That was a ridiculous video. Best 18 minutes of golf content ive ever watched. No gimmicks. Easy to understand. And just pure knowledge of the game. Need to see more of these! 👊🏽
I'm crap at golf but good at my day job I have taught many youngsters my trade. There's always a sense of satisfaction when they start to be able to do what they couldn't. And very occasionally you'll get "that" person who's skills surpass your own. As I've gotten older it no longer worries me as it means at least there's someone to pass my skills on after I'm gone. Anybody that loves what they do will derive great pleasure out of sharing their knowledge and skills with others.
@@beniteztheconman Who Rick? Most likely as he wasn't ever a tour Pro he was and still is a PGA pro which is basically a4HC or lower that decides to get a teaching qualification and turn professional as a Golf Tutor. I expect as RS found that his RU-vid channel was very lucrative he decided to make that his day job.
@@obiwan8177hes not doing the RU-vid thing for money. RU-vid Money is a neglectable fraction of his tournament and sponsor earnings. hes doing it for fun and to grow the game
@@obiwan8177 Even with 400K subscribers, that money is peanuts compared with the money he makes off golf and sponsors. So I do believe he loves doing this content, otherwise he would just not do it. Might be the worst hourly wage out of anything he does. Anyway, this content is great
He also has a kind way of explaining things. Golf can be “my natural talent is better than yours”. He seems willing to give out secrets without fear of repercussions.
@@benstrachan3418You can know everything a pro knows but the talent hard work has to match theirs to be like them which if had talent you aint got thr time to practice as much as they do.
@@mikec.2314His genuine enthusiasm for helping Rick improve was the thing that jumped out at me. Bryson absolutely loves the sound of a pure strike. I guess you have to be like that to make it to his level.
11:11 brings such a good vibe to the little lesson for Rick. Gotta keep spirits high when you're trying to change up your swing, and Bryson does so well in keeping Rick feeling comfortable and loose. The laugh was so contagious! 😂
Bryson definitely likes to share his knowledge through instruction. It's great to see him being so passionate about helping other golfers improve their game.
@@jms7050you come across pretty slow if you still can’t tell the difference in 2023 between a Tour Pro and a PGA Golf Pro. It’s like you are being ignorant on purpose just to hate. Sad
You missed the point I think it's great that he's getting a lesson I understand he's not a PGA Pro I just have a problem with the 50 videos he has telling everybody how to fix their swing
Bryson and Padraig Harrington. two guys i highly respect for so actively giving back to the golfing community via RU-vid despite being Major Winners who would have no reason or passion to do so otherwise.
I'm a rookie golf instructor, working my way toward a USGTF certification. I absolutely love the way you give lessons. The pure passion you feel when Rick hits that strike the way you know will ring his bell... you're literally excited about the shot and for him feeling, seeing, understanding why it worked. Just another reason you're my favorite Pro, by far.
With same length irons, would ball position be the same for a 9 iron as a 4 iron? If so, that might make them very appealing, and easier to master the low point in the swing.
@@Chris54321 Yes Bryson even said it himself. The Same length irons are meant to make him master one swing for all his clubs. It allows him to swing the same for his pitching wedge as his 4 iron. Beautiful idea and he executes it perfectly.
Bryson DeChambeau ... in my opinion one of the best analyzers of the swing and so good to help someone out. Love this. 🤘🏻😎🤘🏻 My next practice session will be from the bunker immediately.
Bryson’s lesson always makes sense. It’s way different when a tour player teaches a lesson. Up to the driving range and try this right away. Thanks Bryson!
It just shows how consistent of a ball striker you need to be to perform with the top players in golf. Rick is a great golfer and Bryson is phenomenal. Great video from 2 of my favorite people.
I actually really like Rick's swing he gets way too much stick for poor golf. Most of the people giving him that stick couldn't even shoot the scores he does. I wish I could play as badly as Rick does.
It's crazy to think about, but there's likely like ten levels between Rick and Bryson...but you have to be at their level, which hardly no one is, to know. There were quite a few guys here in Ventura county, Ca...who are promising etc...then just never make it past local mini-tours even...Korn Ferry is crazy high...and PGA etc....putting etal...insane.
@@wreckim Ignorance is bliss. I can go out hit every shot as best I can, sink every putt I expect to,and dance my way back to the club house with a 95. I only get upset when I think "well a good player would have shot 69"
Great energy from both guys, and loving the generosity of Bryson to share all the technical parts of golf he has learned, but be able to put that across in a relatable manner. Clearly a smart guy too
One of the things I've always loved about Rick is his honesty...the guy wears his heart on his sleeve. The look of absolute bliss on his face while Bryson was delivering the intro...priceless. 😂
It's not often I watch golf instruction videos and am able to properly understand/comprehend what I should try to do myself. This was brilliant and I'll definitely give that sand drill a try.
I love that the YT golf gang is banding together to help out the godfather of YT golf. Rick's been really struggling and not played with a smile, so it's good to see the right steps being made to set things right.
Not only Bryson has a huge expertise regarding golf swing, but he also is a very good teacher. I’m always impressed how pedagogue he is. He deserves to win the Player Impact Program for what everything he brings to the world of golf.
