The Fractured Legacy Of Kevin Durant

When we look back at the all time greats like LeBron, Kobe, Steph, Dirk and Giannis. They all had moments where they had meltdowns and had times of failure. There were narratives being told about their legacies and they had something to prove to everyone and they found the will to win on their own terms and each of them had their defining moment for their careers on the biggest stage that will forever be viewed in a positive way and that is what made them legends. But for KD, he has had amazing moments on the biggest stage but he has never had his defining moment for his career. His legacy will be viewed differently to many as someone who joined the greatest regular season team of all time after losing to them in a winnable series. A player who won titles but they were never viewed as “real championships”. Someone who left a team that was able to win before and after his departure and a player who failed to win without a superteam. So while Durant is a 2x Champion, he paid the ultimate price that would leave his legacy when it is all said and done…Fractured.

If he got all 3 chp., he hurt his legacy w/ his thin skin antics, moving around, and creating a team of Big 3 in NJ that crashed and burned! IMO it's Karma for someone who was wanted by GS, stroked his ego, paid him big time, but it wasn't enough! It was Curry's team so winning wasn't enough! That's fk'd up thinking in the head, but he isn't the only one doing this stupid shit! Tyreek Hill left KC/Mahomes to go to Miami for $$ losing out on 2 Super Bowls! This story is all too common w/ athletes caring more about their egos & money than actually winning! Such idiots! ;-)

Nah...the most damaging part is that KD getting known as a coach killer and 2K-GM that talks front offices and owners into stupid trades... happened in BKN (Harden) and Coach Steve Nash happened in PHX (Beal) and Coach Frank Vogel Dude is an idiot that only wants to play Iso-Ball not realizing that this does not work in the playoffs...Especially in Phoenix, a team with no playmaking whatsoever. Why is every shot difficult against the Wolves? No point guard and the predictability of their offense. Why can't the Suns get any stops? Cause you're playing Useless Nurkic and and the g-league all stars alongside Durant, Booker and the corpse of Beal.

What people forget is that in 5 years since leaving Golden State, KD has literally won no individual titles or awards. No 1st Team All NBA, No finals appearances, no MVP,. Nothing. KD literally made one All NBA 2nd team in 5 years. That's it! Steph on the other hand has won a title, FMVP, scoring title, ASG MVP, 3 point, 1st Team All NBA... This proves that Steph was the bus driver at GSW.

Most people think that the Steph-KD warriors was KD's team. However, as Charles Barkley aptly put it, he was just a bus rider. KD may have been the best player on that team, but Steph was the leader and the core of that team. KD's talent is undeniable, but I think he will be remembered as the guy who followed LeBron's brueprint of forming superteams but did not have as much success.
@Rayven2711
@Rayven2711 7 дней назад
IMO the teams KD was on, except for the GSW, all had the same issue. Yes, you are right about KD not being a leader but neither were his teammates and thats where his career went south. You could argue that KD has played with some of the most skilled players in NBA history and only has 1 NBA Finals in 2012 (not counting his time with the Warriors) to show for. OKC - Westbrook, Ibaka, Adams BKN - Harden, Kyrie PHX - Booker, Beal None of these players are Batman...due to cap restrictions there were very little Alfreds (capable Roleplayers) on KD's teams. Just a lot of Robins and after leaving GSW just Robins that barely play any defense. Also KD teams seem to struggle a lot with chemistry issues, which is another reason for limited success.

KD should've just stayed in Golden State and Gotten his jersey retired there cause rn Idk which franchise will ..,After the Raptors loss and the amount of change and injuries the warriors underwent no one was still going to consider the warriors An Unbeatable Super team like they did before,Any rings won after that would've had a lot more value and weight because we'd finally seen that warriors team fall apart and saw how worn out their previous dominance had left their bodies but nope dude decided to leave ,As a Stephen Curry fan I love that he left and Steph could finally get his Finals MVP but as a Warriors fan and a fan of KDs ,it's sad to see how KD career played out cause of that one decision

Nah, they saw how OP the warriors are when they took KD from the okc. One loss would not have changed that in the eyes of the people specially if they win the next years after. Kd should have stayed in OKC and tried to win leading the team. He had a good chance too considering the team that he was leading had a 3-1 lead against 2016 warriors. Joining them was the weakest sh*t he ever did and it ruined his career.

I’m an “old head” when it comes to the NBA. To make an 1980s comparison, Kevin Durant joining Golden State would be like Michael Jordan joining either the Celtics or Pistons in the 1980s. That would have been unheard of back then. Jordan would have never even considered joining either team. On the other side, both Bird and Isiah would have never signed off on that either. Unfortunately, things changed when LeBron went to Miami. Players wanted to take shortcuts and form super teams. I’m glad that super team era is dying out now.

The thing I think everyone underrates about KD is his absolute *love* of the game. It's why I'm such a fan and why it's so fun to watch him play. I couldn't be more bummed about him, Harden and Westbrook not taking that final step to win the first of a few chips. That would have put him in the GOAT conversation like Kobe. Easily one of the best scorers of all time. It's like you used Kobe as a mold, stretched him out, and made him better at shooting 3s. Just didn't have things go his way/have the resilience to overcome his teams circumstances.

KD will try to weazle his way out of Phoenix to join another contender...that he can ruin again by talking the frnt office into stupid moves.

Ahhh the NBA, where u sign a 5 year contract with a team and by the end of that 5 years you've been on 4 different teams.

Im so tired of the cancel culture. Kevin Durant Legacy is what it is already the things he accomplished in the past is cemented already. Nobody says kobe & Jordan legacy is " fractured" or " tainted " for not making the playoffs in their last years. Wizards Jordan was Nowhere to be found in the playoffs or kobe in his 17 win season. Content creators are so toxic

I disagree with you I think if you win a championship you are are a champion doesn't matter if you are on a superteam or not if you contribute to a championship team you are a champion regardless of what stupid people on the internet think of you or not.
