It’s not just you. They’ve really screwed with the render settings and it’s super buggy. It’s fucking awful in sim battles since there’s no nameplates so often you’re just following a smoke trail a couple km away but their jets just don’t render. The number of fights I’ve lost because the other player literally disappeared is absurd. I used to think I was just bad but then I started recording the gameplay and I’d catch them disappearing in front of me.

It isn't just you. It happens in props too.

​@@srtrollingtonb1265I'd say there will probably be similar amounts of both aircraft. For F-16, we have (currently): F-16A-10 x2, F-16A ADF x2, F-16A MLU, and F-16AJ. We're likely to see at least one variant of the F-16C (block 30 or 40) for the US and Israel. Then, there's the F-16I Sufa (also for Israel), and the Mitsubishi F-2A Viper Zero. So that'd be at least a total of 10, not counting premium or event F-16s (likely possible). For the F-15: US: F-15A, C, E Japan: F-15J, F-15J Kai Israel: F-15A Baz, F-15C Baz, F-15I Ra'am So that's a total of 8 (not counting premium or event F-15s, if possible)

I suppose in weapons and avionics, but the F-16 was known to give the F-15 a run for its money during BFM exercise.

Upward firing flares on Navy Phantoms are actually detrimental, redirecting missile back into the airframe, both front and rear aspect. When flying slow they shoot far enough to try to do their job, but as you approach/exceed mach, they effectively stay on engine level on launch. Basically to lose ANY IR missile at higher speeds these Phantoms need to flare, cut afterburner and do hard turn. Bottom launching flares usually suffice to just cut the afterburner, if even that.

im not defyn but im also curious. i mean bvr should completely change how players play the game, but honestly with how bad some players are they might still charge into dogfights. then it makes me curious as to which nation would be better, the US or the USSR. while the US has better electronics and seekers, they arent as important (or might not be modeled) as how many missiles the USSR jets like the Flanker could carry, and to take care of bad players going into dogfights, USSR jets would easily be the best with thrust vectoring. Dunno tbh, bvr will probably be game changing but bad players are always going to be in top tier so who knows really

@@noveled_1trust vectoring flankers were made by Russia, not the USSR.

It might change how the start of matches go, but if everyone just hugs the ground anyway I am not sure if it will be a monumental change

definitely, probably even before the year ends, aim 9M and R73 will come, i have a feeling gripen will come in fall update(possibly bringing amraams, but maybe not because not many nations have arh capable jets), then in december Su-27 and F15, or alternatively, Su-24 and F111

not much except stay extremely low, notching does not work on all radars/ missiles

@@outrun137 yeah, some radars (awg-9 on the tomcat especially) have small notch gate which means you need to be flying almost exactly 90 degrees from the enemy to break lock. In addition any competent enough pilot can switch off PD mode to continue tracking you if you're notching but high enough above the ground. Sad to say that this is a terrible time to stock grind any 3rd gen like the mig-21bis or the f-4e phantom, yesterday's top tier becomes today's punching bag

guy above me is half right, staying low is the safest option and totally doable in an IR Missile carrier like the 21bis. but you can also totally notch any (pulse doppler) radar at top tier. it becomes mostly intuition after a point though, but you can totally notch based on visuals alone, ive done it in jets that have no RWR. The main thing is figuring out exactly which enemy jet is locking you up, and from then I just try my hardest to line the bandit up right off the very tip of my wing, as if im pointing at him with it. it also is an extremely good idea to drop chaff at the same time as doing this-- chaff when dropped in a perfect notch is the most effective way to use chaff both ingame and irl

The key to radar missiles is to run away as soon as you see them coming at you. If yours is off the rails earlier and you’re not against the 27ER you have a chance, otherwise don’t try.
