Hi everyone! Thanks so much for watching as always!!! Your support is really appreciated. I’d like to address a few comments that “I’m too hard on myself” etc, the truth is…I have been too hard on myself lately. It probably boils down to frustration. I’ve been working REALLY REALLY hard on my game recently off camera and I want to show you guys my improvement and that I can play at a really good standard. I get frustrated and I’m disappointed I can’t show you how my golf game is better than the last 12 months or so. Positive signs are coming, which is exciting but I need to be patient and accept it won’t just magically happen overnight. I’ll continue to work hard on my game. My plan for new videos I film in 2024 is to SMILE more and enjoy it. I know not just good golf but GREAT golf is round the corner. Thanks Rick

I know the feeling, I've been playing bad for 6-8 months now. To the point where I was thinking of just walking away from golf. But biting the bullet and getting golf lessons starting next week, long overdue. But I'm going to grind at it and trust the process 🤞

@@richardhenderson1902I would love to hear how many hours of UNINTERRUPTED practice time Rick gets in each week. Chipping, putting, 150 yards and in, etc. Speed training, stretching, and working out doesn't count as golf practice. If it's not a huge amount of hours then there you go. No need to be upset at shooting in the high 70s or low 80s from tee boxes intended for elite pros.

Rick I know its RU-vid, but LAY UP on par fives! Play to your strengths and leave yourself full wedge shots for birdie! Instead of having short pitch shots you're not as confident with! One of my favorite series out there much love!

@dannstarrjp
@dannstarrjp 3 месяца назад
Absolutely, par5s are all about playing to your strengths. You have a good short game? Try to get as close to the green as possible. 20-60yd pitch shots scare you? Don’t, play to 100 yards where your comfort zone is and you’ll still make birdies but most importantly you’ll make lots of pars and never really mess it up.
@Justins00ss
@Justins00ss 3 месяца назад
Literally came here to say this. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. 250 out he should be laying up for a full 100-120yd shot as he obviously can't chip or pitch worth a shit. He got lucky on that last par 5. I would've thought he would have definitely laid up for that one but had to pull 3 wood knowing damn well he can't hit it.

Ricky getting in the dumps about a 74 on break 75. You love golf because it is hard! You are also quite good at it. That course is rated 75.6/136 (brutal). Break the game up into physical (shot performance), course management (risk/ playing low probability shots), and mental (its how you take it, mate). Stop taking driver into 70 yard bunker shots and leave that 150 ish that you put to 5 feet. Cheers mate! All the best from snowy Colorado, USA!

I had the chipping, and pitching yips last summer. Not fun. I got to where I would stand over those shots with dread, and zero confidence. However, I sorted it out. It was literally a club path/attack angle issue. If you’re bottoming out behind the ball, which results in fats, and skulls, then you’re trying to take the club back too flat, and inside. Step closer to the ball at setup, and swing the club more along the target line. However, if your divots are too deep, and the ball is coming out too low, then you’re obviously overdoing it. Once you find the happy medium for strike, your confidence will return, and then you can focus solely on your landing spot again. You’re a good player, Rick. This can easily be overcome. Practice different takeaways, and attack angles from tight lies, until strike feels automatic. You’ll be back to your old self before you know it.

Are you serious? We have all noticed multiple times a cut right before the swing and a fixed divot near the ball in that half a second swing. The round with the Harry Potter actor is a good example. We all remember when him and guy were playing and guy hit it miles right on the 18 and they cut a ball on the green saying it's Guy's. Do you ever think it's weird when we see a shot go miles out of bounds but they magically find it 2 feet from out of bounds EVERY TIME? These main RU-vidrs aren't playing honest golf they play RU-vid golf. If you want authenticity, look at Not A Scratch Golfer.

Great round Rick. Good to see another Break 75! Par 5s were not your friend today and simple little things kept you from going low. Couple 3 putts that are not like you. I'd like to see you chip from off the greens more, but more importantly is your shot shape. I've watched you well enough to know your natural ball flight is a slight draw. Especially on the tee. Play the shot to your advantage? Line up at the right edge of the fairway and let your natural ball flight work in your favor? Your play in this round was really good!

