Most of Julie's songs are in Gáidhlig the spelling of Scots Gaelic so there's no e changing the sound of the a meaning its pronounced Gah-lic rather than Gae-lic.
Anything Celtic is awesome. I've got this transformer character with super crossed eyes named Sun Tracker (yes I know, he's a boat) and he's also a Scottie
I love how much Celtic culture they took the time to invest in the story. The Gaelic language, the mythical lands, the rough legends, all of it. Truly inspiring.
When the cold wind is a-calling And the sky is clear and bright Misty mountains sing and beckon Lead me out into the light I will ride, I will fly Chase the wind and touch the sky I will fly Chase the wind and touch the sky Where dark woods hide secret And mountains are fierce and bold Deep waters hold reflections Of times lost long ago I will hear their every story Take hold of my own dream Be as strong as the seas are stormy And proud as an eagle's scream I will ride, I will fly Chase the wind and touch the sky I will fly Chase the wind and touch the sky And touch the sky Chase the wind Chase the wind Touch the sky
It is so short listening to it, but try playing it... Feels like an eternity xD It's probably just me being out of practice, but the strumming kills my arm and the last "na na na" part feels like hours One of my favorite soundtracks though, Brave was 10/10
Deadeye2907 try using your wrist more! I definitely strum with my arm but once I took up the Scottish and Irish tunes (and Mumford) i found if you strum more from the wrist you'll survive these tough songs!
Same here...and this is coming from someone who was raised on the stories of both the Scandinavian and Celtic traditions. I preferred Brave MUCH MUCH MORE than Frozen!
MissArtBlock Merida was just too reprehensible to me. She poisons her mother without a second thought and then spends the whole movie trying to fix her screw-up. That didn't strike me as particularly "brave". And after all that everything she does is instantly forgiven and she gets everything she wants, without ever really having to face up to what she did. It just seems to me like Disney and Pixar are running out of ideas for what to do with their animated movies. They all seem to be way too simplistic and bland. Thank god for the Lego movie. That's the first good animated film I've seen in a while
Whenever I hear this song, I feel the need to be running through a forest with the wind rushing past me. The smell of fresh air, and pine trees filling my nose. Then being able to sit on a cliff someplace at the end of the day, while watching the sun set in the middle of no where.
Merida (& Katniss) inspired me to learn more about archery 🎯💕 Now I'm getting better and better at shooting arrows with my bow 😊 I'm forever thanking you Merida!
Brave has gotten me into archery. I've always loved it, and when I rewatched it a few months ago it made me sign up for lessons at Black Cat Archery. 😄❤
This is the stuff I grew up with i was raised to be proud of being Scottish and our heritage i live in England now and when I am missing home I watch brave with my big blanket x
I love this so much... Whenever I'm feeling down or worried about anything, I just listen to this song. It reminds me of being a child in the countryside, working with my dog on the farm, and just enjoying life
My six year old daughter reminds me so much Merida. She's got fiery red hair and the attitude to match. Probably gets it from both her mother and myself, since there is more than a bit of Scots in our family trees.
brave is my fave disney movie, i love that they're representing scottish people im not fully scottish but i have quite a bit of heritage with it and i love the culture surrounding scotland and stuff
Nothing quite like watching Disney movies from the old days when they were really good, the sound track to Brave was awesome, with the only other thing in that movie liked more being the Mordu(not sure how thats spelt) vs Eleanor scene.
This song really lifts my spirits and makes me feel courageous. But you shouldn’t be comparing it to Frozen. All these movies have unique stories and Frozen was a good movie with good music and graphics. Just because it’s gotten a little bit old and you don’t like it, doesn’t mean that every other movie is better.
This song makes me even more excited and even more prouder to have some Scottish blood in me and my heritage ah I love this so so much such a magnificent song!:):)
Brave got me into archery I haven't been able to get back to my archery club, since they moved places and they just kinda ignored my emails- So I'm listening to this and imagining myself with a bow again It's nice
I need this on a CD for when I go back up to the Highlands to visit my family. :) I'm from the Highlands of Scotland originally, currently living just an hour outside of Glasgow. :D
Umm if you mean Scotland kind of. From what I know (Im not an expert on geography but I love my country more than a lot of things) the misty mountains arent a real place. We have many mountains that tend to get misty and yes they are fairly chilly. Generally here in Scotland it is cold.
twilightrose98 I did not expect to see this reference here of all things, and I choked on my water before simply laughing. I think the real question here is if their dungeons are deep, and the caverns are old.
I wasn't the biggest fan of Brave or Merida because I felt like Merida was too immature and Brave's story and tone was kinda all over the place and the latter I still stick to this day but I appreciate Merida for being the immature teenager she is because I could actually relate to her issues as I grew older and started to quarrel and fight with my own mom more often. But regardless of my opinion on the movie and Merida, I always loved this song. Such an uplifting, victorious and freeing song! I always a get vicarious thrill when Merida does her achery practice as this song plays!
