It's hard to get old when you love this way of life!Thank so much for sharing. I'M 72 year's still ride and team rope when I can.Going to a branding this weekend.
I just wanted to tell that of all the ranching channels that I watch Drifters is the one I enjoy the most. I would love to ride with y’all. I love the country that you a ride in and the laid back approach and family involvement that is included in the videos. Thanks.
What a beautiful cactus flower. That was stunning ❤. Your having a good loading cow time, gotta like that..work smarter not harder always works for me...interesting using gps collars, technology is coming a long way. But you gotta love that one cow that doesn't want to cooperate. Teaches what to do better..awesome week, miss that burning hair corral times, chuckle.. the country you work in is just beautiful to see..Great life❤
My FIL was a prospector from Price. Your videos sure remind me of the time I was in Utah, my hubby by helped every summer with the assessment work on the claims.⛏️ That sure is beautiful country.
Another great Sunday video. Enjoyed seeing the watch towers, and the deep canyon. Such awesome country you get to work in and so appreciate you sharing with us. Mesa work out went well:) really enjoy watching you work the cattle and handle the horses. Long live cowboys😊
Another great show fellas! It's so nice seeing the country you ranch in. So different from up here in Saskatchewan. Grass is just starting to grow a little here. Ice came off the lakes and sloughs about 5 days ago. Thx for the video! See you next week.
Well cowboys hello great video Iam a lot late sorry A about that cavs looks great A good looking heard I have been sick so I will be getting off here now every body looking good 💯 don't work too hard be safe take care God bless to everyone your friend Billy
Absolutely the best way to start a new week!! We love the music...especially the opening!! We love seeing different country and yours is just beautiful! We have and love a good cow horse. Best dog I've ever had was a Catahoula. Guess it's easy to see why we love your channel!! Thank You...
Mesa is looking good! What a good boy! What a scary drive along those cliffs with the horses!😂 You guys are brave! Definitely this is my favorite RU-vid channel!
Throughly enjoyed this episode. Punched a few cows, way back in younger years. Appreciate your story line filming. Was interesting, seeing your inner tube stretch ropes for handling calves. Plus having the youngsters involved. Thanks for sharing.
All of the horses did very well. Starting Mesa went very well. I agree that genetics play a big role in how easy the horse is to train. Thanks for sharing your videos.
Great video this week, really showed the grit of what it takes to do that kind of work. From branding to trying to find cows in the middle of no where! It really does take a good community to get the job done. I appreciate the authentic content💪🏼
Again a great and very varied video from you. So nice to see how you start your young horses with calm and serenity. Charging the calf and letting the mother follow her instincts was a great idea. I'm always happy to see you, you're a great team
Just found your videos! I live in East Tennessee knoxville area. If you follow college football it is the home of The Vols! The Big Orange! All my life I have wanted to live the life you live. Always said I was born in the wrong era! Grew up watching westerns with my Dad and as a kid would put myself in the movies. Only thing was I have always lived in the city about as far away from your life as anyone could be. One can always dream though. You guys have the hardest job in the world in my opinion. Will keep watching and waiting for “next week”
Awesome video. That John’s canyon is very cool you guys got some great scenery shots. Mesa done very well in the round pen for not being rode for 6 months 👍
Greet views and good ride along . Shawn what was the HWY # the cattle were on? Weather down here in TX has been wet and more on the way . The first week of May is looking wet . And that’s a good thing .
Did you go back and get the calf that the mother died. I live in Pa. But born and raised in Texas . I really enjoy your videos and never miss a one. I am 82 years old and remember when I was younger we had cows and calves it was a hard day when we had to dehorn and band the calves good luck and God Bless
Hello 1880 Drifters which methods do you guys follow when starting your horses? Do you guys ever lunge your horses? Let's Go Drifting. That is cool to see Horses in the back of a pickup truck. I have never seen that before till you guys channel. Do any of you guys use the Mecate Style reins like the old Vacaros long ago? If it is Spring Work time on Ranches you ain't No Cowboy.
hi Gerard, we got your letter. Thank you so much!!! The top brand is called Triple T, it is our horse brand. The other was just the brand of trailer. Thanks for watching, have a great week
We would have, but did not really have a good way to get them in the truck when we were hauling the horses. We are going to start using them more now that the calves are a little bigger. I don't like using them with little calves. Thanks Mark
Those collars belong to our neighbors and are on their cows. The are the first to use them in our area and so we are all waiting to see how they work. I am not sure of the name, but they are a GPS tracking collar as well as an electric fence collar, so they actually shock the cows when they get in areas that they are not suppose to be in. They hook together with a light weight chain and D rings
Just curious, why didn't you take that calf with you who's mother had died? You said you would pick it up on a day or 2, wouldn't it be dead by then? With no mother and no milk?
Hi Jessica, thanks for the question. What is amazing about those little baby calves is, that they can survive something like that. The mother cow had been dead at least 3 weeks and some how that little guy was still going. We did go get him the next day, when we could get the trailer closer to him. I brought him home and put him in a little pen with grass in it. He would not drink milk so we are trying to get him to start eating alfalfa hay, but he prefers the grass so we hope he can make it. Thanks for watching and thanks for checking on that little calf
That is incredible that he was ali 3 weeks with no mother!!! How?!?! Unbelievable! Thanks for taking time to answer me! Sure do enjoy your videos. Love when you show various artifacts and scenery ❤@@shawnjack8092
Hi, thanks for you questions and comments. The trailer was a long ways away and we did not think we could get him to it. So we came back the next day and found him and got the trailer closer and took him home. Those little calves are amazing, super tough!!!! His mother had been dead for at least 3 weeks and he was still alive. We put him on some green grass and he is getting his strength back. Thanks for watching.
