This is such a basic and gormless take Why didn't Chev put in a team proposal? I would have been successful. F1 doesn't want another privateer. Andretti was NOT competing with Haas for a place. That angle is just delusional. The FIA took Andretti's proposal ONLY - it seems sus - and forced F1 to look at it. F1 wants works tram, not privateers. If you know anything about the sport you would know F1 don't want another privateer. Why didn't Chev put in a proposal? No commitment? Your take is just a repeat of reddit circle jerks. If Gene Haas is only interested in advertising his company, he should just sell the team to Andretti and become their title sponsor.
@QwoaX
@QwoaX 8 месяцев назад
@@cerdic9 Andretti doesn't need Haas' team, they just need an entry, which will cost 600M per default if not more with the gatekeeping going on. They may as well pay that to get a newly minted one. Plus, Gene Haas will probably want some money for his then useless F1 infrastructure and severence pay for his employees. Haas would be better off selling his team to an investor or a bigger brand, like a car manufacturer that can make better use of their spot on the grid. Edit: Also you have to consider that if Gene Haas doesn't sell his team and Andretti pays the 600M, he gets a 60M split from it. That's some slick money for basically nothing, that he and other backmarker teams can use against Andretti to not be the last team on the grid.

This is genius. The longer F1 dinks around approving them, the longer Andretti has to make a winning car and not have it be on the books for development. Win/win. As an American who has almost given up on F1, Andretti is probably the only thing that just might keep me around at this point.

While F1 will unfortunately have more US races, teams who want to be competitive will still be based in Europe. Europe is closer to the ME where a number of rounds are held as well as there being a significant portion of the mid season in Europe. There is already room for Andretti no matter what the other teams say. They all signed the Concorde agreement that states up to 12 teams can enter F1. So Dominicali just tell the 10 teams this very simple fact or suggest seriously he will remove a current team unless uphold the agreement they already signed, simple! F1 or FOM are just plain scared of Andretti coming in and blowing away most of the current teams within 2 seasons. Especially Mercedes and McLaren. Red Bull and possibly Ferrari are the only current teams who would be ahead. McLaren would a laughing stock if Andretti comes in and produces a great car using the wind tunnel McLaren stated wasn’t good enough to build a good car. Zac Brown should be ignored as he isn’t a team owner, or even a team manager. They are .middle East owned with a Spanish team manager. No sure where motor mouth Brown actually fits into the hierarchy. He doesn’t design anything, or build anything and the team have never made their own power unit. So good were they that even with the Honda engine they couldn’t build a car round it. Red Bull managed quick enough to show them what a great package it was and still is. Mercedes are just on the slippery slope downwards as is evidenced by the loss of sponsors. Ineos isn’t a sponsor, they own one third of the team, Wolff has a part ownership and Mercedes parent company Daimler pulled their sponsorship!

My full 2025 grid predictions assuming Andretti is approved: Red Bull: Max Verstappen: contracted until the end of 2028. Carlos Sainz: I think Helmut might gamble on the RB junior who got away, and I could see Carlos go for it if only to escape the Ferrari shenanigans. Mercedes: [nothing to see here] Lewis Hamilton: contracted until the end of 2025. George Russel: contracted until the end of 2025. Ferrari: Charles Leclerc: contracted until the heat death of the universe. Valterri Bottas: Ferrari needs a good qualifier who can play rear gunner for Charles, a dependable #2, someone to bring the car home when Charles bins it, and a seat warmer while Bearman graduates from F2. That is Bottas. We know Fred Vasseur rates Bottas very highly, so I think it's possible so long as Bottas performs. McLaren: [nothing to see here] Lando Norris: contracted until who knows when. Oscar Piastri: contracted until the end of 2026. Aston Martin: Fernando Alonso: there's not a single chance that AMR doesn't take their option for one more year with 'nando. Yuki Tsunoda: Lance goes to WEC, Yuki comes in ahead of Honda's arival the following year. Alpine: Pierre Gasly: Alpine would have a hard time not not extending at least one of their current drivers and Gasly performed better and isn't managed by Toto Wolf. Nico Hulkenberg: Nico has his eyes on moving up the grid, and he's a less incident prone driver than Ocon. Williams: Alex Albon: Williams would be stupid to not do everything it can to keep him, and Albon probably can't keep his team leader status if he moves elsewhere. Esteban Ocon: Toto won't let his client fall off the grid, and Toto has also said he won't rush Kimi Antonelli into F1 the way he'd rushed George in. Williams is a Mercedes proxy would be dumb to turn down the service of a race winner. the team formerly known as Minardi: Danny Ric: He isn't making the step up to Red Bull, but I don't think he'll fall off the grid either. Liam Lawson: Helmut Marko has said Liam will be in one of the Red Bull owned seats in 2025, and his 2023 performance definitely warrants that. Sauber: Guanyu Zhou: Not an exciting driver, but capable enough that it's probably not worth kicking him (and his sponsors) before the grand Audi rebuild begins. Sergio Perez: Sauber needs that sponsorship dosh. Haas: Kevin Magnussen: Unless he has a really bad year (in which case Haas' new team principle might give RoGro a third shot at F1) I can't see Haas turn on their old-reliable-ish driver. Oli Bearman: Ferrari's new golden boy, who has been the darling of the Haas garage at all his test drives. Cadillac Andretti Global: Logan Sargent: If Andretti really wants an American in the line up, it's Sargent or Rossi. To the best of my knowledge no other American has a current superlicence. Marcus Ericson: The only driver in the Andretti stable who has a superlicence. Honestly though he definitely deserves another chance at F1.

