It's not very talented, there are just big name recognition players. Bosa for instance is someone everyone knows and thinks is good but has not even come close to playing up to his contract. Mike is awesome but injured too much as well. Ekeler is a great pass catcher but never has been a north/south runner which you need to finish games (sup Jacksonville). Idk I don't disagree that a coach would make a huge difference, but they definitely needed to get rid of TT as well and reevaluate the roster honestly.

Lifelong Chargers fan here: I agree that Billy B might not be a good fit for the Chargers organization. He’d be coming from one of the most positive and supportive ownership to the Spanos’s. Who have been know to be a train wreak at times. The team REALLY screwed up by not taking Sean Peyton when it was obvious he wanted to coach Herbert. He has been through turning an organization around who has not had success before. He was a very good offensive mind. There are DC’s he could get that would have been fine. Daboll a few years ago would have been a great hire - but they passed on him for Staley. This year, Johnson would probably be a good hire - but yeah, ownership really needs to nail this or else Herbert’s career will become Rivers 2.0. All the ability to win it, but the team screws it up.

Staley is the Dunning- Kruger effect personified . He is and was completely delusional from the day he stepped on the field for the chargers and he appealed to people like Gottlieb because of his nerdy personna and perceived chaulk board prowess . Staley should have been fired after last year's playoff loss to Jacksonville. At this juncture in the season and with no replacement head coach, Staley should have been permitted to finish the season because this decision just creates more chaos for the rest of the season. Also, the LA Chargers are not Bill Belichek's type of organization, because he has his own people and the Chargers have theirs.

Brandon Staley is an even worse coach than Doug Marrone. He should NEVER have been hired. The problem with the Spanos family who are huge cheapskates. The Chargers will never improve if there is not radical change from the top down. They need a GM that can tear down and rebuild the roster, and they need an OFFENSIVE head coach, not a defensive one. They need a whole new vision and philosophy. So there needs to be a blow up of the roster, and a lot of roster cuts and trades, and a who new vision. A big ask. This is going to take a few years. Freaking blow it up.

When NE went 10 years with no Superbowl Darrelle Revis and Brandon Browner was bought it and you finally win again. Bill, McDaniels and Patricia will be great with a QB already in place. Otherwise im going Dan Quinn at HC , keeping Kellen Moore at OC and getting Raheem Morris or Marquard Manuel. Third option give Kellen Moore the job and hire Rex or Gregg Williams as DC.