It does demonstrate why the top tour pros can almost take good ball striking out of the equation and their focus then is on aim points, wind direction/speed, landing area etc whereas for club golfers we are struggling with ball striking and this brings such inconsistency on distance that those other things become a secondary concern. If there is one thing that I have garnered from this and some other videos I have seen recently is that until I improve my ball striking 500% there is little value on working on much else. All my range practice is on mats or even on a mat with a net and rudimentary swing monitor. I need to spend a heap of time in our club’s practice bunker drawing lines in the sand. Might get some odd looks from the members wondering why I’m not hitting balls out of there😅
that drill literally is the BIG reason between pros and amateurs. ive seen a lot of amateurs that putts like wizards but they are very inconistent with hitting the ball. being a consistent ball striker is imo more important than trying to be the best driver or putter itw. bc that can help u get eagle and birdie puts for every hole on the golf course
@@robsengahay5614 Bro, don't give a crap about what they think. At the end you're the one who is going to be improving and getting better. Even if people look more than likely they are probably just curious to begin with.
The fact I can *HEAR* the difference in the ball flight after the lesson was phenomenal!! It truly has an amazing zip to it. Keep up the hard work, Rick! The k you for the amazing lesson, Bryson! 💜
Bryson, my nephew Ethan, met you a couple of years ago at the heritage and couldn't say enough good things about you. And your excitement when Rick would do that drill, correct was genuine. Best of luck to you and The Crushers. ❤ 💯 👍
Bryson, you are honestly the best! You give so much of your time, and it's greatly appreciated. The fans love seeing this side of you. Onwards and upwards buddy. Hope you win a major or two in 24.
This honestly was incredibly interesting, I’ve not seen someone explain the ground effect and connection to compression and strike in this way using a bunker. Super cool
There is no better sound than a pure struck iron, love it! I grew up practicing on an outdoor grass range and really struggle off range mats when practising so totally relate to this.
Love your channel Bryson! Love how you always want to make anyone better/understand the golf science better! I feel like any level of golfer you would help them all the same! Congrats on all your success, very very well deserved!
Right unique, wasn't it? So much fascinating stuff that I hadn't seen or heard quite that way before. Stating that every tour pro could make that pattern in the sand was edifying. That he could audibly detect the quality of strike on each shot was pretty amazing. Rick had some *beautiful* flight paths that garnered serious criticism. Such a cool look into - and from such a different angle - of how ridiculously good these guys are and how much work and how many reps there must have been for them to reach that level. And then Bryson, with his physics degree being able to look at things in such an objective and unique manner. Really makes me wonder how much interaction he's had with Mac O'Grady's ongoing "system". That now makes it clear to me who I'd like to see him give his next lesson to - Gary McCord. :-) Betting they could speak the same language. . .
So unique, love a different look at the same thing. The sand trick is just so easy to mimic and practice. I always worry about my divot depth, now I don’t care.
Bryson DeChambeau giving his time again! this guy is the most amazing golfer, loves the game of golf so much that he takes time out to help others play the wonderful game of GOLF....Golf is a game for boys, yet it breeds MEN. BRYSON IS THAT MAN. KUDOS SIR.
I'm really starting to dig this channel! The break 50 with Garrett was incredible. The wealth of knowledge Bryson dispenses is off the charts and helpful. One thing I noticed about this sand drill. Byrson always pushed sand away on the takeaway. Rick tended to pick his club up, which I'm wondering if that attributed to his lack of consistency in hitting the line...anyway, that's my two cents worth.
Yeah I noticed Bryson was pushing the sand away and Rick doesn't. Also seen Nelly Korda practicing by pushing away a ball on the ground, and the Moe Norman stuff @itsandbits1 . Must be something in it....?
For four years now I have been working on my technique to play better golf and have completely neglected to put any effort into low-point control. Seen hundreds of RU-vid instructions and this is the first time I've seen this drill, I'm sure I will do the same as Rick when I try it. Thank you, Bryson, your taking the time to teach us with people like the good good golf guys, Kyle Berkshire has been a real selfless tribute to your fans and the public and you don't care about any monetary gain for your effort.
I'm a long time fan of both you and Rick, so I thoroughly enjoyed this video. Bryson, you are actually a really great teacher. You are very patient, encouraging, and explain things very well. Great video!
Wow - very good. „Dig it out of the dirt“ makes more sense to me now! Love your energetic and motivational way to communicate. Its winter, I will make a line in the snow 😂
It's hard to describe how Bryson teaches, but it's almost like working "backwards" from perfection and marrying the persons swing to that middle point. It's refreshing to see someone teach without tying the student in knots with new swing thoughts. So compelling, I need more 😂
I'm absolutely convinced that golf pros teach the talented to become good golfers and teach everybody else just enough to make them come back and pay to correct the last faults they just taught them.
Absolutely loved this! so much I can’t take to my own lessons with my coach, really like Rick Shiels bare all videos, such honesty from Rick as usual allowing us to see his progress.
Bryson, magnificent golfer but he might be an even better teacher. That was a fantastic and really informative video. It is interesting the more we understand about the mechanics of a golf swing how often we end up going back to history of older players - Seve learnt to play golf by practising on his local beaches, and now we have Bryson teaching us to do the same.
Bryson - on the first sand drill…not taking into account all of the practice and reps you have, how much would you account having the one length irons in helping with your consistent ball striking?
I'd class myself as a complete and utter novice golfer after playing for the last 5 or 6 years, I've recently switched to some Cobra F8 One-Length irons... And with out doubt my consistency in ball striking is 100% better than my old irons... So for bryson? I'd say definitely...
I haven't seen a ton of your videos but I have liked everything I've watched. I really like the way you explain what you should be feeling in the swing. The bunker drill and the feeling of pressure on the inner back foot makes so much more sense. I'll be tuning in for more content.
