After seeing a ton of Hawaii games these past few weeks. I noticed that there isn’t much chemistry between each other. Of course they’re also outsized but that doesn’t matter TOO much. They also seem to play TOO aggressive and look to muscling a shot up every time. Look to find the wide open teammate. There’s no shot clock in Hawaii I believe so scoring on almost every play from both sides should be no problem unless some foul or accidental move. Shooting is also a must especially at their sizes. I definitely have seen some big players recently but they’re way too slow. They need more speed and explosiveness. Passes need to be made with the mindset of looking to score. Not just to get the ball away from a defender that’s punishing you for dribbling too much. They look to just pass it to an open player or a player that’s near them. Unless that player is able to score from that position or if you are genuinely stuck with no dribbles. Don’t pass it. Dribbling needs to be done with absolute precision. Not just to dribble it. On a full court press. Don’t be so hasty to drive past them and DEFINITELY don’t run sideline. That’s an absolute easy way of getting trapped and causing a steal. With yall size, attacking the basket with an absolute easy score is a must. Not to just drive it in and pray the ball will go in. Sure, you could get a foul. But unless it’s a very convincing foul. It won’t get called. Hawaii players have solid game. Y’all AAU teams aren’t really bad, but decision making, confidence and having a true leader/floor general out there will give their gameplay a huge boost.

If you watched any of the games recently, then you would know there's a shot clock 😂. Mainland schools have a larger talent pool and coaches may actually be better overall because they played pro or played for a D1/D2 college program in the past, but these kids on-island do the best with what they're given. Despite any shortcomings, it's always up to how hungry the athlete is to pave their own path. There's a lot of variables to consider when analyzing the things they do and the things they don't. Moreover, basketball in Hawaii isn't a large market compared to mainland basketball. There's a lot more money involved there so the stakes are much higher. The pressure to perform is greater and so is the competition, which benefits everyone involved.

@@zettadigitalmedia808 Hawaii COULD play with the teams in the states if they play a certain way. The 4’s and 5’s are too slow. The key’s are too aggressive and need to learn how to dribble away from traffic and not into traffic. And better decision making such as creating open shots and lanes for players that are stronger in certain aspects such as allowing a 1 on 1 player to have space to work or have an off ball player get open for him to make a play. These things have been shown here and there in the gameplay I’ve watched. But not enough to solidify it being a true new aspect in hawaiis gameplay. Like I said, they have game. They just need to evolute to a higher field considering players nowadays are taller, faster and can shoot way better.
