The city of Brasov is the 7th largest city in Romania with a population of 350,000 and is just two hours from Bucharest. Brasov is considered an upscale city in Romania and is close to Bran Castle a popular tourist destination, it is also considered a year round favorite Expat location. Brasov offers a great quality of life, and is rich in history. The average US Retiree on Social Security receives $1,550 a month, and a couple on Social Security receives over $2,500 a month. A US Expat living on Social Security can expect a great standard of living in Brasov Romania when compared to the living costs in the US.
