Received my full-size last week. Setup was tuning and adjusting the truss rod with the included allen wrench. Effects can work "stand alone" no amp needed, but are enhanced with an amp. I went with carbon fiber because I live in the desert. Our average humidity is around 10%. No wood shrink or cracks. Case is good quality too. The included straps aren't the best, but I'd probably replace those anyway. I'm very happy with this guitar.

Wow, it sure has a nice depth in the sound. Very noticeable with headphones. Love the effects too! And just like the video Jessica made, it looks pretty cool close up! Great review Steve! 🎸♥

just got mine yesterday. im absolutely delighted. its very loud without my amp though its got a great electric sound with. for under a grand im over the moon and i dont have to worry about the wood warping hopefully. big yes for me ❤

Definitely more practical for people that take their show on the road. One thing I find with the more affordable guitars is, they tend to have carbon fiber tops with black molded plastic back and sides. Maybe it doesn't make much difference to the sound, but it doesn't seem legit to call something a carbon fiber guitar when it's mostly molded plastic.

Hi, Is it still good after 7 months? Did you notice that you can turn on the effects unplug as it has an actuator (like yamaha XXX-TA)

They're coming, but not until late summer. I am leaving for a tour thats gonna have me out til August. Sorry for the delay on those. Been getting the tour rig together and tons of rehearsal

I have the full size one . I' bought it new about 8 months ago . The string action was way too high . I had to adjust the truss rod , unbolt and raise the neck .shave the nut . Take a little off the saddle . Half a day later it was set up perfect . It is now a great guitar.

Interesting... i didnt think they could be adjusted since they are carbon fiber. Same brand? I'm also always down for tweaking a guitar to my necessary specs, so power to ya! Congrats on a great guitar

Thanks for the review. Did Enya send this to you gratis? Anyways, I've owned over a dozen Carbon Fiber guitars by a major brand. This includes SIX identical models. This is when I learned that CF tone varies significantly guitar to guitar too, about as much as wooden guitars of the same model can vary in tone. Just FYI. Liked.

@@SteveSterlacci Thanks Steve. DO you have a full sized X4 Pro? If so, it would be great to have a video comparing the McPherson vs the Enya. The Enya does have internal electronics that can add more 'color' to the tone.

Can't argue with the stability comments, of couse. Traditional wooden accoustic guitars are very fragile, and since I know myself, I knew not to puy a $3000 Taylor. But I think my $600 Epiphone Masterbuilt sounds better than what I heard on the video, and I would say that other $500-750 guitars I've played do as well. I will never say never (look what happened in the digital modeling space - 10-15 yesrs ago I would never have expected that I could live with modeling, and now I am all in), I don't really envision that guitar made of alternate materials will ever sound like wooden guitars. But, I guess we'll see over time.

@@SteveSterlacci - I sent a photo (this was the Amazon division of Enya support - first tried the regular one, but they said if I bought from Amazon, there was a different group) - they said the photo looked like it had been banged - which it hasn't.

@@SteveSterlacci oh Yeah. I bought in Feb, and it was fine, in fact, didn’t touch it all summer as I traveled. Stayed in the case while I was away. I was disappointed. I thought they’d want to figure out if there was a weak seam because it’s where the flat back curves around to the smaller flat edge (where the effects are). I paid for added insurance so the insurance company “Assurance” sent a UPS label to send to a place called Third Coast Guitar service in Chicago. Hope they can help make it right

When I was in High School I got invited to a party where this girl that I had a huge crush on was going to be. I sparked up a conversation with her as we drank Wine Coolers and things were going very well. Then out of nowhere this total a$$hat started playing an acoustic guitar. And she left with him. I have hated acoustic guitars ever since. If I had my way, It would be a felony to own or play an acoustic guitar. All that being said, If I were forced to own an acoustic (my soul cringes at the thought) I would own carbon fiber. Far superior to wood in EVERY way. And if you did a blind test nobody could pick which guitar was carbon fiber and which was wood. Which whould be a great idea for a video. I guess we will have to wait for you to go blind to do the test but "never say never!" By the way, have you returned Jess' Helix buttons to her?

@@SteveSterlacci About Jess' helix. Until we see pictures we can't trust you. And the guy and girl wound up getting married and cranked out 3 kids pretty quick. Then they both sold and got addicted to meth which is further proof that Acoustic guitars are terrible. I would love to see you do the blind test. Acoustic guitar players LOSE THEIR MINDS when it comes to tonewoods and vintage guitars. There is nothing more annoying than being in a guitar store and listen to acoustic players rattle on and on about "tonewood" Golly I hate acoustic guitars.
