POTENTIAL MAJOR SPOILERS: In one later version of the script, Nova sends Deadpool and Wolverine into the final battle from ENDGAME where a Deadpool variant (volunteered by the main Wade even though he was instructed to do it,) takes the gauntlet from Tony, uses it, sacrificing themself and preventing Tony from dying. One version of the script has Tony using his nanotech to make the Gauntlet form back on his hand and dying just the same. A Deadpool then cracks a joke about him “really want[ing] to die.” I’m not sure how much of this is in the final film. I know there were talks of having the Deadpool variant succeed instead. I’m also unclear what Cassandra Nova’s intent was with this part of the plan (I only get excerpts from a version of the script) unless it’s to create an incursion to prevent the 616 universe (and Deadpool) from interfering with her main multiversal plan. I’m waiting for clarification on that. I do know the ENDGAME battle will be in the final film in some form and that, should they not be able to get RDJ to return, they’d use archival footage, stand-ins, clever editing and CGI to bring him to life for the sequence. Think the post-credits scene from DEADPOOL 2 where Wade kills his variant from ORIGINS and interacts with Wolverine… just on a much bigger scale. They do this throughout the film for several iconic MCU and Fox X-Men moments.

@@Yamas258I think they mean the 616 MCU main universe. I’m not sure I agree… there’s a lot of awesome films and character portrayals that a multiversal reset would undo. I’m not sure how I feel about that. It makes sense to cohesively work in the F4 and X-Men so that they’ve been around all along, although I think there are other ways you can bring them in without rebooting the whole MCU. We know the F4 are - SPOILER - coming over from another universe and that could work well as part of their origin in the MCU. That does not work for the X-Men. What would work is having mutants been in hiding for, like, the previous twenty years because of the violent prejudice they’ve experienced prior to the events of IRON MAN. Maybe some horrific event happened (like the Mutant Massacre) that caused any and all known mutants to either go into hiding or be imprisoned like, perhaps, Magneto. I don’t like the idea of the X-Men coming from another universe; mutants should’ve been there all along even if we hadn’t seen them. A multiversal reset could work, though, where a new, prime universe is created which contains all of Marvel’s catalogue of characters now that Disney/Marvel have re-acquired pretty much all of the rights to all of their characters… mostly (I’m looking at you, Sony!) I just don’t like how it makes the MCU up until now moot. A few years of mediocre products doesn’t really warrant a complete reboot. Now if they’re doing it for the sake of the story, that’s fine. But they better make it poignant and a big-ass deal and have the new universe feel like these new additions have been there all along.

@@BrettDMaynard i like the idea of a soft reboot because of the fact that the MCU now has complete access to a majority of marvel properties(besides spiderman and hulk characters due to sony and universal), but can still use them in projects. The reboot wouldn't undo everything. It would be an altered version of our main MCU timeline due to the repercussions of Secret Wars.

@@BrettDMaynard I feel like the soft reboot will solve the Kang situation they're in as well as make it possible for a well cast Doom &/or Magneto to be the next Loki while they work towards 'THE BIG A' or 'THE BIG G' as the next Thanos level threat, perhaps allowing Cyclops &/or Reed to be the lead that Stark & Rogers were before!

I like the idea of them bringing back the older versions of the characters like RDJ for Ironman but I think they need to space out the next iteration of those characters. It would be really hard for any other actor to come in even two years out and be accepted without some major comparisons to the original actors.
