The problem is then the money goes away for the talent around him. Goff, Hurts and Purdy have all been to a superbowl. Purdy is going to get a bag too. It's what the market is now.
He will have his media contacts on speed dial, with stories about how he's a locker room cancer. Remember when he got Deion Sanders to say that in 2015? Sanders isn't in the media anymore, but there's someone out there.
Especially when Purdy plays behind 3 backups on the right side of the OL and an average at best LG who only plays well beside a 36 yr old LT. Lions also got better weapons based off the simple fact that LaPorta isn't used as a blocker and their receivers can run routes and have speed.
Purdy is absolutely going to get a big contract but I feel like if it came down to it, he would willingly take less than some of these other QB’s if it meant helping the team’s salary cap. He’s a team player and an incredibly humble guy so I wouldn’t be surprised if he sacrificed his salary for the team’s success
@@rubenmycox Yes but a 200 million dollar deal is not something a guy like Purdy would be adamant about. It’s very clear his religious faith is much bigger than football and monetary gain.
If I were him and the 49ers tried to play that game, I'd counter with Banks/Brendel/Burford/McKivitz is where that discount is going? That overpaid DL? A RB at receiver who can't run routes? Also saving their asses on the Lance trade that should've gotten them fired.
Given the narrative out there about the talents around him being the reason why he's so good, I wonder if the GMs around the league feel the same way? If so, his market value may take a hit as a result.
Tom Brady has lost some Super Bowls due to big-time quarterback play by Eli Manning Brock Purdy lost his first Super Bowl due to poor coaching by Kyle Shanahan in the second half other than that he would’ve had a Super Bowl they need to trade or fire Shanahan
@@Leo-ii8nb gave it away three times with Atlanta as often to coordinator the first time making Jimmy Jimmy Garoppolo throwing the second half against the Chiefs when we had a 12 point lead and again with Brock Purdy in the second half going three for 13 on third down conversions all in one half after having a 12 point lead another choke fumble whatever you wanna call it Shanahan needs to go
Goddamn it’s Purdy has a great year and when’s the Super Bowl? I wouldn’t doubt if his price tag went up to 60 million how absurd would that be not saying he don’t deserve it but damn man we were just on a rookie deal and all of a sudden he got paid that man 60 million that’s crazy.
Everyone is assuming Brock is gunna be asking for the house but I have a feeling he’ll be taking a pay cut to allow the team to sign FA and keep talent around him.
What talent? They refuse to protect him with even an average OL. The 2nd best TE in the league is reduced to a blocker role because of this. We don't know if WR1 can handle that title when he has to be "the man". The WR2 is a RB who can't run routes. Overpaid DL. He should probably charge interest for saving the FO/HC's jobs.
That was a big mistake lions just killed their chances of returning to the nfc championship and going to the Super Bowl rams did the same thing the year after Goff went to the super bowl and they never returned because can't pay everyone so your qb become the one who has to shoulder everything
If you don't pay people, you're asking for an infinite reset. Like it or not, QBs get the bank and you have to do your best to fill out the rest around them. So many 9er fans talking crap, but we're paying our players you guys haven't even paid your WR yet. And if you don't pay them, do you really think you're going to get back?
