A small tribute to the late, great Brandon Lee. I know a few of you will probably ask me why The Crow isn't in here and there's a good reason. All of Brandon's other films easily fit together as pieces of the same genre. Not so with The Crow. The Crow is so incredibly different tonally, thematically, and visually from the rest of his filmography that I think it stands best on it's own. So without further ado, here is the list of films and music featured in this tribute:
Legacy of Rage (1986)
Laser Mission (1989)
Showdown in Little Tokyo (1991)
Rapid Fire (1993)
Music: Ultraboss - Autostrada Mezzanote

Love Brandon Lee, Him in The Crow,

He could have been one of the best action stars ever. Had the versatility to do more than just action and had the chops to be an award winning actor. He would be bigger than Keanu Reeves for sure.

I couldn't agree more. He really stood apart from the other action stars of the day. There was a frankness and honesty paired with such intelligence and a sharp wit. He had the makings of a superstar, no doubt. It's interesting to imagine a world where Brandon would eventually become John Wick. Had he lived, I think that probably would've been a reality.

Another thing, regarding his fight scenes, I think he threw better punches than his dad. More crisp, seemed to have more power on them. Even his kicks seemed a bit more powerful than Bruce. It could be, Brandon was quite a bit bigger than his dad albeit slower.

I think the size difference is the key factor. The way a 175 pound guy moves/fights just looks completely different from the way a 135 pound guy fights irregardless of who they are. Bruce's strikes were very "snappy" looking for lack of a better term. Brandon's were more heavy and driving looking. I think Bruce's screen fighting style had considerably more Hong Kong performative influences than Brandon's. Even in the one Hong Kong movie that Brandon did, he fights like a westerner in my opinion. I think his screen fighting has more in common with Chuck Norris' than his own father's curiously enough.

@@MatrixCobretti yeh man I definitely have looked. Not at everything but I just had a quick browse. Some real good stuff on here 👀👍🏻 I’ve done editing myself before just messing around and I know how much time it can take. It can be a real pain in the ass lol

@@axelstone3131 Thank you man. I've gotten a pretty good editing program now so it's easier than it used to be, but it's still a lot of time per video. I'm fairly obsessive when I get into the process of it because I don't settle for the end product being just "decent" It's got to be as epic as possible. If I don't still get juiced after watching it a couple dozen times over the creative process, then I'm not happy. That's why I don't post with as much frequency as some other similar channels out there. I'm a quality over quantity guy.

Saw the beekeeper. Just now. It had some great action and stunt work. I think it’s one of Jason’s best like you mentioned you thought it would be before.

Thanks for updating me brother! I had hoped I'd be able to check it out myself by now, but life happened and now I don't know when I'll get a chance to. Everybody whose opinion I respect has said that it's easily one of The Stath's best and one of the best action movies to come out in recent years. I can't wait to see it!
@axelstone3131
@axelstone3131 5 месяцев назад
@@MatrixCobretti that’s okay you’ll see it when you can see it 👍🏻 I like that it keeps things straight and simple. It just dealt with financial fraud/corruption and kept it in that territory. It didn’t take things into weird territory so I was glad about that. There’s a pretty brutal fight scene at the end. It’s unexpected. I won’t spoil it for you. But the guy who Jason’s fights, I saw him in an interview a few days ago on here at the premiere event and he looks nothing like his character in the movie. I didn’t recognise him at all until it was like midway through the fight. He changed his image and accent completely. I was like wow that’s that guy! It really threw me off lol

I’ve been hearing dolph saying Sly is writing expendables 5 or at least he thinks he might be.
@MatrixCobretti
@MatrixCobretti 5 месяцев назад
I saw that too. Honestly though, with as hard as the last one flopped, I think it'd be a small miracle to get anyone to agree to produce it. The truth is that the average moviegoer will have no idea that Sly came back to fix things (if he does in fact go that route.) That being the case, with as unpopular as the last 2 movies have been, I reckon the goodwill of the general public is lost forever. I think Sly should skip it and do something else instead like Demolition Man 2.
@axelstone3131
@axelstone3131 5 месяцев назад
@@MatrixCobretti I just looked an expendables 4 lost about 50 million out of the 100 (supposedly) million budget. But no way it had 100. I agree, maybe he could also star in a beekeeper sequel or something also
@MatrixCobretti
@MatrixCobretti 5 месяцев назад
@@axelstone3131 From what I understand it did have a 100 million budget. How that factors out is that they had to do a bunch of reshoots. Nevertheless, the finished product looked like sh_t. Sly needs to wash his hands of it and move on. At this point it's beating a dead horse. What about another movie with Kurt Russell? I'd love to see that! Not a sequel to Tango & Cash necessarily, but just a fun movie with the two of them. I always thought they had great screen chemistry.
@axelstone3131
@axelstone3131 5 месяцев назад
@@MatrixCobretti I think it’s Kurt that’s preventing anything with Sly happening. He buys into the “I’m to old” thing. I think tango and cash maybe could have got made a few years ago but Kurt wasn’t interested,
@MatrixCobretti
@MatrixCobretti 5 месяцев назад
@@axelstone3131 According to what I saw, (if I understood him right) it wasn't that Kurt was thinking they're too old, it's that he doesn't like to rehash old times. As in, he would be interested to do something like Tulsa King. Something that's new ground and in no way a hearkening to what they were doing 30 or 40 years ago. That's why he did The Fast and The Furious movies over The Expendables. I can understand his viewpoint.
