I'm not sure how long I've subbed this channel now; but I really do enjoy it. 2 years maybe? probably watched for a while before subbing though. I like the pace of the videos. They feel more like a discussion, than an A---> B, then done video. Alomost like a Colombo the Detective show - a "Oh one more thing' Love it They are relaxed, and after a hectic day at work, they smooth out the chaos from the day. They also are interesting / informative, and I am guilty og snagging a few things you have reviewed? or more rather discussed. Thanks again, and I'll continue to watch.
Thanks for the kind words. That is what I enjoy in videos, so I try to make what I would want to watch. I really do see it more as just talking to a friend about tools than making a video. It isn't for everyone as most prefer the "Shorts" sales pitch., but if I watch a video, I want to learn as much as possible and have comparisons presented that I might be able to draw from to make a decision on the item. I'd much rather the person have too much info in a video than a concise, corporate sales pitch. Same with a How To video. If someone wants to learn how to change a torque converter and the video simply states to separate the engine from the transmission" it isn't going to really help the target audience much. Hopefully you will continue to enjoy the videos...thanks again for watching and subscribing.
Just bought this ratchet with a 20% discount. I liked the reviews comparing it to Gearwrench. The deal I got can't be beat and I didn't have a fixed head 1/4 inch.
I was wondering when someone else was going to make a video of the new ratchet! I did the full teardown of the ratchet. I just wonder if pittsburgh line of ratchets with transfer over to this style or if they will stay the same! Good job on the video!
Cool...I will have to check it out. I found the Duralast ratchets...would be interesting to see the internals of the new Quinn, encapsulated Duralast, and then a Gearwrench. That was really my big point of interest...what it ultimately means for their hierarchy...I'm sort of thinking Pittsburgh and Pittsburgh Pro, if they choose to keep that extension, go green/black, this slides in with blue/black and essentially replaces Pittsburgh Pro, and then you've got Icon with the red and black. Real kicker will be if they tweak the Quinn socket sets that have that replica Pittsburgh. They have been adding even more new Quinn stuff so it seems like a total refresh may be happening.
These look very, almost identical to the duralast encapsulated ratchet. Also very close to gearwrench. HF stepping up there game. IMO. Thanks for the video
I was bummed I couldn't find it (I was actually missing 5, ratchets 3 of them pretty expensive). I finally found them all...That is what I get for "cleaning up" and making space for the fixture table, lol.

Yeah. I think they're getting rid of the Pittsburgh Pro name. Change to green and black to differentiate it from Icon. That Quinn has to be an Apex tool ratchet aka Gear wrench if so it's a good value.
That is exactly what I'm thinking on the hierarchy. Out of everything I own and have picked up in recent years, I have zero Gearwrench ratchets...excluding the encapsulated Duralast. It is a really good value, imagine a slight price drop AND a coupon. Really good option for a lot of people.
Pittsburgh pro has too many oddball ratchets i think to get rid of it entirely. The roto heads are there, indexing heads, dual joint, dual joint extended t handle rotohead, fat handle composite and normal shape composite, extendables and dual heads.
I am shocked you didnt realize that the Quinn Ratchet is an Apex tools gearwrench 90 tooth ratchet. I have the 90 tooth gearwrench ratchets, the grip is made exactly the same the head has the bevel around the head, they may have copied the gearwrench but I am pretty sure Apex made them for HF. if they use all of the same grade of material as GW this is a pretty good ratchet. they need some lube and the gear set will sound better. Duralast, husky, also use the Apex line just with quick release on husky and spme i believe with duralast.
Still not seeing 3/8 in store or online. Sad about it! I got the 3/8 Master set and it comes with the same (non comfort grip) 90T ratchet which is amazing. I got the GearWrench 120xp locking flex head in 3/8 but would love a standard 3/8 with the comfort grip.
SK Teardrops and their old fashion ratchets are still made in the USA. They have a line that is made in China as well. Just ordered 3/8 drive set and 1/4 drive set from SK, the american made. Sockets are still top notch and ratchets are SMOOTH. The chinese made ones, are nice, but nowhere near the same as the USA made
I'm just back from harbor frieght. First time seeing this. Was only 1 so I bought it. It's same as the 90T gearwrench (which I also have, collector addiction lol). Quinn has thicker better grip. Quinn=$25. Gearwrench =$40. Bought a 1/4 also. Grips feel very good! Not that slippery rubber. Real good grippy rubber! 👍 what Mopar you have? I have a mint 2016 SRT 392 Go-Mango loaded. Also had a few older too. 2 Cuda" chargers, Belvedere. I build street/strip and race engines.
wonder why the call it "sealed head" when it clearly has a snap ring. I prefer the snap ring so you can open it up and clean/lube, so was happy to see that on this ratchet. Will probably pick one of these up to try out during the next 30 off items under 20$ event
Yeah, that was interesting...seems companies take liberty with a lot of the monikers. It is a solid ratchet, at least here initially, for the price...getting it on sale just makes it a safer bet.

I can't fault you there. I am fine with Icon having a default of black and red, but when they are targeting tool trucks they really need to offer multiple options. They do great with US General and Daytona, no reason they can't offer the same handle in a few different colors...Whether they have it designed for buyers to change handles, or just have you order and ship them from distribution centers. I figured they would have made it happen by now. It is honestly why I don't have more of their ratchets.

Alot of ppl love Icon quality but after I saw a torque test with 3/8" ratchets n somehow the Tekton ratchets gears, paw n anvil all worked after hitting 620+ ft lbs n giving but all the internals continued working a f maxed out at 265+ on the next go around. The damage was the shaft bent like a cheez doodle but straightened in vice put cheater bar on a finally maxed at 260+ like I said. That kinda sold me. Very affordable and easy/fast warranty process. Every other ratchet had a head failure somewhere well B4 that. I love Snappy but not in the budget. KOKEN is up next. Thx for the content, Have a nice day...

We were sitting in the 80s and 90s and then dropped down with a hard freeze into the 20s. Slowly warming back up...weekend should be in the 80s again, lol. Mornings have been pretty cold like you had.
I Love The Quin Line at Harbor Freight. The Only Issue i had with a Quin tool, was the New Bolt Extractor Sockets. They Rounded off after the 1rst. Use. But Im a Harbor Freight Fan.
