Know this is a late reply but yeah, I remember being baked in my dorm room and flying into a berserker rage against those damn Brutes when this song kicked on. I'll cherish the moment lol.
As a fan of Breaking Benjamin, freaking awesome dude!! Sometimes I take guitar covers by ear or try to figure them out by lessons. But that was awesome how you put that out! Keep up the good work.
@@fgeo91 For guitar players, I know this song is in Drop C, but also I tend to hear an E note in the open C power chord in the chorus of this song. I think that if you put your finger on the 4th fret on the 4th string (the third on from the top) and play it with the open C, it would sound more the chord in the chorus.
Awesome cover man! your guitar tone is always tight and sounds so good, I wonder which presets do you use in general in Guitar Rig 5? :) Keep up the amazing work, well done
Thanks Ido! Been a while since I've heard from you man! :D Check out this preset pack if you use GR5: www.mediafire.com/download/135x2245bacj4b1/Internet+Presets+6-11-2012.zip For my rhythm guitar I've been using a preset called "Slipknot - Dead Memories (Rhythm)" lately (tweaked it a bit to suit my liking) and for lead guitar I usually use a preset called "Queen - Under Pressure (HW)" but I do like to mix it up sometimes and use two different presets for one guitar, depends what I'm after.
Yea I'm sorry about that :( your covers are awesome, I will stay in tune for your new uploads bro Thank you so much man, I will check it out for sure! sounds great. That's really kind of you to share it with me :) You rock!
This is the perfect cover that I've been looking forever for. Great job dude. How do you record your guitar and get that beastly tone? I've seen some other ways but what are yours?
Cheers mate! Really appreciate it. Check out my video titled "My Gear Set Up and Recording Process" which I posted a few weeks ago. I do a quick rundown of one of my old recordings and show how I make my covers :)
Aside from the tone being off a bit (the mids are really off; too high a frequency or too much presence or something) and the harmonic effect being a tad too overpowering, this is the best / most accurate cover I have seen yet! Although one thing missing that EVERYONE seems to miss, is the pinch harmonics during the chorus. There's one right when Ben sings the "will" and one in the middle of when he says "survive" (specifically, when he says "vive"). They are both difficult to hear, but the second one is so subtle that you barely can hear it even if you're really listening for it. So it is pretty understandable that people would miss it in their covers. Great job dude!
Very sharp cover! What key do you consider this song to be? Everyone says C major but wouldn't the minor 6th in the scale make this whole thing mixolydian?
I've watched this a few times over now (awesome job by the way!) and I noticed you don't seem to be playing it the same way as I see it played in most tabs I read. You mind posting your tab?
Thanks! Mainly the way you play the opening riff. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you seem to be playing bar chords? From the tabs I read online they typically reference just individual notes.
What do you mean by preverses? Im looking for that sick harmonic overdrive sound at 2:52 personally. Wish i knew what effects to plug into my pod to get this to sound legit.
@@WeCareAlot4693 if you mean I played it poorly, I'd only been playing for about 18 months back then, so I was happy with the effort. Might revisit the song and do a new cover of it.
I remember using bits and pieces from the Songsterr tab and some bits from a tab on Ultimate Guitar, depending on what I thought sounded right. I should probably write my own tab for how I played this lol.
Frans, you're like the god of post-grunge/alternative metal guitar covers on youtube! haha! If you have a minute or so free would you mind checking out my own guitar cover of this song and let me know what you think? It would be really appreciated!
