Poor Britney - this song was released as a single a month after she was hospitalized and put under the conservatorship. From AbsoluteBritney: "Britney had planned a dance sequence on a chair for the, ‘Break The ice’ video, but the video was never shot, due to personal problems at that time, so the idea was scrapped and an animated video was made instead. Britney was unhappy about how her last 2 music videos turned out and wanted to take control and she immediately booked in dance lessons for the new music video. Unfortunately, things took a negative turn and it was not used."
That’s so sad. Britney is amazing I feel horrible for how she has been treated. I often think about that South Park episode and how it may have had some underlying message in there and then at the end when the south park world turns it’s attention to miley cyrus on the tv … hmmm.. the. That black mirror episode with miley in it was almost trying to tell the story for us then we learn about what was happening to Britney at the same time. This record was supposed to be the first single off of the album but the label shied away from it bc it they thought it was “too urban” for a lead single. They chose “Gimme More” instead. But its cool knowing the context bc Brit had the intentions of this being first single “It’s been a while. I shouldn’t have kept you waiting…. But I’m here now”
That's great to know. I knew it sounded like an era opener. I personally think it works better if moved as the album opener with Gimme More following it as track 2.
Wow, I didn't realise how complex and intricate this song was with so many vocal, instrumental and special effect layers and levels. I didn't realise Keri Hilson contributed a lot to the backing vocals. I knew she was a songwriter here. Thanks for taking the time to break this song down. Amazing production - genius level! And they all understood and delivered on the assignment. Only bit I didn't like were the 'alien' sounds - made my chest hurt 👽😖 Surprised this didn't chart better - maybe it could have been released as the lead single especially as it was soon after Britney's breakdown exposure. The song message and anime would have been on point for a first single from the album as her comeback at the time!

100+ layers of bg vocals is worth it for those sweet harmonies I think Gaga would be another great artist for that, lots of stuff going on in the background, though idk how easy it'd be to get the stems
Absolutely! I would LOVE some Gaga. All I can get of hers is files from Rock Band and Guitar hero which is disappointing I want to here it deeper than the 4 stems that those games provide. If you ever find anything let me know
I love this song. Keri Hilson’s vocal and writing style is all over this track, I adore the vocal production on this track. I might get some hate for this but I always felt, and still do feel, that this electro r&b cut would have been better placed with an R&B artist on an R&B album. Maybe for one of Hilson’s own albums. It wouldnt have been out of place on Keri’s albums and would likely have been a bigger hit for Hilson on r&b charts than it was for Britney on pop charts. Although I do love a bit of r&b Britney too!

I believe the backstory for this song is Keri Hilson recorded a full demo version of the song and they kept all her background vocals whilst having Britney record some of her own backgrounds as well. That vocal part you mentioned was sung by Jim as well. Jim Beanz is a big time producer, vocal producer, and singer-singwriter. That’s where I exported these ones from inhale the original Pro tools session with all the fader automation and plugins used on the track on it it’s just that the computer that pro tools is on is really bad and slow. If people want to see that I should make a patreon so people can pay for pro tools for me haha
Hey there a crossfade is when you turn the volume down on something at the same time as you turn the volume up on something else usually to replace the sound you’re fading out. It crosses over the old sound into the new. And the volume change is done with the faders on a mixing console hence cross-fade.
Can someone help me with where i can purchase or get all these multitracks? I work with teenage drug addicts and we use music as therapy to help them with their addictions. We want to be able to have these kids remix some of the songs that they all know so well.
This came from that exact pro tools session. haha I had to render everything out from that mess. took me a while to get it right but if i can do it you can to! (theres a bunch of muted clips you can just unmute which is really handy).

@@luffegun Of course! From what I’ve heard, there was a dispute between RU-vid and SESAC with their copyrighted songs. RU-vid’s contract with SESAC expired while they were making a deal, causing many artist’s songs on RU-vid, (including some of Britney Spears’s songs) to be blocked by SESAC. Only US residents aren’t able to see some of the songs because of the dispute. But, I do believe they are trying to make a new deal with SESAC.
