And also majority of trash in the ocean comes from really poor countries who don’t have the infrastructure for waste management. And even then- people do try not to the best they can. Well he also cant even chew threw plants so I'm sure that made them worry alot less about it trying to bite them. I don't even know what kind of animal that is and I got non threatening vibes from it. I'm also not there but I doubt they would be so brave if it was a sharks mouth or something.

There are small fish that clean larger fish. They even enter their mouths to clean and the larger fish don't bite or eat them. How did they know these small fish will benefit them by cleaning them? Some mammals eat certain types of plants when they feel sick to make themselves vomit. It all goes to show that animals are far more intelligent and have stronger instincts than we often seem to realize.

It's so sad that so many animals suffer and die from this sort of thing. I'm so glad there are still people out there trying to help them. (I'm going to college for animal welfare and agriculture and hoping to become someone who can help look after animals sometime in the future)

Whether or not they can directly kill is debated, but they can certainly cause harm or harm that can result in death. But also that's one very specific whale that iirc is the loudest animal on earth. I think you might be conflating facts about the sperm whale with the bends (aka, decompression sickness), where divers rise too quickly to the surface and gases in their body expand rapidly as the pressure lowers, which causes all sorts of problems, including death. It can actually happen any time there's a sudden change in pressure, so like a plane losing pressure at altitude could cause it too, but it's mostly associated with diving since that's way more common. It can cause problems hours or even days after the change in pressure.

The sad thing is that even if we are advocates, we are also hypocrites one way or another. As conscientious as I am, I find it impossible to completely eliminate plastics for my life, and therefore I am part of the problem. The solution begins by turning off the spout.

I agree that it’s no easy task to disregard plastics altogether but we all should seek ways to avoid plastics and dispose plastics more efficiently than just throwing them in the trash can. Unfortunately biodegradable products and recycling have become sources of irritation because of not following proper protocols. Let me give an example of what should and could be done. I just returned from Zimbabwe and Zambia. No plastic water bottles and no plastic straws were used at each of our camps. We were given our own steel water bottles and straws were eliminated altogether. We in America have got to do better.

Now that’s a hero, not overpaid sports people/actors/singers etc. She was tiny next to the whale but did her best to set it free from yet more human pollution. That lady needs a medal. I’m so glad people film amazing scenes like this.

A lot of animals will approach people for help in certain circumstances. It is wonderful to see. A lot of people i think would be scared of being that close to a sperm whale. A incredible experience for the lady, and i am sure a very grateful whale.
I truly believe we were to be stewards of this planet. We could solve and save a lot of life if we learned to work as stewards. Doing our best to eliminate suffering and pain.

Exactly it was like the whale didn't feel threatened knew she was helping save it's life. Also noticed just how small their lower mandibles are. Kindness like this is so powerful, spiritual, uplifting and reassuring coming from humankind.
@@ThePsykool8- Being a short, this is likely a clip from the entire rescue. At the end of this, she isn't swimming away from the whale, like she's finished trying to help. The captioning says she saved the whale's life. It would have been very satisfying to see the whale close his(her?) mouth, which probably is in a longer video. I don't think a modern day Jonah's tale was necessary. It would have been interesting, though!

My belief is that many people want to do good when given a window of opportunity but that can easily be exploited and it is therefore crucial to never forget the basic principal under which a kind nature operates, which is to not be recognized, because otherwise it becomes a show and the egomaniacs start using it for their own gratification, alienating their actions from the purpose for self seeking.

This makes my heart hurt so much. Who knows how long this baby waited for someone to come along & help him. How did he eat that whole time? I just can’t 🥺😭 Why can’t humans be more careful with the things they are discarding? This poor animal is more than likely traumatized by the whole situation. So much so that it actually came to humans for help (with a situation humans caused) Thank God for sending somebody to be there at the right time & for giving that woman the bravery to help that sweet giant.

The Bible says, “if with all your heart you truly seek him you shall surely find him.” Just start talking to Jesus. Be willing to let go of/repent for sin and embrace Jesus as your savior.
