Poachers are like pick pocketers, teens and individuals out to steal small amounts from other individuals. It's organized group, the petro (gas and crude oil) corporations, giant farming and fishing industries... as well as the governments themselves, through neglect and through forcibly taking lands from native groups, by moving them around, by isolating them on purpose to make them die out... those are the real few groups & entities to fear from... Historically, governments have been the most dangerous entities where Natives are concerned. You have some ways to deal with non-governmental groups and thieves; you have no power against a government that decides where you live. Most of the Native Americans in North America, for example, had been relocated to the less or least desirable places... but even then, they're not safe; if gold, oil, or diamond are found in those new places, the government could come and take it all or relocated powerless Natives again... or trick elders to sell the lands for "exploration"....
