I could listen to this dude a million times over and never get bored and always learn something new. I was born and raised an hour or so south of Baltimore and still actually live there. I’ve followed this dude forever. I was also a heroin addict or better yet addicted to anything and everything that made me feel better. I’ve seen him speak live a few times, I’ve read his books and my god sometimes I feel like he’s telling my story. I’ve been clean a little over 7 years and my god I’ve never been more grateful in my life for peace and serenity❤. This was hands down one of my favorite interviews you’ve ever done. ❤
I used to love Novak on CKY and Viva La Bam . I was a heroin addict too , and incredibly strung out . I don’t agree with him that the 12 steps can help any addict , because it never helped me at all. But I respect him for helping addicts . Just celebrated 6 years sober November 27
I don’t agree with 12 step at all the recidivism Rate is pathetic and would not be tolerated in any other area or business. Specifically I don’t agree with constantly telling yourself that you are an addict. In any other instance you would need to do the opposite to to find success. You been to embody what you desire y to be and live like it exists already in this case it would be sobriety. My belief is at some point you are no longer an addict. You can’t constantly harp on the past if you want to change your future. No wonder they have a 92% failure rate in 12 step. I’m sorry but to me it’s like everything else it’s about the almighty dollar if you cure the patient the you no longer have the patient that revenue source is done. The program is designed to treat long term not heal To prove that it’s no different that anything else in medicine rarely do the cure it’s about long term treatment to keep big pharmaceutical happy
Mr. Novak and Steve-O give me so much inspiration. They are truly amazing people to overcome what they have and be so open and vulnerable about their struggles.
I swear I’ve listened to Brandon tell his testimony multiple times & each and every time I’m able to take away something new from his story. He’s been vital in my recovery as a former addict. I was so excited to see you finally posted this interview, I had been waiting for it since you posted the picture of you two! Thanks, Ian, great job keep it going! 😊
No he didn't "save ur life" . Ur $ or the donations of others "saved ur life" as well as line their pockets. Bet ur life wouldn't a meant shit had $ signs not been attached to it
This is probably my favorite episode. I’m a vet and have been struggling with alcohol use for almost 20 years. I can fully relate to Mr. Novak and I want sobriety as well. Barely touched drugs but alcohol was my thing.
lmao your drug is at the corner store for a dollar or two, you don't know about real addiction.... when people cast their sexual morals and sometimes sexual PREFERENCE at the door..... you don't feel the stigma of being an "addict" cuz your drug is legal. go to detox get a week long Ativan taper for the shakes n seizures, give your life up to God and work the 12 steps. it'll change ur life.
This another good 1, have seen Brandon on many different pods... each 1 i learn something more about him and the whole situation of the life he had and had...
Run into Brandon every once in a while. Great guy. Last I saw him was at the ridge skateboarding documentary premiere here in Baltimore. First time I’ve seen him and I wasn’t on drugs (minus the few times I met him when I was a kid) and got to tell him how much he’s helped me clean up. Always down to take a picture with you too. So glad he’s healthy and thriving. We really didn’t see that coming lol
Novak's Story is amazing not just what he was apart of or what he went through but what he's doing after the fact of getting sober and spreading the message to help people like you and me the guy is an inspiration and deserves to be praised
44:32 - He clearly has taken ownership of his life with the same honesty we see here. By this approach, I could see his talks helping those struggling with addiction. Just be honest. Be real.Appreciate the story. 55:29
Working in the detox/rehab world I heard a lot of insane stories, and novaks story was one we used to show to our patients, it’s incredible. On another note, you should have a clinician/therapist that used to be an addict on the show. They are some of the greatest people.
I was addicted to pain killers for almost 15 years. I’m so lucky I never had to go on Heroine and always keep my job and family. I was a functional addict. I am still On Suboxone 2 years later at age 48 but man Novak is inspirational. I’m so proud of you Novak
Yes my teeth started getting bad anyway and i had perfect teeth, but being on these i got a bunch cut out a year ago nd will be getting the rest out real soon so idk if it is the subs or no calcium in my teeth bc i dont have any calcium in my teeth either so idk
@@earthgod6231 I’ve seen and read that the subs have some sort of acid in them that takes the calcium off your teeth and they get brittle. Apparently there’s lawsuits out there about it. Just wanted to ask someone who’s been on them consistently if it were true or not? Keep going brother..
Having trash on like this definitely isn't helping dude out. His newest video released 3 days after this has already surpassed it in views. Literally just released today. Ain't no 1 but nut riders watching n commenting
DBC..Daily Blessings Coming! .. Thank You ALL for Everything Everyday!! .... Congratulations to Everyone for Success and Helping others, it's very important! ... LoL. Let's see if this, Interview podcast with Brandon is the same as others, word for word.... I'm in Recovery, Kind of and love Learning NEW Things to Help Myself.. I Believe Everything happens for a Reason and I'm BLESSED EVERYDAY!!
