This is an older update. But yeah, I have tested and so did some other people. Using conductive materials like copper will take less damage from lightning when it strikes it! Also make sure engines and fuel tank are also conductive and you could place your engines inside of your ship, to be more safe! I am not sure about wood thou, make sure top levels are metal.
