Brazilian Battleship "Atlântico" Review - World of Warships Blitz 

Looks like CIC has updated the record, she now has better armour than a GK. That's frankly ridiculous for a T8, and explains why Tirpitz had such a hard time. I've put out a post, since that puts her firmly into OP territory, diverging from my conclusion of "powerful, but with weaknesses". I'll probably make a follow up video next week.

Can u imagine that even tier 9 bbs would still likely to lost against her, And also Even a noob player would get 65k average on this ship. really needed to nerf this ship so badly ngl, do you think they will nerfed her in the next update?

I think it's another case of "We'll drop something quite quirky or OP so you'll find a reason to buy it. Then we'll balance (synonym: nerf to the point of obscurity) it in the next patches." Other games have pulled this trick with their introduction of their new ship/tank/champion/weapon to cause some shake with the meta. But hey, don't let that stop you from buying if you enjoy the game and the ship yourself. In the end, what matters is that you truly enjoy what you do. Fair winds!

I’ve brawled one with the Odin (or rather the Cross of Dorn warhammer themed variant) a few times, and was surprised to have come out on top in most of them - but it’s highly situational, and having torp launchers that give quite good angles to fire when kiting away definitely helps. The Ignis Purgatio is the Tirpitz with a warhammer camo as far as I recall. Ship Smasha is one of the Russians, maybe the premium variant of the Vladivostok…

In Odin, I'd probably rush if they're alone, although I haven't tried yet. The gun layout is forward biased, and I'd probably load HE on the mains, drop the torps in close and then see what the AP can do at point blank. It'll all come down to manoeuvrability, and if they know how to react.

@@FunandGameswithTerry i think u probably need both torps set off and some support fire from teammates to brawl an atlantico even then im not sure,iirc slai brawled an odin(only one torp set tho) still atlantico 18k left and a dead odin. Atlantico armour is just 💀💀 better belt and deck armour than a GK.

Kagero threw. Him & CV were the only ones I was worried about. Once Kagero was gone, it was just a matter of slowly making my way over. I don't know how often I've seen this flank abandoned, which means you have to base trade. I always defend it when I'm spawning on that side, a single DD can delay a push there no problem. But yeah, that was kinda hilarious.

My process, after I receive a new ship for review, is to look at the stats, initial setup, one or two games against bots to test out gun behaviour etc, and then I'm recording usually around 5-10 games. Out of these, I pick two that best exemplify what I think the ship is about, and what it looks like played successfully. Then I do research on the background, see if I can find some images for the history section, go through some books etc. I don't take notes usually, so when it comes to recording the voiceover, that's all in one go. So yes, the battle voiceover is done post-recording. I pretty much still know what I was thinking at the time, or I can comment on my own blunders, but it's a lot easier to do that way, because I don't have to re-do it until I get a battle that can make it into the review, and I can record battles in places where I don't have my recording setup around, which saves me a lot of time. I also find that it's easier to do a fluent commentary when I don't have to focus on playing. The only exception are videos in the "unfiltered" category, that's more like recorded live streams.

I did have fun, you can tell 😜 I'd be careful with initial battle stats. New ship, most players are still learning what it can do, often the hard way. Give it a couple of weeks, and things might look a little different.

I have used the wrecking ball tactic several time testing the ship aka yolo. You must try. You go in shooting, and you wreck things. After you die, the enemy is in shock as your team moves in to mop up. It was about seeing what I could get away with. At brawling range, the main guns are punchy

@@conamer6738 that's funny...that was one of my first playstyle thoughts with this, but so far too many DDs showed up to make it worthwhile👍

That's what I generally do in German BBs. Battering ram, you're there to tank, distract, dps, die and leave a nice opening for your team.

Yep, powerful ship indeed. Very high resistance against AP of all sorts, but burns just the same

She’s not the first elite captain, but if there were two skills that you’d want boosted the ones she has are probably the ones I’d choose.

That's one of the new epic captains. They're not as legendary as legendary captains, and have only two "exceptional" skills. The secondary skill is definitely great, that's what von Hipper has as well, and the other one isn't terrible, either, although I'm not sure how much the fire prevention really does in practice.

Sailing broadside on to one of those in a DD is akin to doing that in range of a Vittorio.

I'm cautious with early stats like that. Yes, it's a very powerful ship, but early games, players don't know yet what she can do. Let's give it a bit, and see how it goes

I'm not sure if they will... Premiums tend not to change an awful lot, but I wouldn't be too surprised with this one, since the armour is pretty silly as it is

Fire and torp protection are worthless

You're sort of asking the wrong person, I'm pretty terrible at CVs. My (probably flawed) understanding is that the USN line is easiest to play, with focus on dive bombers, the IJN & RN take a bit more skill and the Germans have great AA & secondaries.

Yeah, the armour is a bit stupid. This annoys me from a historical perspective, since with secondaries that heavy, and 5 main turrets, there should have been no place to put that much armour, unless she did 16kt or so

I'm out hunting them this week, so far Aki & Odin have been successful, Richie struggles. They're very resistant to AP, but as susceptible to HE and torps as every other ship.

I’m getting real tired of them

I've been looking for them on NA, mainly to kill them all, but so far my best is 2 in the enemy team. I'll keep looking. Also, the test battles in the review are from way earlier, just after she was available on Press.

I'm not sure if they're going to nerf her, but we'll see. I'm curious to see them in battle on the enemy team, and to see how I can deal with them.

Fire is one of the ways to get that thing down. I'll have to play a bit later when I have time, if they're as common as everyone says this week, I'll probably bring Aki and Chappy

I don't know for certain, but I'm 99% sure you unlock all the paid levels as well. That's how it used to work when I was still paying for the pass. Maybe someone who's done it can confirm

I think a lot of people right now on both sides of the teams don't know that this thing can do, and more importantly, can't. We'll probably see Atlânticos trying to engage at long range, and people trying to brawl them in an Amagi.

I've made a community post as a follow-up, since CIC have corrected the deck armour value after I had recorded the video. Agreed that this ship is not balanced.

No worries. I recorded on Saturday, and just noticed today when replying to comments. I'd _really_ love a feature where I can put any ship as a stationary target into the training room to test out this kind of thing.