Loved this interview, haven't done any heroin but the upbringing and alcoholism and pills and other drugs! On a better path now thou, smoking and drinkin sometimes but it is what it is, working and paying my bills! Loved your 100 episode with your father, have to check out the other one, just started watching the videos a week ago or something keep doing this bro!
Wow, 🎉 very interesting story & a solid dude helping out where he can. Without a doubt Ian- all time best guest to date & you have hit some home runs in the past but this was a Grand Slam brother !
Never wore the jyncos but I remember them I had on the girbauds with the strap in the front damn he brought me back to middle school when he said jynco 😂😂😂
@@Allyourbase1990 man those were the hype back in the day bro if u had those or some girbauds phat farm fubu I’m from the era u could buy champion gear in Kmart now these kids think it’s designer shit and it’s being sold top dollar at foot locker n shit times have changed lmao
Hands down best interview u have done novac said some of the realist shit. Made me look back to my past and and what I've been thru and look at it totally differently
I've seen Brandon on tv in the past and he was a complete disaster. I actually felt bad for him and was expecting to see that he died in the news. It's so good to see him clean and healthy. I wish he could help Bam cuz his days are numbered on his current path.
Yep same thing everytime. He has always been and always will be a scammer..He is a rehab broker getting paid big money to keep rehab beds full..It's big business and insurance companies pay big.
Damn! I heard him essentially say exactly what you stated, but I missed this profound notion that is true in all likelihood & only upon reading your comment, did your perception ring true to me. Great catch, wise observation. I really hope he allows this simply to put his message out there to help others, & I feel this may be true because he's not needing money from self-promotion, or selling a product, thankfully because he's sober & he's realized how important speaking the truth is, regardless of how humiliating & embarrassing Said truth may be.
He said in another interview he doesn't know anything about the podcasts he's doing, he just gets booked and turns up for it. He's just trying to reach out to new people who are watching/listening!
I still find it hilarious how people say or complain that Brandon tells the same story over and over I'm just like well what do you want him to do change his truth like if that's the case go listen to another addict story😅😅
And the reason he tells the same story over and over, is for the people who are watching for the first time and hearing his story for the first time. Those people are the ones he's trying to reach so they know hope and help is out there! Then there's me who watches every interview he does and listens to his story over and over because I'm obsessed with him telling it and him adding new things lol
Brandon, Yous a real one. I FWU Since 2005. S/O Baltimore City AKA Bodymore Murderland. When he said "Should I let a dude blow me for a bag of heroin" I FELT THAT... My 1st thought was, "How much heroin we talking" SMH I need help 😔
No hate against your guest of today at all. But I noticed you’ve been taking in guests that kinda go around and appear on different podcasts. I listen to a lot of them so for example I’ve listened to Novak in a different podcast and not super interested in listening to the story again. What always drawn me to your pod was listening to maybe not so famous but real people with a good story. I think you still have a lot of potential and growth in that area and going back from these type of guests to the original ones might be little tricky. Its up to you ofcourse what to do with the pod but I believe that is part of the reason you grew so big so fast. You bring the best out of those kind of people thats your strength. I understand you wanna grow but I believe you will grow bigger and better staying more true to yourself. Anyways. Big fan that’s why I kinda took the time to give my 2 cents. Not that anybody cares I know but maybe just had to get it out hahaha anyways. Love from the Netherlands 🇳🇱
Appreciate the support and feedback! Our focus is guests that haven’t been on other channels but sometimes we do have to pepper guests that have shared their story to build relationships but ultimately I prefer stories that are untold!
I’ve ended listening to it and I wanna make my compliments how you did the interview and the angle you took! Best question imo asking about the getting sucked for dope “how was that”? Haha I’m just messing with you my friend you did outstanding. I’m standing behind my previous words but you did do it the right way 👍🏼
It's a slippery slope having being sober and recovery as your whole personality, job, pretty much his whole identity because if something happens and he relapses he has a reason to not tell anybody as to not jeopardize the whole business. It won't be good business for mr recovery to be in an ally shooting heroin because a relapse.
brandon your 100% wrong about being a house hold name your the superhero for the broken have nots and alot of the normal people had hope. 🖤💪🏽🤘🏽highlandtown
@@dirtvegandude u sound like a bitter ex, shut the fuck up😅 Tony called him n said get sober or ur kicked off the team, the POWELL team dipshit😅 did Novak rip u off or bang your chick or somethin? 😅 dude he was skating contests as a pro, HE WAS PRO u ignorant MF😅you do realize Pros can be pro and u don't got a pro deck w your name on it, yes? 😅😅😅😅😅dumbfkk
