One of my buddies called Novak years ago when he started this helping people journey. Told me they talked for over an hour. Explaining it like they were just 2 dudes talking. Friend has been clean for 2 years now. The dude is legit and just enjoys helping people. Would highly recommend if you’re struggling. I also Hope the best for Bam.

Novak is so good at explaining the battles of addiction and how people will rationalize using certain substances so it doesn’t make them feel like they are doing such a horrible thing. Exactly what he is explaining is exactly what happened to most of us. The hardest battle is getting back on the right path and staying on that path. I hung out with Novak and bam on 2 separate occasions back when he was such a lost soul. First time I met him was at a taking back Sunday and my chemical romance concert in like 2007. I was upstairs on the balcony next to the bar and I felt someone put their hand on my shoulder, I turned around ready to punch someone in the mouth for touching me and it was bam and Novak. Ended up hanging out with them for about 45 mins or so drinking a few drinks before they worked their way up to the side of the stage.

That's for nobody to say but him. I'd argue the opposite. He drinks a lot sure, definitely more than he should. But it doesn't stop him from having success. It doesn't stop him from doing the things he wants to do. He doesn't end up in jails in institutions. He doesn't have withdrawals. Heavy drinkers like him have some sort of "off switch" that us alcoholics just don't have.

@@riotpb10 I'm guessing you've never heard of a functioning alcoholic? He most certainly does have withdrawals, that's why he takes xanax when he isn't drinking. He's an alcoholic in denial. A normal drinker doesn't drink 10 doubles in a night multiple nights in a row. Notice how every time someone brings up problems with alcohol he denies and deflects? He tries to rationalize it as since he's not a homeless drunk then he doesn't think he has a problem. Plenty of people don't end up in jail/prison or institutions and are alcoholics. That doesn't mean that he isn't addicted and chained to it. The guy's life revolves around drinking. That's his personality.
@Tyler0620
@Tyler0620 Год назад
@riotpb10 he's 100 percent an alcoholic, just because he continues to be successful doesn't mean he is not one. He's just a functioning alcoholic. Addiction comes in all shapes and sizes. After I detoxed from alcohol I tried an outpatient place that just kept telling me I was weak and a loser and bound to fail. Then I tried AA meetings and it was more of the same but just coming from friendlier people and with more of a "there is only one path to sobriety" mindset. If it works for people I think that's great, but it was not a good fit for me at all. For the first year or so I didn't drink just to prove those people wrong. Maybe it wasn't the healthiest motivator but it worked for me. That was nearly 5 years ago, I'd surely have debilitating illnesses now had I lived long enough and were still drinking today.
