This week's topic is Breakfast! Follow Nick: @nicksmith09 linktr.ee/nick... Follow Matteo: linktr.ee/Matt... Produced by Chris Caso: / chris.mp4 #podcast #gay #nyc #comedy #comedyvideo
Ah, Nick, the time-traveling enthusiast, strikes again! Apparently, Nick's secret to mastering time management could be simple: he needs a timer to start the timer.
I like my cereal about 2 minutes after I pour the milk … it’s a little softer but not soggy. Also I had the best French toast of my life in Florida- they put orange zest in the batter, on thick Texas toast. The best !
Matteo, for your further education. “Breakfast is the most important meal of the day” was a motto that Kellogg came up with when they started to advertise their sugar loaded “cereal” breakfasts. It is not the most important meal of the day.
Nick: "As a kid, I liked it in the morning. Now I view [cereal] as a dessert." YES I couldn't agree more! Also Nick: "I only like soggy cereal." I've never felt so disgusted and betrayed in less than 10 seconds.
The slogan "breakfast is the most important meal of the day" is a marketing campaign used by cereal manufacturers to encourage people to eat their breakfast. The slogan was coined in the 19th century by James Caleb Jackson and John Harvey Kellogg to sell their breakfast cereal.
The emotional whiplash i just experienced. I am riding with Nick on the "put the blueberries INTO the pancake" one moment, and then the next I'm DYING with his "I eat SOGGY CEREAL"! My heart palpitations are off the charts hearing him say. he watches his cereal sit there and get soggy (like some kind of serial killer)!
I've known Matteo's work for years and always been a huge fan. I recently discovered this podcast and binge-watched it in 2 days. I'm so glad Nick got randomly attached to a group of comedians. It's hard to believe he is not in the business is so damn funny.
Grits are made from ground dried hominy corn. Polenta is made from ground dried corn. Never had a good biscuit in the north. Biscuits are to the south as bagels are to NYC.
One time I trolled a Northerner friend who asked where grits came from. I told her that in the South, we have grit trees, and you have to go pick each individual grit off the tree.
Immediately smashed the thumbs up based solely on Nick's blouse Update: just tried to smash it repeatedly when the Correct Bacon Opinions came up, YES EXTRA CRISPY is the only way
The way every episode starts and I’m like.. “start the timer…start the timer…start the timer….oh maybe they finally got someone else to keep time….oh nope 😂”
Oh my gosh, loving salmon, bagels, roasted with capers, red onions. I’m just throwing stuff out there while you guys are talking on my way to work love it.
Grits are ground corn, much like polenta. Favorite savory breakfast: Biscuit with Virginia Country Ham. Favorite sweet breakfast: French toast for the win, Nick ! No flabby bacon, tyvm Matteo and Nick!!
A couple years ago, I splurged on a waffle maker like the kind they have in the breakfast area of hotels (the kind you fill and flip upside-down) and they are SO GOOD because the Belgian waffles are super hot and crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside.
Matteo, I live in Chicago and that IHOP you mentioned is still there. When you did the boystown tour video you didn't go down Halsted far enough to see it. Love you both 💓
I enjoyed the episode, and when it comes to bacon, I like it medium cooked. As for breakfast cereals, my go-to would be Honey Nut Cheerios, Cocoa Pebbles, or Graham Cracker cereal. I agree with Matteo that if the eggs aren't cooked properly its a complete turn away from wanting to eat them. I will look forward to another episode and wish you both continued success.
Here's a thought, I understand a lot of people's excuse for eating fast food, specifically MD's, is for how good it tastes. In essence therefore, if it was sludge and diarrhea and dirty tampons for a sewer that had enough of the right synthetic chemicals added to it to make it taste better than the real thing, they'd eat it anyway! "Well there are laws in place and they gave a good faith statement." Have you ever heard of loopholes or deception. Given the history of this multi-trillion dollar food industry and the many dark practices that have gone into it, I wouldn't bat an eyelash if they were actually feeding people sewage. They're way smarter and have deeper understanding of human psychology and marketing than the average person. They spend billions to hire professional teams specifically for that. You mean to tell me their just going to be open and honest about what's in it? That'd be giving away their trade secrets and they didn't become a multi-billion dollar company by giving away secrets and not cutting some throats along the way. These industries play dirtier behind the scenes than many people realize, it's not just the saturated fat in their foods that's bad for you. They didn't get to where they are by being honest. They could be feeding chemical injected sewage to people and their kids and what's worse is you don't even know if that's true or not. Did you know that in a chemical lab, it's possible to turn a latex glove into grape soda?! Just saying. Even knowing what it's made from, some of yall would still eat it cause it tastes good. Well I prefer to live long and prosper, not short and chronically/terminally ill. People who eat MD's live for the moment, I live for a future legacy.
Omg he is having a good convo about food with an Anorexic Vampire with OCD and interesting voice! 😂😢 Sorry for being mean But I agree with extra crispy bacon and that McDonalds has pretty good Biscuits 😅
breakfast is a capitalist construct; cereal is very much more a dessert; and nick slays these blouses- my fave is the deep purple? (colourblind, it was either dark navy, or a deep purple, was more drawn to the pattern, texture and design which was to die for) one with the black pants-all in all, nick devoured this episode like a bowl of soggy cereal 🔥🔥🔥🏴🤖
Grits is from corn, but what part of the cob is a mystery. In that way, grits is the scrapple of hot cereals. And it makes me feel like a rebel because grammatically it's singular, not a plural. Grits is wild that way. Cook it looow and slooow, with garlic and onion powders, some salt and pepper, and some sharp cheese tossed in at the end, and serve it as a bed for a crispy over-medium egg, fried with extra salted butter, which you pour over the egg and onto the grits. Then shake on Cholula. Omnomnom! And I like my scrapple cut thin and overcooked, super crispy everywhere, with ketchup. And OH! Cereal on vanilla ice cream, definitely a late night snack. My mom used to say "evidently." Thanks for the memory. ❤
NICK!!!! OMG I thought I would never find another human in this lifetime who loves soggy cereal! 💖❤💖 The integration of flavors with the milk is such a bonus too! I never understand why people eat their cereal immediately. It's just like eating it separately and the milk separately. Though an integral part of this philosophy is having cocoa cereal to get the best milk ever! Still, 😘😘😘 from California
Every episode I wait to see if they’ll forget to hit the timer in hopes that we’ll get a longer episode if they do. Today they forgot, and it was a shorter episode! I’m devastated😔
