It depends on what you're trying to do. Most of the time I dash for combos and I chase dodge to engage or disengage

Is there any way to shorten it?

Personally, as a low diamond, I've never had someone dodge through this if done right. But it always says 1 dodge frame in training mode

The reason why I don't use shipwreck is bc it's not in the tournament maps pool anymore

You have to Side light then N light then Dash holding down then N light. It's just easier holding down while you dash

Just keep practicing it and you will get use to it

Make sure you do the 2 moves before you try to extend the string! If you do 1 move then you're just going to chase dodge. So if you N-Light You do side light and then do side light again then you can keep going if you wanted to. You can even add other moves in it. You can use D-Light if you wanted to, it's just a little harder to land

I mean it's a pretty simple weapon to pick up. I am kinda bad at explaning some things at times. I do need to make a updated one tho since a lot has changed. I still hope you learned something

@Will K Thx man, I try to keep it nice and simple for you all. There are soooo many ways how you can use Gs strings, but I just wanted you guys to know how to do at least 2 long strings. You could start with any move and then use either of the 2 start-ups I showed in the video, and that way, you get way more mix ups

So after you dash, you have to input an attack so that way you don't chase dodge or dash too far. Just learn the timings, and you will get the hang of it

No, you really can't. Normal D light just isn't that good in general. If you want, you can start the combo off with D light, but I like starting off with N light or side light. With side light, you can side light into the cool D light, and it's a true combo. N light is such a good tool for grabbing people who are slightly above you. Now, with D light, it's kinda hard to implement it into a combo in the middle. You can start with D light if you wanted to, but I don't recommend it.

Since you're on controller, just pull your stick up when you do N-light. Or you can literally just let go of your stick when you do N-light but, I don't really recommend that. So just hold your stick up and do N-Light. Example Hold stick up N-Light, Side-Light, dash, Side-Light, into a D-light N-light or Side-light to finish it off. Just hold up whenever you do N-light

After every move you do you can only do certain moves for every string. Example If I do N-Light Side-Light I have to do Side-light for the extended combo. Then I can either go into D-light Side-Light or, I can go into N-light N-light.

Basically long story short there are certain moves you can only do in certain combos

Also another thing is, you can do N-light Side-Light Side-Light into a dash turn around N-light and go from there. Just so you can do more crazy shit

Also one more thing, and this thing is the MOST IMPORTANT thing to remember. If you do N-light Side-Light, you have to dash after the second attack and do the same move that you did on your second attack. So it would be N-light, SIde-Light, DASH, SIde-Light into another combo

That's bc when you do a Double N-Light you're basically doing a reset for the combo. So it's either bc of that or it's bc you're inputting too slow.

So if you do S-light into N-Light N-light you can either dash behind them and do a side light into another combo, or you can wait for your opponent to dodge and get a guaranteed 3 hit combo

It's literally the same thing. You can do this with controller as well. I play claw that's prob the only difference

Just remember if you start with N-Light you have to do double Side-Light, into your 3 piece combo. If you start with S-Light you do double N-light into your 3 piece combo. Just remember to dash cancel after your second hit then do the same move again, into the 3 piece
