its not just whole cities, it was an entire state the size of Spain for exemple, we have so far, 150.000 without housing, 750.000 affected, 100 dead, and many more to show up after the water goes away

More than 350 cities have been affected, some cities are more than 90% underwater. I live in the capital of Rio Grande do Sul, thankfully I live in a area that is very high and has not been directly affected, but some problems like food and water not being properly supplied are still here. Rio Grande do Sul is the size of Portugal, and half of it is being affected, it is even worse than what you poeple know, you have to be here to understand. With cities underwater, there are literally pirates emerging and robbing homes and robbing people who are on boats.

I live in southern Brazil, Curitiba city, and it is the hottest spring, summer and fall that I've ever seen. 30ºC during fall is not common at all. It is raining a lot in the north and southern from where I live, but here the rain became something rare. Very strange. In 50 years the world population doubled, during the 70's Brazilian population was around 90 million people, now is more than 209 million people. Humans are destroying the environment and mother nature are reacting.

That is why at present, no European leaders authorise a massive cut down of forests in their country and get away with it... but up to 50 years ago it was a different story. My aunt and uncle are stranded in Taquara, my brother lives in Porto Alegre and woke-up with his house under water and now is living in a friends place, my cousin was evacuated somewhere... and me and my family live in Uruguaiana where the waters are escoating... it's really scary... hundreds of cities destroied... rich and beautiful places and industries destroied... our state was a food producer and now all is destroied... it became hard to find food. It was like a tsunami in the form of rain. The geography of the place is also a contributor, I'd say - full of rivers.

This rains happens because we have the Amazon. If people look for the climate news, they will see the humidity for this rains come from the forest.

@@CibelliFogliato, de acordo com os meteorologistas, há uma massa de ar seco parada sobre o sudeste e centro-oeste. Ela está impedindo o avanço das frentes frias vindas da Argentina e direcionando a umidade quente da Amazônia toda para o Sul. O choque entre as frentes frias e a umidade quente amazônica é que está gerando esse excesso de chuvas.

O único padrão foi da incompetência das autoridades que sempre colocam culpa na natureza e não fizeram obras necessárias para se prevenir e mitigar, visto que não é novidade para ninguém que a região alaga HISTORICAMENTE! Agora um monte de político cínico colocando a culpa nas "mudanças climáticas" para desviar a atenção da própria incompetência e culpa (não só dos atuais mas também dos antecessores).

@@danillopetrova kkkk não tem padrão algum, cala a boca. Não é difícil imaginar enchentes no RS em caso de chuvas torrenciais incessantes se vc apenas olhar um mapa hidrográfico do estado. O problema foi não terem construído infraestrutura de prevenção. Tiveram mais de 80 anos pra isso (desde 1941 quando teve a última).

Deixa de ser ignorante cara !!! desde o dia 1 de maior o RS inteiro está sofrendo com as chuvas, os vales do rio taquari e caí já estavam inundados no dia 2 e foram completamente devastados até o dia 5. A região de Porto Alegre é só metade do caminho, e começou a receber as aguas bem depois ! Infelizmente essa catástrofe só ganhou projeção nacional quando chegou em Porto Alegre mas no dia 5 o RS já estava de joelhos !! O que causou essa catástrofe foi a massa de ar quente gigante vindo do norte que impediu que a massa de ar frio avançasse em direção ao resto do país. Esse choque entre as duas massa gera muito vapor que ficou acumulando e precipitando justamente sobre a serra e os vales, chovendo torrencialmente por 10 dias seguidos sem qualquer tréga, quantidades absurdas de agua na serra gaúcha ( Onde os rios nascem ) e nos vales. Pra você ter uma idéia em algumas cidades o acumulado de três horas correspondeu a 3 meses de chuva, mas oque causou a tragédia foi que choveu muito e por muito tempo !!!!
