I keep watching this video. I watched it on TV and was blown away. I had never heard of her. I just learned tonight she and Shooter Jennings were helping (well they were the driving forces) Tanya Tucker come up with a new album.
Love her! She now has won her 10th Grammy recently!! Give her album In These Silent Days a listen, I was blown away there’s not a bad song on the entire album
Brandi is the best singer and performer in the world Brandi is so beautiful talented and kind I give her a million thumbs up I love you Brandi 😉👍♥️♥️♥️
She is fabulous singing country songs, but we also need to hear her sing other genres. I went to a concert at the Hollywood Bowl. The only way it could have been better is if she had performed Creep, which is totally different from her perfect performance of Over the Rainbow. Country Music fans were too slow in accepting Brandi; so, It is good that she expanded her repertoire. I would love to buy an album of her perfoming just country songs, but I would also buy an album of any of her covers.
I agree that she is really good but "making a Patsy Cline song her own" I don't think so. no one can do that. Miss Patsy Cline is one of a kind. I'm sure Brandi would agree.
Wish we could hear more from this amazing woman. She sang that song better than anyone!! Gave me chills!! Brandi, please release more singles! What a beautiful voice.❤️
Brandi has a phenomenal voice. She has such a passion for true classic country music. But more importantly the passion for women in country music and to let all women they have a place in the industry.
When a vocalist sings a classic like this I don’t expect them to make it sound like the original, but I do expect them to bring the same level of soul or more than the original artist did. Mission accomplished! 👍
DAMN!!!! I just became a Brandi Fan, 3 of the greatest 1 sad song and they all nailed it and knocked it out of the park Patsy, Loretta and now Brandi going down in history . RIP Loretta
@ashley1994 - Haters are gonna Hate Jealous much? Maybe you should remain quiet about that which you don’t understand. First off, her name is spelled Brandi Carlile with an “i” not a “y” and capital “B” and “C”. Not sure why you didn’t capitalize. I think the word you were attempting to use was “unnecessarily.” Her music encompasses many genres not solely pop. She has received nine Grammy Awards and earned 25 Grammy nominations. She was the most nominated woman at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards. She is far from being a “no talent pop star.” Don’t even get me started on the legendary Loretta Lynn, and again that “L” should have been capitalized. Not sure why you didn’t. She helped pave the way and open doors for women in country music and is one of the most awarded women in country music history. What have you done? Oh, you attempted to call someone out when your errors were much more egregious. I don’t understand why some women tear other women down instead of building them up. There should be a “Sis” code among us. Stay in your lane, and be quiet when you have nothing accurate or positive to add.
It never fails, any song Brandi covers she absolutely nails it. Every freaking time. Doesn't matter the song or the artist, she nails it every freaking time. I've probably seen every song she has covered that is on RU-vid. By the end of each song that song belongs to her. Never fails.
@@awoogala My comment concerned her talent not her recognition within the country music community. Brandi's genre is not Country, it's Americana and Rock. I doubt seriously if she is losing any sleep over not being recognized by the Country music community, to date she has won nine Grammys. I also doubt that "they strut her out to perform." Brandi seems very independent minded and probably doesn't do anything she doesn't want to, unless it's at the request of her very beautiful wife Katherine or the two equally beautiful daughters they have,. Besides Brandi loves to perform. If only one person showed up to see her perform she would belt it out for two hours straight to entertain that single fan. The Country fan base is predominately straight, conservative, and Christian. It is opening up somewhat but it still has a long way to go. They practically disowned Chely Wright when she came out a decade ago but now you've Lily Rose belting out the heartbreak she's had over previous girlfriends. Things do change, just not as fast as we would like most times. So what if they give their awards to the poppy blond girly girls, it's their lose for not recognizing the more talented members of their genre.
@@kk33613 I totally agree with you! K.D Lang and Melisa suffered the same. I've always asked what the heck your gender or sexual orientation has to do with bringing music to and for the soul. And Brandi does it through her songwriting and her voice. Look what she did for Tanya Tucker (who was blonde and girly decades ago) recently and all the other artists she had taken under her wing. Brava to Brandi!
What a magnificent singer Brandi Carlile is. I always loved the Beautiful tone in her voice when singing. Well done Brandi WOW 🎤🎼🎶🎵👏👏 sending this from my home Country Ireland 🇮🇪 ☘️☘️☘️
@@kelvinscott6964 yes I did and that was the 1st time I ever heard sing. She's going to do a concert in George Washington. I was a young girl 9 years pld when my family and I moved to quincy washington.
This version of She's Got You is a tribute to my two favorite ladies in country music Patsy Cline & Loretta Lynn. God Bless them both for wonderful music they have left us.
Brandi did a good job on this. I liked when Loretta did it too but everyone is forgetting that this was not Loretta's song originally. It was her dear friend, Patsy Cline's, song
I actually only knew this song as Patsy’s. 🫢 I couldn’t think of Loretta without thinking of Patsy so to me, it just further acknowledges the bond they had. 💕 Brandi did the song justice despite the lyric glitch
amazing that she is "country" when any country star needs someone to hit their notes or do their songs justice, but not when awards are being given out.
News Flash.. This was originally sung by the Late Great Patsy Cline...Loretta may have covered it years later, but it's Lorettas' BFF ( Patsy Clines') song. Patsy recorded for the vinyl in 1962. Patsy died the following year March 5, 1963.. I Love Loretta! I bought my first album of hers called Don't Come Home A'drinking in 1967..
I wish I could call this a 5/5 performance but she messed up the lyrics in the beginning and I couldn’t get passed it. Her vocals were definitely spot on though.
Multiple, multiple albums. Her 2018 album By The Way I Forgive You was nominated for 6 Grammys (won 3) & the 2019 album totaled 10 Grammy nominations (3 were last year; 7 are still pending). Those are just 2 albums to get you started. 👍
@@vickiego1Hi Vicki, can you please tell me the name of the 2019 album that you are referring to? I'm late to the party as usual. 😢 I've been going to start my research on Brandi for a while now, just haven't had a chance yet. I'm really liking her!! Thank you for your time.
She is definitely good. She tripped up a little bit at first saying "She's got your picture...."she's got you". I think it should have been "i've got your picture...she's got you". I like her but no one will ever compare to Patsy Cline, No One!
