Just a little bit of extra information if you care to tell your band director or bandmates, in this piece the piccolo represents the grandfather and the flute represents the main character of the book the Chinese Cinderella. At the beginning of the peace, it is like a conversation between the two characters. Later, when the same theme comes back, you will notice that it is only flute. At that point in the story, the grandpa has passed away. Just a little behind the scenes information

Lol I play the flute and piccolo (but is the only flute that can play the piccolo well, so I'm the piccolo solo), but sometimes I wish I was the flute part because most of our flutes suck XD hopefully they get better before our band competition

Bro, I play trombone and I get to play the same note with the same rhythm for a long time only to go and play a new rhythm for also a while.

I know it’s been 2 years but a wooden flute would sound amazing. I play Euphonium, and I loved my part! Flute/piccolo stole the show though to be honest. It fits so perfectly
