The Golden State Warriors front office is reportedly looking to bring in some new pieces in the 2024 offseason, but some familiar faces could also be stepping into bigger roles. With Klay Thompson's future with the organization uncertain as free agency approaches, who could start at the 2 spot next season? @@Kdfamilyman71he plays more like a pg then a sg. He is like Divinciezo but with better passing and ball handling but less athleticism. He makes great decisions when on ball. The only thing he lacks is 3 point shooting and free throw percentage to be a great back up point. And I think he can develop that this of season.

No, he was draft as a combo guard. Moody was draft as a shooting guard. And Moody is way better than Podz.

Podz is not that good. He is good rebounder and sometimes he can shoot but dude isn’t as good as Vin or moody stop that cap. He passing is alright and he can’t do any lay ups with his right hand.. did ya forget that easy as lay up he smoked with his right. Dude is a decent roll player that’s it.

moody replaces klay. podz replaces cp3. and kuminga can replace wiggins. that's what i see if those 3 are gone. wiggins and cp3 has to go reagardless. they are in the way of the young talent growing and they are paid too dam much for what they do. wiggins i dont know what personal issues he has and i dont care. he has a job and is paid to do that job. he is not doing that job

Moody is a better floor spacer, point of attack defender. These 2 abilities were Klay’s best skills. So it is easy for me to start Moody if we are talking about someone taking Klay’s starting role.

First of all Podz in not really a 6'4" guy, if see him with Stephen Curry they almost the same height. Stephen Curry is more like a 6'2.75" height and Podz is more like a 6'3.75" height. Podz is just 6'5.5 wingspan and a 8'05" standing reach, that is to small for a shooting guard in a contention team in today nba, he was a combo guard but that was in college. In the NBA that us to small, you wonder why teams were killing the warriors in the perimeter. On the other hand Moody Moody is an authentic 6'5" with with a 7'1" wingspan and a 8'9" standing reach. Moses Moody is a authentic Shooting Guard that have a wingspan like a forward. On the other hand people have not do their homework. If we are going to compare who should start between Moody and Podz, here is some stats. Podz thanks to Kerr have start in 28 games their record was 17 and 11 in those games that 60.71 % winning record. On the other hand with Moses moody as a starter he play 9 games with a record of 6 and 3 that is a 66% win record. Then you go to the stats as starters per 36 minutes to be fair. Podz score 11.4 points per game with a 42.9 FG% and a 33.6 3 point%. On the other hand Moody as a starter score 18.3 points per game with 51.9 FG% and a 39.5 3 point%. The 3 point percentage is 4 of the team as a starter. Curry is 40.8 and Klay is 37.7 percentage. Moody have better all around scoring FG and 3 Point % better than podz and klay. In Defense Moody is a better on bal defender than Podz and klay. Podz is more like Klay a spot shooter, and in similar to klay, both can't create their own shot. On the other hand if you se Moody play, he is a spot 3 point shooter and a on ball shooter, even has a step back 3 point shot like steph and luka. Just wath the games. Moody is more athletic and explosive than klay and podz, he can drive to the basket and dunk or get foul. Stats and eye test don't lie. You can not compare Moody to podz or klay if you give Moody the klay or podz minutes he can deliver. Do you remember how good Moody defend Brunson or Luka? Do you remember the fiasco that Kerr did to Moody against portland or the last game of the season against sacramento? Moody was the best player in that game. If the warriors want to be better next season they need to Start Moody, kuminga and TJD with steph and draymond.

Moody is a victim of kerr’s love of small guys. We look at his stats, a lot of which were tanked cause of consistent garbage time 2 minute nights and say he can’t be this or that. The best indicator is to look compare each player when they’ve started. In which, Podz looks like Draymond (in all facets except defense) and moody looks like he can be a pre-injury Klay type of player for the team. It’s an obvious choice but the glamour of charges hypnotizing people into thinking a team defender is better than POA defense that the fans have been complaining about all season. Also, it’s not like moody hasn’t all gotten a good amount of charges this year, but yes now down to the charge king🙇🏾‍♂️

No he’s not. Moody was the victim of better players being ahead of him. Klay, Wiggins, and GP2 all were better than him and contributed majorly towards a championship . Moody has never looked like pre injury klay at any point. He’s a solid role player. It seems like you’re trying to down play podz even though he’s better at everything other than POA defense

When you go back and watch these games, how many of these guys can you actively played better than moody to keep their time over him this season. That championship is 2 seasons old now if we’re awarding minutes based on the past then neither Kuminga, moody, Podz, or TJD should have seen the floor this season.