Would be interested to see a video where Rick didn't allow himself go for them in two and didn't leave himself anything other than a full club into the green, allowing for mishits. Then you could compare the usual approach with this over two rounds on the same course and see how the scores compared. I think he'd be pleasantly surprised.

Hi Rick. Love your content. Keep it coming. I really enjoy the Break 75 videos. You an I share many of the same struggles in our games, which is why I feel the need to offer this opinion. I really think you need to force yourself to chip, rather than putt from off the green more often. You've received a lesson from the best short game coach and received tips from some of the best players in the world. I think you need to use what you've learned, embrace it and force yourself to use it. It's the only way you'll truly improve your short game. I look forward to seeing you improve your chipping. Congrats on breaking 75 pal! We all know it's in there. Getting it out is the hardest part and why we're all not +handicappers...lol. Love your pinned comment about smiling more. I saw the effort in this video to trying to be more positive. You stopped yourself a couple of times when you were about to say something negative. Love that! A couple of things that I doubt will get answered (simply because of the sheer volume of comments you get) but here goes anyway: I believe every single putt you missed was on the left side. Not sure if it's green reading or stroke related but something to look at. Maybe a change of putter will help the confidence part of your putting. Secondly, is that the latest Ping driver? You hit it very well aside from a couple of shots (which even the pros do).

The psychology of golf is wonderful. You had three birdies on par 3s yet got worried on the last about what became, after two shots, a fifty yard par 3. If you’d seen a fifty yard par 3 on the course without any bunkers you’d have wondered why such an easy hole. Positive thinking!

I don't have a problem with you being too hard on yourself, as we all are our own worst critics. I think it shows a relatable side that we can all relate to, which does help us out there on the course! Cheers to shooting 74!!!

As bob rotella says “fire your evil caddie” or Adam young says you need to have tool box of fixes for golf while your playing. But try to identify it early. Mixed bag of golf but still broke 75. Mission accomplished🤙🏽

Good to see you break 75 mate. Not your greatest striking round, but you battled through and succeeded at your aim. Well done.

Swing definitely looking much better, keep at it. One thing though that helped my game hugely, dont be afraid to play long beyond front pins, so often you leave your nemesis shots of these little short ones off the front of the green. Still loving the content

Strange watch that. Broke 75 which is the aim and something that has rarely happened in recent months, but I looked like you enjoyed very little of it. 74 round that place, probably never played the course before is good shooting man!

Good round Rick, you put too much pressure on yourself. Enjoy watching you play golf.

Rick I hope you're well my man. You don't quite seem yourself lately so I hope everything is good. Maybe I'm reading into it but either way hope all is well pal.

In a recent Podcast you said that your aim this year was for more speed. I watch all your videos & from what I've seen it's your short game that's costing you the most shots ! Or is it just me ?

Once again…as always, enjoyed your video 🙂 I did however notice that your back nine scoring on your final score card was wrong. You parred 16, not birded. You must have really wanted that 5 birdie goal ! 🤣

Great round Rick! Easily one of the best series on RU-vid! I'm sure this will get buried but small suggestion? The pump up music only playing when the birdies are rolling in really take away from some of the awesome shots, feel like you know it's in or not before the swing

Great round, Rick! Always love to see you break 75. I had hopes for an under par round after the front 9. I don’t think the negative self talk is bad. Some people, like myself, use negative self talk to challenge ourselves to do better. I suspect you’re the same. Anyways, I think there’s a few under par rounds coming this spring and summer 😉

RICK! Break75 is trending in the right direction! You say “weird round of golf” but you’re looking good! you’re staring to nit-pick the little things again, some very slightly missed putts, missing the fairway by a foot or two. looks to me like you’re aiming small and missing small. this round of golf was very good and you should be proud!
