It’s 25 years _to life,_ and as long as there are people around to protest at the parole board hearings where his release will be decided, it’s unlikely that he’ll be getting out at all. The problem is, he took a deal to plead guilty to second degree murder, not first degree, so the judge didn’t have much leeway. Had this monster’s case gone to trial, he would certainly have received life without parole.

He will be a good boy and they will let him out in 15 years to smell the fresh air, walk to the stores and enjoy living while he tortured and killed and displayed a girls body on the internet...there is no justice if he dosent get the death penalty plus 50 years...................

@@voraciousreader3341 I am sure her sister and eventually her sisters children (when she has them) will attend every parole hearing and the parole board will NOT parole him based on the murder and the fact that he filmed the murder and put it on social media! I am grateful that they agreed to a plea deal as s trial would have been an extremely difficult time for the family, friends and community! They would have to hear about and view the crime scene and autopsy pictures, videos, etc. Also, many times the defense will make the VICTIM seem like the victim deserved it... example “she wanted to die..,it was a suicide pact, etc. due to her mental illness and they would cross examine the FAMILY regarding her mental illness. Furthermore, per the plea deal, this MONSTER is not allowed to appeal and put everyone thru possibly 4 to 5 trials.. hung jury...appeals...etc. In any of the trials they could try an insanity defense and or the jury could find him not guilty of murder as the defense could say it was manslaughter... this is the best conclusion for all parties.

Yeah, that he uploaded the pictures is one of the saddest and worst parts of this case, because of the impact this had on her family. I'm feeling so sorry for them. I don't think he wanted to hurt her family by doing it, but her online community and the other guy, Alex. The sentence is 25 years to life, I think with the video of the killing he doesn't really have a chance to ever be released. With the pictures and videos he got himself in a much worse position. I don't think the evidence was strong enough to prove it was 1st degree murder.

It’s an image that gives you a pretty unsettling feeling. I feel really bad that her family has to accept that this picture is floating around on the internet for anyone to see.

He's trying to humanize himself to the judge, in a way, so talking about himself is appropriate. Talking about her family more than he did could've been excessive and weird.

He literally posted them to IG and Snap Chat. I don't think anyone sent them. If you Google image search just her name, photos of her body literally pop up in a regular search. He did that on purpose. He's a sicko. Should've gotten the death penalty.

What would he have to say for you to believe he's sorry for what he did? People are complex and can have conflicting emotions. He's had over a year to reflect on the murder and how unjustifiable it is. Why is it hard to believe he recognizes he was wrong and feels terrible about it?

But he was so consumed by jealousy that he couldn't let her live if she wasn't going to be with him. I don't know, I personally don't think he's sorry. Mind you, I've forgotten some of the details regarding the case. But he did upload images of her dead body and also recorded killing her. Mind you, I suppose it's still possible that he's sorry. We'll never really know if he's sorry or not.

I also try not to jump to conclusions, though I'm not always successful in that, and it was pretty obvious you weren't in any way on his side. You were just pointing out that people are assuming he's not sorry, when it's possible that he is sorry. I think the main reason I don't think he's sorry is because he posted messages and pictures of her dead body. That's quite a cold thing to do. Though it's possible that, after some time, he may finally be truly sorry.

Here's how I see it: You know the semi-joke that when a woman is screaming at her (ex) boyfriend and angrily throwing his belongings out of her house, he can probably work through the issue and eventually win her back, but when the woman refuses to talk, calmly folds his clothes and leaves them by the front door after breaking up with him, there's little chance of reconciliation? Meaning that the lack of emotion indicates a thorough done-ness with the relationship. In this case, I feel that him posting the photos (as reprehensible and disgusting as that was) was the equivalent of the girlfriend pitching her partner's t-shirts off her balcony: he was hurt by her lack of interest in him romantically (made worse when he saw her kiss Alex) and wanted to hurt Bianca however he thought he could (even though the photos only hurt her family, as she was sadly already gone). That's why I feel he _might_ actually be genuine, since he *was* so hurt and emotional. If he'd been cold and "simply" killed her and attempted to take his own life without spray painting the "May you never forget me" message on the pavement outside his truck, posting the photos, etc., it would seem much less likely. Apologies for the length of this response and I hope my analogy made sense. Thanks again for the pleasant discussion.

Those people who would do such a thing are low life's and enjoy hurting other people but they don't care what it does to the family. But in time, those people will get payback when they least expect it and then they'll wonder why they deserved it. I saw a reality crime show about a young girl was kidnapped and killed during the 70s and people used the phone book to look up the family name and call her family to make fun of their daughter for being killed or prank calls all hours of the night talking bad about their daughter, it was just horrible what they did to her family. Unfortunately there's some people that are just demented and cruel, it just happens more on social media and they get away with it.

You ever watch videos of people trying to attack the defendant? At Larry Nassar's sentencing, the father of (two of, I believe) his victim(s) lunged over the partition, trying to reach Nassar, during his impact speech. It was terrible to watch, knowing how desperate and powerless that poor father must've felt, the guilt telling him that he failed to protect his daughter(s) by "allowing" them to be violated by Nassar. It was very sad and the judge contemplated charging the father but ultimately did not, fortunately. That poor family went through enough.

At his earlier appearance, he made a show of widening his eyes and looking shocked as the prosecuting attorney outlined the details of the murder, as if _HE_ weren't the creep responsible.

To be honest I believe that he is getting the full hospitality from inmates as they don't take kindly to people who hurt minors as most of them have kids themselves so he is going to be the center of attention but not in a good way. Let's hope that the family can move on from this horrific event in their lives and what happened to Bianca never happens again. It is weird though I mean what happened in the aftermath, the murderers who enjoy killing don't glorify their murder on social media but this guy does I don't understand it and mainly is what keeps me up at night. I watched 48 hours and the detail of the night are so disturbing he actually recorded the homicide if that's not evil I don't know what is.

It's 25 to life which is still a life sentence. Will he be allowed to try for parole in 25yrs? Yes, but that doesn't mean it will actually be granted. It doesn't matter what number comes before "to life", it is still a life sentence. The number just indicates the soonest that the defendant will be eligible for his first parole hearing. That said, I hope people actually show up to every last one of his parole hearings and see to it that he never gets out. He deserves to rot. He should not have been charged with "second-degree"; this was clearly first-degree and pre-meditated.

We know enough about Brandon's childhood, so we don't have to imagine it. Brandon's parents were both addicted to substances. Both ended up in jail at different times, but even before that point Brandon and his younger brother ended up in foster care. When Brandon was 12 his father threatened to slit his mother's throat and then kill himself, holding her hostage for over 10 hours. This is what you call a good life?

I thought the same thing. Especially when he spoke about how he wakes up and is reminded what he did with his scar and the orange jumpsuit and how he can't believe he became this person. He quickly was reverting to who he really is - selfish and no care about anyone else but himself. The rest of what he spoke was all an act and you said it best, parroting off what others spoke. I hope he's reminded every single second he's alive the pain he caused so many. My heart breaks so badly for Bianca and her family. For her family's sake, I hope parole is never even considered.

Its not weak, as 25 to life means he can spend the rest of his life in prison but is allowed a hearing annually AFTER 25 years, although consideri the severity of the crime and its notoriety a parole board is unlikely to grant him parole.
