Hey there @GolfSideKick, watching some of your videos for a while now, fully committed to take my ego out of my game (which meant suicide of the tee). I just shot 77 for the first time in the 70’s in 15 years. Thank you so much. My enjoyment was draining away but now I have the joy back!!

I admire you for being able to handle 40+ degrees C. Here in Finland it's been around 23-25 degrees and I'm sweating through my clothes! I'm comfortable at around 17-18 if I'm golfing. One positive thing about Finnish summer is that this time of year the sun doesn't set until after 11PM, so you can enjoy a nice, quiet evening round of golf with plenty of light!

Matty, as always, your videos are a great reminder - golf should be enjoyable, relaxing. I always try to channel that enjoyment of a beautiful day spent outside away from life's troubles during my round, but seeing the playa-in-chief embody that in a vid is always appreciated. At 10:00..."getting your short game in order." When I added 15 yards to my drive, I probably shaved off 3 strokes. When I got pretty decent at chipping, I probably shaved off 5-6. This guy is somewhere between a zen master and Dean Martin.

Awesome that you are coming to Finland! It has been pretty hot here for the last 2 weeks. Around 25-30 celsius and no rain so the greens are at some courses in pretty bad shape and they are hard and quick. Fairways might be a little burnt too because of the sun but you can manage. Do you know what courses are you gonna play?

I am curious why you tee off with your 4 iron so much. For example on hole 6 it is 442 yards but you use 4 iron, leaving you with 198 yards for your second shot. Wouldn't it be a higher percentage play to at least use a wood or 2/3 hybrid assuming you do not want to use driver?

I recently saw some stats showing how 3, 4, and 5 woods aren't typically much safer off the tee than drivers. I'm not nearly as skilled as @GolfSidekick, but my 4 iron is also my go-to off the tee.

At a local open I made the same mistake over 32 holes. I kept hitting driver on a shorter course leaving myself 20-40m shots in every time. I would have no clue what I’m doing over the ball at that distance. I shot 107,101. Those 6 shots I improved on hole 33,34,35,36. When I finally decided to shorten every tee shot except par 3’s ofcourse. No driver. If I had done that the whole weekend I could have easily been sub 90. Complete idiocracy.

@@GolfSidekick I’ve got a monthly medal at the club this weekend and I’ve watched enough of your vids now to apply this weekend. I will report back on this comment Saturday evening based on what I’ve seen from you. I am an 18hc and looking to play 90. So I will use the same methodology in your breaking 100 series (never played like that before) and just adapt to play to the ‘new’ par I need to shoot 90 and getting to my favorite distances instead of spraying it up there. I’m looking forward to it.

Do you have a recommendation between the 301CBs and 201 Takomo Irons? I am a mid 80's golfer. I've been leaning towards the 201s bc they're more forgiving and I don't want to go with the 101's but the 301CBs definitely sound nice as well.
