Even Saskatoon would be a viable option for many many reasons including their upcoming new NHL class arena... The existing barn is large enough but really really basic...
As much as I hope the Coyotes will still stay in Arizona, I think they will be moving to another city. Playing in a college arena that holds only 5,000 people is patently ridiculous. The only way I see the team staying in Arizona is a totally privately funded 17,000 to 18,000 seat is built.
Rebuilding Copps to a better quality but it was always an NHL class arena since that's what it was always built to attract! And of course attendance would be out of this world!
It seems that Mr Gary B is holding on to AZ having a NHL Franchise like his life depends on it. i been hearing a lot of rumblings on Salt Lake City and Houston 🤷🏼♂️… Maybe The Coyotes would benefit from a move to a different City.
Coyotes are not moving from Phoenix if Salt Lake City wants a team then get the Vancouver Canucks to move to Utah as my boy Gary betman priorities the US Market.
Next season, the Arizona Coyotes will play at least one more season at Mullett Arena in Tempe. On May 19, 2025, Alex Meruelo will sell the Coyotes to Houston Rockets owner Tilman Fertitta for $1.72 billion, including a relocation fee of $195 million to relocate the Coyotes to Houston. On June 24, the NHL Board of Governors will approve both the sale and relocation of the Coyotes to Houston in a 31-1 vote. As a result, the Coyotes will relocate to Houston after 29 seasons in the Phoenix area to become the Outlaws and play their home games at Toyota Center in the 2025-26 NHL season.
As an AZ resident and huge hockey fan I'd love to see the team move to anywhere else rather than heist a local city for squandered tax dollars....Please , Please leave my state!!
As much as I'd like to believe, to try to grow ice hockey in Arizona, the Yotes will remain in that state and that moving that team from that state is IMO an absolute last resort, that last resort appears closer than it was at any point after the Tempe referendum was announced, but before the 👎via a relevant referendum.
Just because they've been there for 28 years doesn't mean they won't relocate them. Look what happened to the stars and jets.arizona doesn't have the fan base other city have and it's not betmann if the team wants to stay the owners and city and owners should get there head out of their ass figure out a deal done to build a new stadium
But since when does arizona people like hockey. Never. That was an nhl invention. It dont matter if they construct the latest state of the art arena. People in arizona DO NOT DIG HOCKEY.
@@JeffWinters-cd1mt They lost millions because the ownership was suing one another and did not want the team. Plus, they owned the Atlanta Hawks and allocated most of their money to them. Learn the facts, son.
@@stickynorth You're out of your mind. All of those are baby cities, especially Saskatoon. Furthermore, neither Atlanta NHL team left on account of fan support. It was on unfortunate ownership circumstances that has no reflection on this market, no more than the Supersonics leaving is a reflection of the validity of basketball in Seattle.
