Something's coming from her. On her Instagram she just has a photo of the numbers 5-15-20. Then it says #lacey2020 #thedecree. So....album announcement?
In the literary sense, "Aurora" means "The Dawn." Cosmologically, it refers to the Northern (Aurora Borealis) and the Southern Lights (Aurora Australis). No idea if it is related, but the latin word for 'gold' is "Aurum." Personally, i think since the album is made up of re-imagined songs, the band chose an album title that inspires it's own sense of imagination. And what better "thing" to imagine that the cosmos itself?
The whole Aurora album is amazing as it brings a very unique sound to some familiar songs, and features other collaborations with some surprising duets. It's worth taking the time to hear them all. Ashes of Eden has always been a heart-stopper; especially in tandem with its video. Far Away ft Scooter Ward has become one of my favorite Aurora tracks. I love the channel Billy, keep up the awesome work. I think catching your newest videos is helping to keep me sane during these strange times with us all isolated like we are. Thank you so much for what you do.
This whole album was great, I lost my sister to a drug overdose and this album got me through some tough times. And this song especially reminds me of my sister, but i absolutely love breaking benjamin!
If you like Lacey's voice, check out the song "Broken Pieces" by Apocalyptica which features her on vocals. And "Aurora" is the name of Breaking Benjamin's new acoustic album, so it basically just means it's an acoustic version.
I agree Billy you should do a Breaking Benjamin marathon like you did with Carrie Underwood. My favorite Breaking Benjamin song would have to be Dear Agony the original version because that is the first song of theirs I felt drawn in and made an instant connection with.
React to Flyleaf pleeaasseeeee, check out All Around Me, I'm So Sick. There is a lot of their songs I'd love to see you react to. They were a Christian band btw
I was lucky enough to be able to see Breaking Benjamin and Lacey Strum in concert on two separate occasions and they are both amazing! I saw Breaking Benjamin in concert with Three days Grace and I saw Lacey Strum with another Christian Rock band called Red and both were some of my favorite concerts. Fun fact when I saw Lacey in concert and she was actually pregnant during the concert and basically just sat on stage and wowed everyone with her voice she danced a little but her voice just captivated everyone
Lacy Sturm is the former singer of flyleaf and the band Breaking Benjamin is doing more of an acoustic album they are originally hard rock/rock also I recommend Citezen soldier- devil in me, bitter, weight of the world, goodbye, and bridge to grace-city of angels, everything, left inside, vertigo, without you, weigh me down, wasting my time, misery overdose, until the world ends, won't let go. Definitely some underrated bands with awesome songs. Edit may as well lol flyleaf- i am so sick, fully alive all around me, and also Fireflight-stand up, you gave me a promise, Unbreakable, and Forever. Ps might want to write these down just in case lol love the content man keep it up 🙏
Dear Agony is the first album released when he was sober in 2009. It also marks the last album when the original band members and Ben were still together. I was lucky enough to see them in their then hometown of Wilkes-Barre, PA and it was a great show.
The song is about Ben being a former alcoholic and his struggles with it. He has admitted to trying to “drink himself to death.” He’s been sober a long time.
They released an album called “Aurora” where they did slower acoustic versions of their old songs. This is the version of “Dear Agony” that was on “aurora” :)
This is a amazing song, it's like a updated version with an more acoustical feel behind it, and this version is supposed to be me more appropriate for radio also I love you my man 😍😍😍😍
I've been listening to Breaking Benjamin since their first album (came out when I was in high school). I would love to see you react to songs off their first album. It's so underrated and will always be my favorite album of theirs.
Aurora is their album released this year featuring an acoustic cover of "old" and newer material. A large portion of the songs covered are also featuring guest vocals from other bands. Also Lacey Sturm is formerly the lead vocalist of the band Flyleaf.
I went to a concert before I was a major fan of breaking Benjamin and barely listened. Now I’m pissed at myself for that because they are my favorite band, and they are basically the sole reason I bought a guitar and started writing music.
This is a cool version of the song. My favorites are still "Dark of You" and "Red Cold River." You should react to those! "Red Cold River" has a great video.
@@yolandathecrochetaddict6954 Ahh, I see people of culture. ;) "Firefly" and "Sooner or Later" got me into Breaking Benjamin. The Phobia album cemented them in my top 5 list forever.
I used to not like Breaking Benjamin but my brother played this song(the original version) Dance with the Devil and the Angel trilogy and I fell in love with their music because their music hits a different way!
The very first time I heard this song, I couldn't stop crying; both of their voices are so beautiful and powerful. It was the first song he did when he got sober.
Great version. Always been a fan of this band since their first album, and I even got to meet and chat with Ben backstage of a festival show here in FL on Halloween. We chatted about Halo, which he was/is a huge fan of (he wrote "Blow Me Away" specifically for Halo 2 lol). I've played with him as well, he's actually not bad at Halo. Or at least he wasn't then, anyway.
