In this video we check out Harbor Freight's brand new Titanium Fixture Table. We cover why we bought it, unbox the table, cover the assembly process, and then showcase the finished result. You'll likely see this table utilized in future videos.
My plan was to build a custom welding/fixture table. Due to space constraints, this table fit the bill for what I currently need. In the future, should we add-on to the shop and have room to build our dream table, this can serve as a mobile table, or a really nice surface to mount a vise or bench grinder.
*If you want to get right to the unboxing and assembly, skip to the 12:00 mark. Time Stamps are below.*

Time Stamps and Links
@0:00 Intro
@0:45 Why Buy?
@2:30 Northern Tool's Klutch Fixture Table and Cart
-Northern Tool has had a similar table, and a fancier cart for years
--I want to say the NT has a welded top, where this is bolt on...you can find pros and cons either ay with the top set up
@3:05 Price Points
-Harbor Freight's standard MSRP at launch is much lower than NT...
--The price will possibly drop and I don't foresee any coupon exclusions
---Bottom line, you can get this table for a really good price if you are patient
@3:55 Lucky Stock
-I almost never buy anything at full price, but I was in to snag a rivet gun for work and just happened to see if they had the table in stock...decided to pull the trigger since it was there and a reasonable price
@5:10 Your Plans
-This table is probably a solid option for most DIY/weekend warriors, and automotive performance shops
--It might be lacking for production, or applications that are simply a larger scale
---If I wanted to build fence gates, or large tables...this would be a bad standalone choice
---If I want to weld v-bands, this is a great size
@5:50 Expansion Options
@6:30 My Original Plans
@7:05 Standard Work Bench Solution
-This would be great for mounting a vise, bench grinder, sander, etc.
@7:25 Why No Dream Table?
-Space...literally just space constraints
@8:30 Other Options
-Once you get out of the sub-$300 range you can graduate to some much larger and stouter tables
@9:13 Specs: Weight and Dimensions
@10:15 Table Top Option
-This would compliment someone wanting a fixture table who already has a big welding table
@12:00 Dimension Recap
@12:25 In the Box
@12:59 Table Top Packaging
@13:35 Box Contents
@14:30 Table Top Profile
-Definitely okay for light duty, but not beef cake status
@14:51 Ernst Tray for Hardware
@15:05 Hardware Specs and Tools Needed
@15:51 Short Leg Assembly
-Outboard Holes
@16:40 Long Leg Assembly
-Inboard Holes
@17:17 Box for Table Protection
@17:48 Leg Brace Assembly
-Went with Slot 2...will tweak based on how I like the TIG Welder's footswitch placed
@18:43 Level Check (No Feet)
-Figured I'd check it just for the heck of it
--Not sure if I will run casters, or build a platform for it
@20:25 Shard Cut
-I'm editing this a week later and that has bothered me all week...
@20:50 Assembly Tip
-Assuming you watch this BEFORE buying and assembling the table...make a point to blow debris out of the top frame
@21:44 Table Adjustment
-The benefit of this being bolted on and not welded is that you could potentially adjust for any warpage and shim if needed
@22:30 Deburr
-I noticed a few holes with rough edges...I would deburr the top after assembly and before use to avoid issues
@23:41 Included Tooling
-Really nice to have this included with the table
@24:30 Tools for Clamps
@25:50 Recap and Immediate Plans
-Bought this to teach myself to TIG Weld
@26:45 Think Before You Buy
-This could be a great table, or a bad fit..it just depends what you plan to do
@27:19 Potential Mods
-Casters, Pegboard, Shelf
@28:28 Feet Installed
-Forgot to mention that earlier
@28:45 Sheet Metal Shelf
@29:10 Plenty of Space for V-Bands
-Again, something like that makes this table a great option...building gates is NOT good for a single table like this
@29:50 Nice for the Price
@30:10 Should Work with Other 5/8" Fixtures
@31:34 Your Thoughts
@33:00 Tight Holes
-Again, I suggest you deburr before using the table
@34:00 Similar Table Experience?
@34:15 Why Buy
-To me, this is an important aspect to include in a video
@34:30 Initial Impression
@34:40 Conclusion

How about buying a second one just for the top & double up the table thickness. Would of course need longer machine screws to fasten down both plates, I would use torx head.

2:30... Northern Tool and Eastwood have alot of identical to Harbor Freight tools.. not so much the hand tools but shop tools and accessories I think these are 1/8" thick..good for fixturing..but you're not going to beat on it..but for under $ 200 you can't beat it 🏁

Yeah, very true. I would have bought the Klutch one a few years ago, but decided I wanted something custom and bigger. Now I'm sort of space constrained and it fit the bill...HF coming in $30 less kind of sealed it. The NT cart is nice as well...I figure HF will do something similar given how well this has fared in such a short time.

I wonder when they will actually have them in stock. The Northern Tool Klutch brand is available, I wonder if they are compatible for expansion, putting 2 or 3 together

looks like a very decent product for the price

Agreed...especially considering this was bought at MSRP. If they do their typical price adjustment after launch and someone stacked a coupon, it would be really hard to go wrong.

I have this suuuper solid all steel table but it does not have a top. I think I can buy 6 of these and mount them to my steel table. I "think" that would be more affordable than buying a 4x6 or 4x8 top only somewhere else. I need to check. I think Certiflat is cheapest for around 1200$.
@boosted2.4_sky
@boosted2.4_sky 8 месяцев назад
If you're gonna get 6 of these then get the Certiflat...pretty close to the same price and Certiflat makes these exclusively Harbor Freight buys them from someone who makes a hundred different things and probably doesn't do any great...Certiflat does welding tables great...just my $0.2...👍

You can get a 4x8 sheet pretty reasonably...I'd get that, or a 5x8 and cut it to what you want on the framework. Then you have a great work bench and the option to pick your thickness, drill your own holes, or just pick one of these up and use it in table top mode. If I was going to be doing anything more than heads/exhaust with this, I would have gone a different route. Really depends what you want to do...if it is small stuff, one of these works...if it is big, I'd want something substantial and one-piece. Check out the new Dragon Wagon at Fireball Tool...might be overkill since you have a framework already, but gives you an idea what you can do in a close price range. I actually built a welding table years ago, but it became a workbench and is now where you see me film most of the videos, lol. Good luck!

Oh ok. All I know is i need a fixture table but the 5x8 I looked at were all like 5K. Was thinking the HF route would have been cheaper. But yall mentioned a few that may work better for me. So I appreciate that.@@lonestarmopars

@boosted2.4_sky why you gotta give your 20¢, when everybody else just gives $0.02? Just bustin’ yer ballz…

People have to realize that when you clamp to the top of the table, you don’t have to use gorilla arms. You really just have to tighten the clamp enough to hold it from moving. After that, more pressure does nothing. I had a Grizzly for three years until I bought my Sigmund. Basically the same top. I used standard 16mm clamps. They tilt a bit more than on a thicker table, but it’s fine, just don’t over tighten and it will be ok. The Grizzly was rated for 300 pounds. This says 600, but honestly, I can’t imagine putting 600 pounds on this table. Say it’s also 300 pounds, evenly distributed. If you put a 150 pound lump of metal in the center of the table, you WILL over burden the table. It’s likely 16mm rather than 5/8”. This is made in China and everything around the world is metric. HF may call it 5/8” just because we’re here in the USA and they figure the people buying this inexpensive table won’t understand 16mm. Get a 16mm shoulder bolt and see if it fits in the holes. It likely will. Trying to find real 5/8” accessories will be hard.

It is also useful for clamping wood and such together for gluing. Something to consider for the welding snobs.
