I’ve always wondered how a director directs a movie that they’re starring in. It must be quite a challenge. Full respect to Mel Gibson. Braveheart is a masterpiece. 👍

Awesome review! One of my all time favourites as well, you said it perfectly with all the set up and the pay off by the end it really is an epic film. I remember watching this for the first time about 2 years ago on a long car ride and when we stopped to get food I was very excited to get back in the car and keep driving because I was so invested in this film!! Due for a rewatch soon.

Fun fact: William Wallace's father and brother were killed at Loudon Hill, the same place where we see the final battle in 'Outlaw King'. I wish that had been mentioned in 'Braveheart' because that would've brought everything full circle. In fact, Wallace's first ever victory against England was at Loudon Hill.

In Seven, when Somerset and Tracy talk to each other in diner, where she tells him she's pregnant. The end of his story, where tells her to "spoil that kid every chance she get", I'm right there with Tracy, and I don't know why. But it gets me every time.

Glad, you loved it. It's one of my favourite movies too. I'm surprised you did not mention how beautiful the soundtrack is. The only thing I see differently is the villain. I don't like villains which I hate, I believe the villain is great if I like him more than hero and root for the villain instead, but I get your point.
@BrandoCritic
@BrandoCritic 3 года назад
I didn't? I could have sworn I did. Either way, James Horner made an amazing film score. However, but if you like the villain more than the hero, then shouldn't THEY be the hero of the movie?
@KdosdaHegen
@KdosdaHegen 3 года назад
@@BrandoCritic Well, I guess there's all sorts of types of great villains like it could be considered a great villain if he makes you hate him. It could be considered a great villain if he's doing bad deeds for the sake of good or it could be considered a great villain if he's so likable you'd want him to be the hero instead. Depends on the perspective I guess.

@hamitcampos4989
@hamitcampos4989 3 года назад
Yeah it's a good film. It was in middle school I first heard it as I only listen as i'm blind. I'm not big into chick flicks but I got turned on by Mandy. As for Brave Heart I watched it or more correctly listened to it when I went on a Mell Gibson bindge and sorry if I spelt that wrong but yeah after the passion. After The Passion of the Christ I binged on a few Mell films and Brave Heart was 1 of them. Yes most reviews focus on how incorrect it is. But as 1 reviewer pointed out the thing is that right or wrong people watch movies like this and take it as history. So when the thing is wrong as hell oops now people think this is true. I hope that's not so true. I mean it's a movie why would you take it as history? I cirtainally didn't. Well I didn't take it as set in stone. First cause again it's a movie. Next meh I didn't really know who Bill Walis really was. Now 1 real triggering review was even going so far as to say that this movie foments zenophobia against Brits. What say you? The dude kept going on and on Scotts good Brits evil. Man that reviewer really triggered me. Again because okay the movie is wrong as hell. But to minimize what England did to just kind of blow Edward off like meh he was crewell but what evs bruh. Really dude? Also again I am against Zinophobia and in this case I am against visiting the syns of the father on the son but bruh aincient England was evil as hell. This guy seemed to wana down play it because please please don't hate the English. Again yes okay come on Zinophobes enough today's brits aren't those Brits. But let's not play games here. Let's not pretend like the Brits are angels. They do have an evil history. So yeah that 1 review really really triggered me. Again because okay perhaps the movie goes over the top but bruh let's not downplay Edward. Also let's not down play what they did to Walis. Now to be balanced Walis was no teddie bare himself. Yo in a documentary I even heard he burnned a school with the little 1s still in it. That's sick. So okay Walis himself did some sicko stuff too but again that doesn't justify or minimize what England did either. It's 50 50 if you ask me.