I don’t know the interview, so I can’t link it right now, but just do a search on lacy and how she started in music. It is an interesting story for sure.
You should react to Blow Me Away. If you've ever played Halo that song was created for Halo 2. Their lead singer Ben loved the first game so much that the makers of Halo reached out to the band to do the theme song for the second game. PS: DO A BREAKING BENJAMIN MARATHON! The world needs it! 🥳
As people have said, Aurora is an acoustic/orchestral collab album between Breaking Benjamin and several guest singers, including Lacey Sturm, Adam Gontier, and Scooter Ward. Only one song is unique to the album (Far Away ft Scooter Ward) and the rest are reimaginings of their old classics.
Your reaction is so pure. It makes me happy to see that you like this song. This is my absolute favorite song of all time. This song hits close to home for me and to see that you like it makes me happy. I absolutely love this song.
I really have not listened to Breaking Benjamin very much, thinking this song will change my mind. I have heard Lacey before, she did a song with Apocalyptica a while back, and boy did her voice shine in that song.. "Broken Pieces" is the name of that one... you might like to take a listen to that one some time, Billy! Thank you for the introduction to this song. Stay safe & stay strong ☮
I love Breaking Benjamin because their songs are so full of emotion that hits me hard because of my hard complicated life, like this song when it comes to Suicide because I had my first attempt in 3rd grade and many more after that because I am a tortured soul and it took years for me to come to terms with myself and to this day it’s a struggle
For me it was 6th grade and again in 11th. I have been suffering for a long time. That being said I have been doing much better. Had a massive break down last year and eventually I bounced back after seeking help. There is light at the end of the tunnel. Stay strong.
Breath, Failure, Angels Fall, Psycho, Crawl, Hopeless, Far Away, Simple Design, So Cold and Polyamorous are all very good songs by Breaking Benjamin. Also their is a video trilogy of Red Cold River, Torn in Two and Tourniquet. But the song Never Again is where these characters in the trilogy come from so I would start there.
Check out his solo acoustic version of this, it's a fan recording but you can feel his raw emotion start to finish and come it's Ben, you know the vocals are 🔥
Awesome reaction. If you like 3 Days Grace, Breaking Benjamin did the Aurora version of Dance With The Devil with Adam, who was 3DG's vocalist for a while. Also Failure and Red Cold River are good songs.
It's their newest Acoustic Album, mostly covers of their biggest hits from previous albums. Definitely recommend Dance with the Devil ft. Adam from Saint Anosia (Former lead on Three Days Grace."
The aurora version was off their acoustic album. This is the acoustic version. It sounds amazing with the cello filling in the bass space and the violin filling in for the keyboard. Btw… Don’t know why you were feeling that way at 13-14? It’s called hormones dude. I think we all had those moments. Favorite breaking Benjamin Song? The Dark of You.
Damn there are so many songs to choose from breaking benjamin they're all awesome to me! Their songs helped me through my school years they helped me get by even till today. My favorites are "sooner or later" "breath" red cold river" "torniquet" "sugarcoat" "what lies beneath" "ashes of eden" "dark of you" "unknown soldier" "failure" gosh there's so many but those are my top songs from them, I love you breaking benjamin! Always in my heart !!
Billy! You should listen to Lacey's old band Flyleaf for the songs All Around Me, So Sick, Fully Alive, Again. BB is my favorite band- Ben is the lead singer.. which is why it's called Breaking Benjamin :) My favorite song from them is a hard question but probably Breath is my overall favorite. Aurora is their current acoustic album.. it's so awesome! Ben's been through a lot! He struggled with alcoholism for a long time.. then got chronically sick and broke up with his old band mates then came back in 2015 with all new band mates that are just amazing together!!! Shaun the current drummer actually WON the contest to be the drummer with his youtube video!
Aurora is the name of the acoustic album they released a few months ago. It contains new works as well as reworked songs from previous albums. Unless I'm forgetting something, they're all collaborations with other artists.
You should check out some Skillet. They have great songs too. I actually saw Skillet ft Lacey Strom, opening for breaking Benjamin. Loved all the songs I heard there.
Lead singer kind of has a Christian Bale with facial hair look. Especially in the eyes. Breaking Benjamin cover of Queen’s “Who Wants To Live Forever,” and cover of Depeche Mode’s “Enjoy The Silence.”
Amazing BB songs: evil angel, so cold, dance with the devil, diary of Jane, I will not bow, close to heaven, failure, ashes of eden, hollow, psycho, save yourself, anthem of the angels, any song off of “dear agony” and “phobia”
Love that you are exercising your 1st amendment. While I do not agree with the BLM movement I support you in showing it.jist like D-gibby shows his Trump support again thank you for showing your 1st amendment
My favorite breaking Benjamin songs are failure and home but I love all of their songs except ladybug and rain. You should watch Derek hough’s (yes that dancing with the stars guy) cover of ashes of eden. It’s amazing!