@@ninerempire3398 I couldn't disagree more. Remember the Kings game at the start of the season? Moody was on fire, but Kerr yanked him to play Klay and CP3, then had to apologize for it. Since then, Moody has been riding the bench. Ironically, the same thing happened in the last game of the season against the Kings. Moody played 15 minutes and scored 16 points, but didn't finish the game. Klay played 35 minutes and scored 0. Moody's issue isn't his skillset; it's Kerr's decisions. And let's not forget the FIBA Cup 2022, where Kerr made Reaves the focal point over Haliburton and Ant. Just saying.

@@Iguessitsme I don’t think he can be that . I see him as a higher scoring danny green which is a good player. He’s not that type of shooter , klay is the second best shooter ever. I see moody as a solid shooter . And U just think all those players are better than moody, that’s all it is. We needed podz ball handling and we were just a better team with him playing, we needing JK’s athleticism and scoring, and we needed TJD because we don’t have a big like him with his athleticism/rim protecting ability. I just don’t think moody is better than the people that were ahead of him. I think he can be a championship rotation player tho

@@yolomondo what if the coaching staff just doesn’t think he is good enough to beat out those players ? He has flashes here and there but I see him as just a valuable role player on a good team. He can play good defense , hustles hard, and can knock down jumpers at a solid rate . I just don’t see the upside with him

If Klay leaves and nobody comes in, the warriors are done. Steph would have no room to breathe and the job would be that much harder at 36. People need to get real. Neither of these guys left on the roster would provide what Klay brings just being on the floor. People don't understand basketball and understand Steph's game. It would be the beginning of the end for the warriors and people can then come back to reality on what the core has brought to the warriors for 10+ years.

Spot on man, without Klay its even more hard for Steph. The Warriors need a threat down low to offset what klay brings on the court. No one ever can replace except maybe Kuminga when he plays consistently and improved his perimeter offense or outside shoting close to 50% or over 50%

I guess you didn't see how good they looked when Poole started in the beginning of the year when Klay was out. They had a better record. Curry looked like he was having more fun and had pressure taken off him. They 100% need a guy that takes ball pressure off Curry now.

Hear me out as I think out of the box a bit. If Klay moves on (or even if he doesn’t), consider Wiggins at the 2. This gives you a starting five of Steph, JK at 3 Dray at 4 and TJD at 5. Podz backs up Steph and Moses backs up Wigs at the 2. You instantly get bigger and more athletic. Your bench is stronger and more flexible too. Everyone is ready to move on from Wigs but I think not so fast. Can you get the value for him? I don’t think so. Still need another big or two and who backs up Draymond? Any of the young guys? IDK. Thoughts?

It's very easy to me. Moses is the bigger, more impactful defender. He's also just as good a shooter and maybe more adept at getting his own shot. Podz is best suited as a backup combo gaurd. Sometimes with Steph, but mostly subbing for Steph.

@@ninerempire3398 I think this is similar to the argument of Kyrie vs Steph. Kyrie(Podz) has more moves but Steph(moody) is more effective in his moves. Moody is a closer comparison to what Klay was and shown the ability to shoot well in tighter windows than Podz but Podz can create space off the bounce better. The aggression as a scorer and spacer is Podz issue which is why Klay came back to a starting role after less than 15 games.

I am really happy that Kylen is doing Locked On Warriors. Such refreshing professionalism and clarity. I did like the previous host for his passion and intensity-but it got in the way sometimes as his delivery would be full of mistakes, technical problems like talking for 10 minutes with no sound, constant hate for Kerr. Now I understand that passion-and I think he knows his basketball-but I’m happy with how even keel Kylen delivers this podcast. Lots of sports knowledge from a former athlete.

Moody better point of attack defender and Podz is a better team which when Draymond is in the game you already have a over rotating player in Dray, sometimes it looked like a mess of over rotating. Podz and Draymond they kind of do the same thing, connecter on the court. Free Moody or let him go. Kerr has talked up Moody for three years but still does give him a chance. It’s his 4th year, play him or trade him.. If I Moody, I don’t resign here. #FREEMOODY.

These numbers are averages from each players starts this past season and no one has to check it out but might as well have some kind of idea how they do when starting rather than only going off imperfect human memory and bias. Podz(28 starts): 30 min, 9.5 pts, 6.3 rbd, 4 ast, 1 stl, 43% fg, 34% 3fg% on 3.7 attempts Moody(9 starts): 25 minutes, 12.6 pts, 3.7 rbd, 1.4 ast, .8 stl, 52%fg, 40% 3fg% on 4.2 attempts

If you compare those stats by 36 minutes, Moody stats are way better than Podz Stats. And if you look at all the hustle stats and Defense Moody is also better. The people that wants Podz over Moody are Kerr fans and apologist.

