Brandy IS one of the most underrated entertainers. Monica, Aaliyah, and some other youngsters that hit the scene at that time were all slept on by the industry because they were singers, damn good singers that had people behind them to keep them grounded and not become industry puppets.
Thank you.....it's the truth. These singers nowadays just don't have pure talent. Sorry, but Beyonce, Keyshia Cole, Rihanna, this latest sensation Iggy whats-her-name, can't hold a candle to Mary J. Blige, Brandy, Monica, Pink, Christina A., Missy E., OR Aaliyah. Hell, Taraji P. Henson has better pipes than Rihanna (but that's just my opinion).
T Johnson I had tp school somebody the other day who tried to diss Brandy. In the 90s Brandy was the IT. She had hit records, her own TV show, a doll, did movies with legends Whitney Houston and Diana Ross. She was big. People tend to forget how popular she was. I hate when people don't give her the credit she deserves.

I was in a debate with a youngster yesterday who said Rhianna is the greatest singer ever. I wanted to put that little teeny bopper off my bus. Instead I told her a quote from CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story "...it's a talent to say you have talent when you don't have talent." And trust me, Rhianna will NEVER be as great or talented as the voices I grew up with.
Yall act like Beyonce is new, She was out and popular with Brandy, Monica, and Aaliyah. She's the only one that crossed over into PoP. Same with Usher.

Facts!!! One of the many reasons why I'M a huge fan of hers. She is such a crybaby, but I absolutely love it because she is so humble and she accepts that love from her peers wholeheartedly.

agreed...full moon is probably my favorite... but NO ONE WORKS HARDER THAN HER IN THE STUDIO...THE WAY SHE STACKS HER VOCALS, AND USES HER VOICE FOR DIFFERENT TECHNIQUES TO CREATE DIFFERENCE SOUND EFFECTS ON EACH TACK... JUST SICK

I would always say that if I ever saw Brandy I would say to her that: I grew up during a time that when you turned on the radio you heard music. not just any music, but soul Music. Brandy was and Is and will forever be apart of that history. her voice is everything you want music to sound like... especially if you like to sing. while I didn't start listening HEAVILY to Brandy back in the 90s, after 2015 I became a fan. I listened to her Aphrodisiac album, then Never say Never, Full moon, 2011, and her Very first Brandy album. I can honestly say, that when you listen to her, her voice is so different from others. Brandy has the type of voice where she doesn't need music behind it because her range is so awesome she can't sang the right note at the right time, she will complete the song in a way that when you listen to it, you won't be able to say well I would have sung it like this, because she sings it the way that her music should sound. if I never here another Brandy voice again I won't be mad, because she has fulfilled her own voice. I dont think we'll have another Brandy voice in this generation, Anything is possible but for now Brandy stands alone, and will forever be in a class by her self.
As a mother of two girls that love Brandy I've always appreciated her style and grace! She always dressed like a young lady and didn't do the hoochie coochie dance or sing inappropriate!! Hats off to you Brandy! I'm curious to see how many of the current "singers/artists are still going strong as long as you have. Or as my daughters say Mom nowadays they're not artists or singers JUST temporary entertainers".
Very cool tribute. Brandy has been one of my favorite singers for a long time. She's not going to blow the windows out with a bunch of shrieking but she has a beautifully cool and relaxed voice.

That is the truest statement ever. Brandy is an amazing talent, she is a vocal stylist and no one is a more original singer in our time than this woman. India Arie is an amazing talent and to be a performer who influences amazing talents to do their thing is the highest honor a performer can have. It's bigger than any award.
I don’t know how old I was when I heard Brandy sing on Thea. I just happened to catch the episode when I heard her sing. I knew her voice was special at the moment. I have listened to her growth over the years, and am finally hearing her “sing” the way I always wished she would and knew she could.
damn that made me cry too, i love brandy because she wen't through a lot to be where she is today and she still stays humble and down to earth. She takes nothing for granted and do not let fame go to her head. She is and apparently always will be a good role model to young girls everywhere. Not to mention some of the women in the industry need to learn from her.
The Entertainment Industry devours the talented youth and disposes of them like the body waste of animal once they think they are no longer able to financially take advantage of them in order to bounce on this next generation but legendary entertainers endure hardships and bounce back.
