I’ve always been a 1911 guy, then switched to Beretta and never liked Glock. Shot my friends 43x and 19 gen 5. I went today and bought both. I’ve been converted!
I like that you talk fast with no "uum"s and "aah"s. I usually watch gear videos at 1.75 and I'd have to switch back to normal during the demonstrations, which is a pain, but I can keep my speed on normal the whole time with your videos. Good stuff.
@@tacticalcowboy01 Your like a woman that can't make up her mind! First its no comp and now its comp. You go from standard height mount on an AR 15 to a high height mount and then back to a standard height mount. I think your confusing the LARPER's that watch your short bus content!
I am an old retired Army CID Agent. I am pretty sure that I have been shooting longer than you have, but not [more] than you have. I didn’t get into recreational shooting until I was in my 60s. There is no way on this planet that I could hit a target a target 100 yds away with a pistol. At 7 yds I can put 17 rounds in a single hole that I can cover with a challenge coin, but a 100 yds?? I don’t think so. That is phenomenal shooting in my opinion. As for your gun, you do you. Great video.
You might want to give it a try, I never thought I could do it either, but its not as hard as you would believe. You wont be shooting groups, but if you are capable of shooting good tight groups, I imagine you can ring some steel at 100! Try it!
@@bbrakes5814 Thank you. I first have to find a range that either has steel or will allow steel. I think I have found one, but it I have to go check it out. Again, thank you.
This is a great video, as a fellow Glock 17 fan, I very much appreciate it. After the slide was milled for the optic, was it refinished with nitride or cerakote?
Always like seeing someone run a stock Glock trigger. The two 19's I had, I never swapped out the trigger. Took some getting used to but they shot great.
Nice rig bro , I gotta Glock 45 all natural 🤙🤙🤙!!!! Except for the kkm barrel and comp and the stippling and. The SLR mag well and the Kagwerks slide release , but that’s it😁🤙🤙🤙!!!!!!
Only thing I am hesitant on is running comps on carry guns. All the barrel-mounted comps I've tried seem to require some inherent modification of the host (recoil spring) or ammo specificity to be mostly reliable. For most EDC, when ammo is plentiful, not a concern, but if for some reason the specific ammo required by your setup isn't readily available, you could be left with reliability issues. Comped slides seem to be more reliable and less ammo-specific in my experience.
Very nice! I'm looking at some Gen 3 17's right now..... they've been calling my name. I run a 19 gen 3 as my edc work horse. Stock internals and controls, TLR7 Flex, undercuts and filed off the grooves then wrapped with goon tape, reptilia magwell, and Wager Works RMR slide cut and burnt bronze cerakote (highly recommend Wager Machine Works for slide mods). Finally at the 4k round mark for 2024 burnt bronze slide looks good with some wear marks.
Man i bought a gen 5 g17 2 days ago, sent it out for 509t milling yetserday. Cant wait to get it back and trick it out more. Needs a glock performance trigger and i might be adding a kagworks release
If you want your comp to run with more ammo, change out the recoil spring. I love sprinco springs. Had to mess with mine. Now it runs 115-147gr with no issues.
I got a PSA dagger with a forward facing rear sight. I think that's what it's called. Regardless...it puts the rear sight in front of the optic. I haven't shot it with an optic but a few rounds with the irons, no adjustments, and they were good. Put the optic on and the dot was surprisingly close to the irons out of the box.
So you mentioned the preference of the TLR over the Surefire based on the switch, have you run a Surefire with a devgru switch? Personally I think that's the cats meow. Firing functionality, one handed. I think that mandatory. But I also like your activation technique.
I rock a 19, just for mag compatibility in a SHTF scenario, but I would like to upgrade to a 17 length slide soon. Great guns, triggers arent amazing but once you get used to it its a non issue.
I run almost the EXACT same setup but I am running Trijicon suppressor height sights and have extended controls as well as a tungsten guide rod internally but everything else we have the same. A++ build
NOOOO but how else can I flex thousands of dollars of add-ons on my IPSC/IDPA matches to the point where the actual firearm is now a POS due to the heavily unnecessary modifications!
"Now I know what you're thinking... you're thinkin 'I've never seen a Glock with veneers before' everyone else uses rear leaf sights, but I use teeth. Learned it in ranger school."
My only comment is to your mention of your "backup" iron sights that are too low to be used looking through your optic...So, in the event of a catastrophic optic failure, like a piece of shrapnel hitting it from an explosion or hand grenade in the middle of an intense firefight, do you carry the tools to remove the optic so those backup iron sights can get into play? 🤔🤔🤔😂😂😂 Just picking at you. Great video and great setup!
@@tacticalcowboy01 I have one on a Glock 45 and it’s almost like cheating. It’s also much more aesthetically pleasing, and always making sure you look good is half the battle
EPIC FAIL but with good intent. For some questions: Does the 17 with the PMM dual port fit a 34 holster? Especially hard use kit with retention like the Safariland? Especially since you are playing off the Ranger TAB. Is engaging targets at 100 yards with a pistol truly relevant? Porting and comps have minimal affect on close accuracy but create a velocity loss. Thinking a Bill Drill that was timed @ 10 and then @ 25. Obviously showing the target live to validate on camera to promote a comp on a kit video. Details matter to combat arms soldiers. Not knowing the model of your RMR to share 🔴 size was weak.
@@tacticalcowboy01 - Maybe relevant to you - But only for marksmanship and possibly for fun. You are correct on being doable. Again - A score of 10 rounds for 90 or better on a B8 at 25 from the draw in less than 10 seconds is relevant. No reply on holster fit and your choice. How many pipe hitters in Tier 1 or 2 would use that wonky exposed rig you have now? The Radian Comp is better for the 17 with this in mind. The PMM is solid for the 19 or 45. Were you issued a secondary weapon in the Army?
@@tacticalcowboy01 if you pull the firing pin out, you’ll see two black halves which should be a full circle. The maritime spring cups allow water to drain from the channel, letting you shoot if your Glock is submerged.
@@tacticalcowboy01 yeah no difference in firing I’ve felt but they’re pretty good especially since I live near lakes and rivers and go outdoors a lot. They come standard on the 19x
It’s always funny when trainers/Influencer guys are like “I think this is a…. (Product X)” Like bruh you spent hour(s) researching and hundred(s) of dollars on that item and you don’t remember or know what it’s called? lol?
6.5 is pretty big. I usually rock optics with a 2 moa dot on my pistols but I like to stretch the limits of yardage just for fun. Up close and personal 3.25 is probably a great size
@Dillydilly956 I don't wanna be a hater, and I don't doubt he has things he could teach others. I just don't think shooting is one of them, and I know the Rangers don't teach high levels of pistol marksmanship.
@ViktoriousDead I'm not saying they don't shoot pistols well, I'm talking about high levels of marksmanship, Master/Grandmaster level skill. I know you were it Batt. I have a couple of buddies who are currently in. They can shoot pistols better than almost all mil guys, and definitely better than most cops. In my personal opinion, seeing "Army Ranger" sparks a difference interest in me. Such as some of the things your channel covers. Not necessarily "I wanna learn to shoot a pistol from this guy".
