This story is beautiful. It's absolutely wonderful.. Young Goodman Brown deserves more recognition than it has. This song goes well with the story as well. Awesome screenplay too.
Funnily enough Ive seen this video multiple times but it wasn't until now (Im taking an American Gothic course) that I ran into Nathaniel Hawthorne's short. I shared this with the class and everyone had the same reaction as the OG commenter. Much love to this story

Brandon, i realy like this video... i realy like this song. Please, produce more music with these timeless characteristics. The retro elements that heard here will never leave my mind. This is a great production!
The Universe is singing to us "You can't deny my love, my love". Its all between the lines. And the symbolism, I was not even watching the video till the very end. The images play perfectly with his intention.
Wait! I know I've read a story just like this video and I can't for the life of me remember what the story is called. But it had all the same elements. The ribbon in particular sticks out in my memory as being important. I read it like 2 years ago in my college English class. Anyone?

I have a possible explanation for the song/video: . •"Can't Deny My Love" refers to someone doubting his/her partner's love (i.e.: suspecting an affair), but the partner is stressing there is nothing to doubt. His/her love will never sway and therefore can't be "denied." -based mainly on the lyric, "Our bed is underneath the heavy moon. Cast a doubt like a shadow walking through the corners of the room." . •The demonic cult is a metaphor for an affair. The local community depicted is religious, inferably Brandon's character is too. So, in joining the cult, his lover broke his trust. However, the scene's dream-like nature represents the uncertainty if the cult ceremony really happened/if there is really an affair. . •The pink ribbon symbolizes his suspicions. For instance, if she smells like another man's cologne, Brandon could suspect she's seeing someone else, but it doesn't mean that for certain. Similarly, the second pink ribbon could be from the ceremony or just a coincidence. At the end, Brandon is cautiously waiting to see if his suspicions are true. . I know I didn't cover everything, but this comment is already pretty long haha

So I've watching this video and I know its based on a Hawthorne's short story about a man who loses his faith and the hypocrisy of religion. My first thoughts were the man is settled with shape-shifters and they are "slowing allowing him into the knowledge of their animal lives". Maybe its my genre type of books: vampires, werewolves, angels, witches and shape-shifters but that's what I get from this video. All in all, Brandon Flowers' voice is amazing and this song appeals on so many levels. It could also be about control as he is saying "My love will not be denied", control at its finest.
Can the killers please just make a movie out of all their videos like put it all together so we can see the full story I mean come on would be the greatest thing ever dude
i tried to love Brandon as a solo artist but i couldn't i'm just used to see Ronnie Dave and Mark most of the time i loved the killers since i was 12 and i can't really like Brandon as solo artist although he's really good but still i feel like there's something that's not there

The type of clothes on the females suggest they're puritans. Also the video seems to follow the story Young Goodman Brown by Nathaniel Hawthorne which takes in Puritan New England. Though in this video it looks more western puritan. :P
