I feel like THIS scene right here is the perfect representation of how fast this man changes, he went from helpless Walter straight into Heisenberg for one last time
@@agreb25 dude. It's so lonely being a stoner who actually thinks and analyzes everything from as many layers & perspectives as possible when i partake of the devil's lettuce 😏 Everytime i share my random stoned observations with other stoners they're like, "Oooh someone's feeling philosophical today!" And I just mentally roll my eyes while thinking to myself, "Do most people actually cease thinking when they're high? Because for me, the main reason I smoke & take edibles (on 400mgs right now lol), is to SLOW my thoughts so that I can actually process the countless puzzle pieces of information floating in my head, and because its the only thing that helps my insomnia (strictly heavy edibles though). So thank you for the indirect compliment. I didn't even notice i had 14 likes on my random comment 3 months ago of a randomly discovered parallel to draw 😁👍
I'm so lucky I watched this show after all episodes were released. Waiting a week to get the continuation of this would have absolutely eaten me up inside.
When I was binging BB, just after this episode ended my wifi went down... It was not working for like an hour. I know how I spent that one hour, jumping up and down just praying the Internet to work... Can't imagine a week-long wait🤯
He may have poisoned a small child as a psychological manipulation to get a mentally abused teenager to cook meth for him, but at the very least Walt is a decent enough guy to leave a tip.
DionManiac It was stupid he got scot free. Breaking bad is basically written like this Walter white does something stupid that will kill 99% who go through similar situations. Comes out untouched. Walter white should have died in season 3 its absolute bullshit!
The symbolism in this show is just genius. I've never noticed this before, but the cash actually symbolizes that Walter paid for the drink. Bravo Vince.
I love how perfectly chilling it is when Gretchen says "He's... gone." and then Heisenberg slowly looks into the camera with a dark expression, and suddenly the tension and drums kick in in the music, and you start to realize what song is playing The gritty guitar melody starting to kick in as the police storm the bar too Amazing scene to lead in to the grand finale
He's broken. He's beaten. His son hates him. He threatened his wife over the phone so that she wouldn't get a hard time from the police. His brother in law is dead. His money, everything he worked for, is stolen or sitting uselessly in a barrel in the middle of nowhere. Everything he's worked for is for nothing. He's finally done. And then... Elliot appears on TV and publicly rubbishes his intelligence, his genius, his accomplishments. And suddenly, that pride, that ego, that ruthlessness, is back. He's Heisenberg again, one last time. Best scene in the series.
Also one more thing to add to all of that: the fact that his product is still out there. His formula was stolen and is being cooked without his permission. Hearing that his blue meth is still out there and knowing how prideful he is, that had to have gotten to him the most I'd imagine.
@@SaiRam-yn8su Ambiguous ending, but an awesome one. It would he frustrating not knowing what actually happened, but at the same time fun to imagine the possibilities
I absolutely love this scene. Using the main theme as a the background music was perfect. Gretchen is literally describing how Walt broke bad and has ceased to exist past that point. The show was literally about to end with Walt getting arrested and giving up. A rather anticlimactic ending for such a complex villain. Gretchens little speech reminded him that there is no Walter White left, only Heizenberg...and Heizenberg goes out on his own terms. It's in this moment that he comes up with the idea for the final episode. He realizes how he actually wants to end this nightmare he started.
@@zynnertime1 no its probably gonna be in a scene where gene slips back into saul, but tbh after seeing nippy i have no idea if thats whats going to happen
After watching the serie I started realizing how my teacher doesn't know anything about chemistry and how much she is bad in explaining it.. sadly, this is the truth
This show ended in 2013 but I watched it this year, I can’t believe I didn’t watch it sooner but i’m glad I did. This is the best show i’ve ever watched in my life and I’m already thinking about watching the entire show again
@@conny6176 i binge watched all of BCS last month. It takes a few rewatches to fully appreciate such spectacular episodes like Winner, Lantern and Chicanery. But holy Christ they are amazing works of art! You'll love it! I paid like 140$ to Amazon (i detest them but their media service is top tier), just so i could own every season lol. Money well spent imo.
