56 for having more power, but my doubt is the darkness for having so much increase.
Its a matter of exit pupil. the 18's will have a 3.1mm exit pupil and the 15's will be 3.73mm. The 15 will get more light to your eye. It comes down do you prefer the power or which one is brighter! - Cody Nelson, Optics Manager
Doing some rifle and archery elk this fall. Suggested size 10x42 or 8x42? Will an average eye like me be able to tell the difference with the old razors HD vs uhh? I feel like if I go uhd I’m just going to go Swarovski el all the way. Thoughts Cody? I currently have vortex diamondbacks 12x50. I really like them but sure enough last elk season got caught spotting elk at low light during sundown and could make out specifics for tines. Decided then I need to upgrade. Thanks for your help! 👍🏻
I like both 8's and 10's for chest glass. I would think about the terrain and vegetation. If you are hunting open or broken terrain you may want the 10x but if you are hunting a lot of dense cover you may want to go with the 8's with their wider field of view. As for the difference between the Razor HD's and UHD. I like both very much but give the edge to the UHD for glass and edge to edge clarity. But I like the HD's because they are smaller and lighter than the UHD's. Yes, could go to the Swarovski EL's but have you considered the Swarovski SLC in 8's or 10's? I would take a close at those as well. - Cody Nelson Optics Manager
Just the warranty for the Vortex, does thats why I have those. If you drop them or bang them against something... And the EL seems much more expensive. I have 10x raver and razor uhd, I cannot recommend them enough
Pretty much wrong. The HD (High dispersion, and not high definition) were the top of the line for 5 or 6 years. The UHD are a different beast. They will NOT substitute the “regular” HD, because they do different things. UHD will have a much better light transmission at the cost of a much larger binos. So, HD and UHD will meet different costumers, looking for different stuff in binos.
@@str3tchr sources me using there products for 20 years and own piles of there equitement. Glass quality has for sure gone down . Could these be there answer I hope so . But I'm not the only one who thinks this. There a middle of the road brand
Dominique Lawson not really. If u look at the msrp and then look online u will see there r some significant discounts and they will only get cheaper. Does seem pretty steep tho