The sport is at a point where a team that isn’t even in the sport has more support and brings more to the sport than a quarter of the grid. Haas been involved with 50% of the controversies past 5 years and happy being “ Ferrari lite”. Stake F1 is laughable considering at a big chunk of the races you can’t even mention the team name. Visa Cashapp rb is a team with pretty much 0 brand identity and universally so hated that it caused their Instagram to be deactivated for awhile. Andretti however are a MOTORSPORT team that been involved with Formula E, Rally, extreme E, Indycar and IMSA. They’re bringing Gainesbridge sponsorship who been throwing ALOT of money in motorsport helping Spire Motorsport in NASCAR grow to the likes of trackhouse. Even GM backing them with their flagship luxury brand who Cadillac become a cult icon with the hypercar program.

Everyone knows F1 doesn't want them in because they pose a genuine threat to the status quo. Team Lotus, Virgin Racing and HRT? The teams rallied against the 2010 cost cap and oFfErEd SuPpOrT to help them out. What happened? HRT fold in 2012, Caterham in 2014, Manor in 2015. None of them ever posed a threat. Haas were supposed to be the next back-markers, but in 2016 they came out of the gates flying then suddenly "Haas' relationship with Ferrari is ruining the sport!". Sadly, Haas have largely orchestrated their own downfall. Andretti, though? They are the biggest threat ever. A genuine threat. I sincerely hope that Andretti manage to get in and tear the sport apart.

Small Correction: Andretti has been with Formula since the first season in 2014. But they certainly didn't take long to become super-competitive. When there was the massive influx of manufacturers in Season 5, they partnered with BMW and were immediately able to capitalize on that to win the opening race of the season, and by Season 7, they were beginning to take the championship down to the final race alongside other major outfits like Mercedes and Jaguar. Avalanche become their title sponsor in Season 8 after BMW pulled out of the series, one year before they actually took the driver's championship with Jake Dennis. But this certainly doesn't take away from your point: Andretti take things seriously, and are an absolute force to be reckoned with!

That’s the actual reason the teams don’t want them in… the $ is a smoke screen. The core of f1 is the engineering personnel and the big teams saw some of their staff walk to the new project after they had to go thru a reduction in head count… that’s normally the opening phase of a company/race team dropping off a cliff and they are trying to prevent it from continuing.

The longer they drag this out, the more Americans that love the sport are gonna find themselves backing Andretti. Being one i can say, Im not a brand fan, I like certain drivers. That being said, I've never been an Andretti fan or Haas fan, but, the more you try to keep someome down, the more you have people rooting for them, especially when they havent done anything wrong. Americans who never has a proper home team to root for may very well jump ship from Merc and other teams just because of Toto's and the likes attitudes. Just saying, every day I find myself rooting for Andretti just a little more than i did the day before.

With a 2026 entry they will be subject to the new concord agreement and the anti dilution fee will be a lot more than $200million! The sponsors are sponsoring Andretti thats of no value to other teams. Zak Brown who is a friend of Andretti when asked last foes he support their entry. His answer was well nobody knows what their entry involves. We are in the dark so I will make my mind up when I know what they are bringing. Why is Andretti not talking to the teams? Liberty media wont give money to teams. Cadillac have said they will build an engine but only if Andretti is accepted. If Andretti is accepted I bet GM will say there has been a global slow down so the engine has had to be put on the back burner . They have said they wont supply another team. Its all very fishy especially when you look at the engines currently in IMSA cars.

Just imagine the monumental trouble that the FOM gets into if it boycotts the F1 broadcast with Andretti's cars. It would be perceived in the USA as an anti-USA act. And we talk about the country of demands. All TV services contracted by users to WATCH THE F1 RACE (with the cars.. all..) could be claimed and sued for not complying with what was contracted. to those F1 fans who still don't get how Andretti is. Jake Dennis, one of their drivers for Formula E, is the reigning world champion, and they were 3rd in the teams standings last season, only trailing behind Envision (Jaguar customer team) and Jaguar itself, they even beat Porsche, which Andretti is the customer team of. Andretti is a quality team, they aren't a manufacturer but they act like one, they even act better than most manufacturers tbh. F1 is missing out if, big time, if they don't let Andretti in, especially with GM already gearing up to be an F1 power unit manufacturer.

At this point, I think there is not even any room for debate. Andretti IS ready in all capacities. They are already in other motorsport categories like the ones of McLaren. So, either with the spot of Haas or as an 11th team, they should be welcomed to F1 already. We don't want new street circuits and stuff, we want more teams, more competition, so that more drivers can show their skills and do not have to wait and see their careers go by in test driving roles.