@@ch4rlz398 MovieBoxPro literally runs less than $50 annual for everything across every streaming service as soon as it drops. Movies also drop day one.
Walt's conscience: "There's nothing left Walter. The police are on their way. You're done." (Watches Elliot & Gretchen on tv) Heisenberg: "We're done, when I say we're done."
@@theletterF I'm sorry, me and my boyfriend laughed like maniacs for like 10 minutes when we saw this ridiculous scene for the first time. It's trying so hard to be cool and epic, come on JSKSS How is this not mega-apparent.
in this scene, heisenberg returns for one last dance, the beauty of this scene is so unmatched in television. this might be the best scene of the whole series. hes down and out, he knows the cops are coming, his fakily hates him, hank is dead, jesse betrays him, his money is stolen, and elliot goes and lights the match to the gasoline that ignites the FIRE that follows.
This is my favourite scene of the entire show. The way the theme song is building up and then hearing the intro theme itself here at the end of the penultimate episode like saying "let's do this one last time"... Goosebumps every time I watch this
I'm pretty sure whoever watched this show with great passion had goosebumps over this scene... Just the main theme itself is enough to create such feelings.
Breaking bad is the rarest case of master TV. Not only is Vince Gilligan responsible for the existence of this great show, but also the people who directed, wrote, and produced the elements for each episode. The music, symbolism, storytelling, and connection with the audience are all because of everyone who contributed to this creation. Congratulations.
Cash on the bar adds so much badassery to this scene. So many episodes we saw Walter handling problems out of panic almost like a fight or flight response but in this scene, that cash shows how he became a cold-blooded criminal. This is the exact moment Walter White becomes some cash.
Part of what makes this scene great is that its the first time the main theme was used in the actual show. It just wouldn't have had quite as much impact if the theme was used before.
I didn’t even enjoy much of this show apart from watching Saul, Mike, and especially Gus (was very excited when they were so prominent in BCS), but this scene gives me chills each of the many times I come to watch it again.
Imagine being a small police officer in the middle of nowhere in New Hampshire and your boss tells you "Yo Darkel, I need you to put the cuffs on the most wanted man in America".
aashrith madagiri I don’t know how you thought people would get that reference. Uncharted 2 is my favorite game of all time. I’ve completed it a half a dozen times and it’s the only game I have a platinum trophy on. I read your comment and just thought wow, whadda dick. 😂
Things that are amazing about this scene: - Walt's reaction when he sees Gretchen and Elliot telling lies - The main theme that slowly creeps in - The fact that they sent four quite heavily armed police officers to arrest Walt - That Walt payed for the drink
Ben Chabane it was mostly Heisenberg taking over at that point the accumulation of both personalities taking effect Walt realizing he could use both of them as a stepping stone to give his children the money but to also stop the production of the Blue Meth if that bartender never turned the channel Walt would’ve been caught by the cops because he would’ve have had no inspiration to anymore to get the money to his kids
Walt was ready to turn himself in just as Saul told him so but seeing Elliot and Gretchen undermining him reminded him he's got unfinished bussiness to deal with. This scene is awesome, showcasing the theme as a "one last ride" for Heisenberg.
One of the best scenes. Walt feels defeated and is about to turn himself in but his egoistic alter ego gets hurt and Heisenberg rises for one last time for the final showdown.
@@charlesferdinand422 what's your issue with people saying they like a great show? Are people only allowed to criticize it? That's kind of hard since the show is a masterpiece.
+Johnny Collini Holy shit. ME TOO man, it was AMAZINGLY done!!! But theres a lot of scenes in Breaking Bad that were done so amazingly too, like when Walt tells those two meth making amateurs to stay out of his territory. THAT moment was awesome because it symbolized his like full transformation into Heisenberg. All in all this was the best TV show aired on television and will remain in the books for millenia.
Using the main theme for the penultimate episode instead of the finale was genius. It really does sound like it's saying "This is it, it all ends here. Get ready."
