He's right, the manual is vague and slightly misleading if I understand it right. Plus the cleaning station manual is even worse. For instance, the razer icon shows up when I'm done shaving. Does that mean I need to change the blades? I don't think I should since the unit is brand new. What kind of oil can I use to lubricate the foil? What does the light indicate during the cleaning cycle? complete? charging? It would be nice to know these things.
Just bought this at a Costco in Canada. Didn’t come with a manual. I went online and found and downloaded it. No instructions in the manual or the tiny slip of paper that came with it on how to install and use the flammable cleaning solution/cartridge, which is hilarious with respect to safety. They could have spent pennies per unit with a few simple instructions.
I missed it or was not covered - to Enable the Lock Mode so the key are inactive (useful to travel in luggage so it doesn't start up and drain the battery) - hold for 5 sec the power button until the red Lock icon comes up and beeps. Repeat to inactivate.
So when you have it on and then turn it off the battery indicator bar disappears and then you see the water drop indicator come on and then disappear what does that mean?
I have a very old Series 7 shaver which gives me a great shave but trimmer part fell off and I can't put it back in place. Unable to find model # but don't know where to send it for repairs. I don't want to replace it. HELP.
I just got one. It's not as robust as my old corded Remington, but it shaves much closer, almost like a blade. I thought there was a pop-up trimmer on this, though. It'd be easier than changing the blade. I have a separate Wahl clipper for that kind of thing.
I have used 2 series 7 does this do the job cause for me I shave for 35min, I have hard beard and shave once a week, my neck gets red thats why i need to buy one but I don't know If series 9 does it.... is the engine on this one very strong?
Just got one as the first razor ever for my son. You are right, the manual is useless as I couldn't figure out what the cleaner was initially and how to put it together.
I have a question/an idea ! I purchased Braun Series 7 Cassette 70S (9000 Series) (Basically replacement blades) and was wondering, theirs gotta be a way to sharpen/or send out to get sharpened my old Braun blades. Please Braun Series 7 people/customers/professional Braun Employees/Engineers , this is such an amazing product , please incorporate a blade sharping business that goes along w/ the sell of the new Cassette! You guys figure that out , literally quite possible the best product ever invented! Please and thank you. Anything you could do to solve this minor lil problem……. Thanks peace and love.
I’m very happy with this shaver. The closeness of the shave is unbelievable - even better than that of a safety razor or high quality blade. It gave me no irritation, nicks or cuts. The only thing I’m a little disappointed about is the fact that the beard/precision trimmer is sold separately
I'm a real time system designer but there is no way i can figure out the instructions, which are ambiguous diagrams . No text at all. Online is just as bad. It really detracts from easily enjoying the razor.
The "manual" that came with my 7 series 7071 is not helpful at all with its dumb pictures. Cant believe I just spend $140 bucks on something that I have to work to understand how to use it properly. Why does Braun hate me this much?
From the first use, immediately after I turn off the Braun Series 7 razor (every time), there is a notification on the display that it is necessary to replace the cartridge. I see it happening on this presentation as well. Why is that so?
you get the cleaning liquid but only one attachment .. the straight trimmer like he used to trim his mustache above the lip.. unless my other attachments were missing that is all i got.. i think for the price they should all be included
I have viewed this videos 7 times because it is an EXCELLENT Review of the Braun Series 7 shaver/trimmer. This video review demonstrated the features of the product. It has persuaded me to purchase the Braun Series 7 and all beard and stubble attachments because I cannot have a very close shave. Thanks Again.
From the future (2022)I looked at reviews of both, and thought this was a better value for the money, plus no fake chrome. So far, I don't see a pop-up trimmer on it, which I liked on my old corded Remington. This definitely shaves closer, very comfortably, than the Rem.
So what I need to know is 1. if you are shaving with it just like that is that for a close shave or are you supposed to put a cap on it? 2. You said it auto cleans? How? 3. How long does it take to charge the first time you use it vs normally? So many items want you to charge it longer for the first charge. Is this the same?
You pull the cover off and then slide the cartridge into the cleaning station. The button on the back of the cleaning station (not the top) is what opens the slot for the cartridge. The "pictographs" hint that tipping either the opened cartridge or the cleaning station is a recipe for a spill.
Dry works fine for any electric shaver. It also simplifies cleaning the shaver after the shave. Start with a clean and dry face. Use a quality aftershave/skincare product after the shave.
Let me agree with everyone who has the same disdain for the confusing instructions supplied, so annoying to understand. I still don't know if the shaver head is supposed to be moist after removing it from the cleaning station, the cleaning cycle was completed, I think, the light on the top stopped blinking, and went dark, the whining sound stopped whining, so I removed the shaver, and the shaver head was moist or a little wet, is that normal??? Help, the instructions are worthless.
It's normal., The head stays wet because there is still a little of the cleaning/lubrication solution in the tray where the shaver sits while cleaning/charging. I always leave mine in the charging/cleaning station when I'm not using it.
Batteries can be receharged only a fixrd number of times. Often about a 1000 to 2000times, so the more frequently that you charge it, the shorter will be its life! Dfintely do not charge it daily!! Perhaps once a week ±
Another confusing thing with the useless manual. The alcohol in the cleaning solution will evaporate enough to be less effective in about two months. This clearly implies that Braun expects the user to clean daily (or replace the cleaning cartridge every couple of months if not used daily.)
@@andrewkaminker5004 - The latest rechargeable batteries are affected much less by frequent charging, The lifespan of the battery is more closely tied to total complete discharge/recharge count. In other words, 20 five percent recharges is the equivalent of just one dead to full recharge.
after using braun series 9 pro I switched to braun series 7. the razor head on braun series 9 pro is way too bulky and the built in trimmer performs poorly. After using the braun series 7 for 4 months now, I have noticed the following: - Once the battery is fully charged, I cannot use the electric razor for more than two and a half times. I shave every other day in average of 10 to 15 minutes each time. So where is the 60 minutes the manufacturer claims? Please note the facial hair is not extreamly coarse . The reason it takes me 10 to 15 minutes is the many, many passes needed in order to get a decent shave. In other words, the razor head is not so amaizing as advertised. - The precision trimmer attachment is almost as bad as the one on the series 9 pro except that ergonomicaly, it offers a better control and view of the area you are trimming.

I just received my new Braun 7 series today. Can I charge it by simply plugging the razor intoi the wall? When I do that, the razor will not turn on when plugged into the wall. Is that intentional?
Braun: The 790 is waterproof, so you can drop it in the pool, but you cannot shave with it in the shower. You need to spend another $70 on the 799 if you want to use it in the shower. Me: Yea...Right!!
Reviews are always better than the reality. I am a bit disappointed with this shaver. It jus can't shave properly under the chin and the neck part. I always have to redo it with razor. Besides the battery does not last for 3 weeks. It lasts about 1.5 week (I shave 3 times a week and each time it takes about 15-20 minutes).
Why would this product not have a manual that describes in detail how to use it properly as well as the different attachments ? That is really unacceptable for a name brand product like Braun . Someone there should be fired
I just purchased this because I need a fast shave sometimes. I find a normal razor will shave better under the neck. Shout out to Gillette. I stopped their product for 3 years now. Woke products are banned from my house.