Its not hypothetical, remember Podz always play more minutes than Moody, so it would not be fair to compared averages. If Moody play the same minutes as Podz. Moody average would be way higher than Podz. That means hlw more impact player is Moody compare to Podz in the same condition. Per 36 minutes Moody scoring as a starter its 4 best in the team with 18.3 points per game. Steph score 29.1, Kuminga 21.3 Thompson 20.8 and Moody 18.3. And the hypothetical is important, because the hypothetical its more like a reality, how more points Kuminga and Moody could score if Kerr creates more plays for them and not so much to curry. Then kerr put Green as a starter so he can make all the passes to curry. And right now they just have one system, make all the passes to curry. In this new offensive NBA, they can't win if they din't create more offensive option for other players. Just watch the celtics and dallas and denver among a few.

Wrong question. Podz is a 1, not a 2. He should be Steph's backup. Moody is the starting 2. GP is the backup 2.

Podz can get those charges off the bench. They need more offense in the starting lineup you do not need two non volume scorers starting in the lineup that’s not gonna cut it. If he can get his scoring up then yeah but his game is not sg at all. He’s more of floor general type than an electric, quick handle, scoring machine. Moses game kinda reminds me of klay in his younger years but not quite a knockdown defender like klay just yet. They’re missing a player like Jordan Poole someone that give 20-30 on a giving night to open the floor for Steph and other players. And a big that can play on the wing that shoot 3 and be somewhat of a defender. That is the recipe for the warriors success.

West is crazy! Even if Wiggins, Klay and Green plays like all stars they are likely not going past 2nd round. Best for them is to trade those 3 and sign some fresh BLOOD

brandin podz is not a starter point blank , he is too small, average scorer, average three point shooter, very good rebounder, good playmaker, he should come out of bench , he is not ready.

Podz has said in more than one interview that he considers himself a l point guard and I agree. If he ever becomes a starter its because can run the team. Although Moody was drafted as a two guard he plays more like a 3&D wing. Moody over Podz at 2 but neither one is really ideal IMO.

Jaylin Williams of the Thunder led the league in charge calls year before last as a rookie. Last year he seldom got a charge call. Basing Pods starting on charge calls might not pan out.

Shout out to Santa Cruz Warriors!! What's the deal with Jackson Rowe? If the Warriors are desperate for a stretch 4, why didn't they ever give Rowe a chance? For anyone who doesn't know Rowe is taller than Draymond Green, super long arms, and only shot 36% on threes while shooting over 6 per game, but he could definitely shoot better with better players around him and better spacing. I think he has potential to fill a big need.

Locked on warriors it’s not Brandon nor mosses big issues in this team is no 22 Wiggs !!!!!! It don’t matter as long as Wiggins get that much of minutes to play last year and before warriors not going to play off period! For you guys keep making this warriors RU-vid off season I respect that however it’s not Klay no 1 Wiggs got to go! If you as so call locked on warriors not seeing I baffled simple baffled really??? U guys are dreaming ….. Boston won cause they have multiple consistent 3pts shooters, consistent players!!!! Get some solid consistency players in golden state is the answer!!!!!!!! Mosses and P not an issue !!! Issue here is to bring young growing hungry consistent players and big rim protecter! BP and mosses solid as a second unit

It puzzles me how everyone dismissis Wiggins and I do understand but nobody stops to think how well he was playing and why that was🤔 he played a lot more on ball before klay came back from injury and was really good a legit second option he hasn't been so effective the way they have used him sense 🤷‍♂️

BP had a great rookie year unexpectedly , now I want to see him perform well in Summer League and put together a better year 2 in the NBA and that will tell us a lot about what he will be in this league!

the warriors have not made any moves its not looking good. in reality if they don't get another scorer, they are toast because those two aint it and even though klay is inconsistent we do know when he's on fire he's on fire.

Podz too small and can’t shoot, and can’t create his own shot!!! If podz starts that would be a lack of spacing and Steph would get blitzed!!! We’ve seen this before! Moody is simply not capable of replacing Klay production as a threat from the 3 point line… and he doesn’t have a good feel for the game. Moody missed easy passes all the time. As a result he doesn’t see the floor as good! That probably explains why Steve Kerr doesn’t like playing him, especially with the motion offense. Warriors should bring Klay back on a 3 years 70, 23mil per and get out the tax apron and trade the youth and picks for better role players like we had in 2015. To maximize Steph window!! We need size and better talent… and spacing which the warriors lack!!! So getting rid of Klay shouldn’t be an option from a basketball standpoint!! Let’s just hope he can do a team friendly to get under the tax apron, so we can get a mid level exception players and also have more flexibility to make trades…. Let’s maximize the final 2 years of Steph curry with a real shot of winning, with proven players!!

With Clay the team didn't make the playoffs, so if one of the younger players don't emerge as a breakout double double player, just feel lucky to be in the play-in again.