And one thing i have to say i hated this series for first 5 episodes because it was slow once that Mercury scene came from that this series is fucking good 🔥
1:45 The expression of rage and wrath from Walt, with the main theme building up, only felt frightened and excited when I first watched it. Boy I couldn't imagine what I'd expect from an angry Walter White coming after me. Brilliant end to an episode, no joke but bravo Vince
Natalia Bobeł Breaking bad is a good show no doubt, but its importance is overstated and it’s pacing and character development is just unbelievable in most cases; the ego of Walt is just fucking insane and in no way can I believe someone whose supposedly so smart can’t foresee his own downfall. This is the guy whose a genius at chemistry and can rigged together random things in order to make poison and homemade turrets, and yet is incapable of checking his own limitations? Seriously. Let’s also remember that they destroyed 3 cartels and Gus’s cartel only consisted of some random Hispanic dude, one black guy and mike and his 9 informants? The entirety of a 100,000,000 dollar meth operation. (Not including whatever other drugs they were selling.) and by simply killing Gus Walter got away with it? A lot of the story is just bullshit and makes little sense from a in world perspective. So many people want to lick the asshole of breaking bad because everyone else does it without standing to question it.
@@RedVelvetBlackleather there's no reasoning in your comment , the main reason breaking bad is considered incredible is because of its importance to details and it is incredible , this is coming from a guys who likes complex plots and no one could have overseen the downfall , the whole point of series is for downfall to happen , if not there would be no breaking bad and yes Walt got away with all that because he left no evidence , if you paid attention you'd know , no matter the scale of operation , he never left any trails so he got away
@@RedVelvetBlackleather you must not understand how it would feel to be a dying, underachieving man like walter white, his downfall is completely believable and deserved
+drpapa26Ii also agree, the music throughout the interview is beautiful, especially when the interviewer says, that the meth has reached as far as Europe. The best scene in TV history.....
The fact that they used the theme song in this moment as if it says “yes, this is what it had all been about.” His pride and his feelings of being unappreciated for his genius, it was what led him to do everything he did. He wanted to become the best at something, and he got what he wanted at a steep cost.
For some reason, Vince Gilligan massively underused music in the 'Breaking Bad' series and preferred to use colors to signal emotional states except in this specific scene. The way the main theme is used there is so good, it gives me the goose bumps even after all these years. Walter White was about to give himself in and then he saw Gretchen and Elliott on TV and then in the blink of an eye, he knew exactly what to do to achieve his objectives; get the money to his family and free Jesse Pinkman.
To this day, I'm still not sure if Walt really wanted to free Jesse or if it was only a side effect. I think he only came back after Jack's gang for vengeance and to make sure they wouldn't attack his family.
@@gonzalobellosillo1624 I think when He saw how terrible jesse look after months of being prison for Jack I like to thing he forgive him I just love they final look at each other Its like.... I cant describe that feeling They both give look of forgiveness and understanding each other And acknowledgment of their friendship PS: there is video on youtube when both actors read final screen script dor first time and its beautiful
I feel like he didn't want to kill Jesse because he saw they made him into a slave Even when he wanted him dead he said to do it quick and painless. Jesse had suffered enough so he let him have another chance in life
If they used music in every scene it would break tension just imagine the this is not meth scene but then you add back ground music doesn’t really work
@@riotrecker8978 You can't use music in every scene for any series but they could easily have used it 3 to 4 times more often in Breaking Bad and good musical choices would have considerably improved the final result. I can think of another scene where music did improve the result and that's when they used the super large magnet to destroy Gus Fring's laptop. A somber type of music could also have been used for the 'this is not meth' scene. Perhaps something like The Portal by Origami Pigeon (here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-m5xnKAk7Lc8.html) Two series where a lot of music is used and it lends very well to the experience are The Alienist and The Expanse.
When I was starting to watch Breaking Bad, I got a lot of spoilers, but not this scene. So, that scene was one of the only times I really got to enjoy the show, and I love it.
