Her healing list is unremarkable. A bunch of ostensibly physical units have access to physic. The rest might be solid on a mage but with 20% mag growth you'd probably have to feed her quite a few stat boosters to keep her relevant in the late game.
I found your channel a few days ago, love these personal analysis and the IronMan playthrough. Subscribing for sure, would love to get some takes on things from other FE games aswell, whether it be lists or more of these unit analysis videos.
First off, I find myself extremely excited every time one of these is posted since I love the ensuing discussions and comments. My take on Shamir is that her bases and instant sniper access are her unique niche. I tend to build her as an biphasic sweeper thanks to her personal providing 2 points less than deathblow on the ensuing enemy phase. The lack of a crest is also amazing here for similar reasons to Petra. It allows her an easy way to whittle herself down without needing to take hits, meaning you can assign your guard adjutants elsewhere. My mixed phase build is: Bow prowess CC/hit20/bow crit/personal preference Wrath Vantage Deathblow (replaced with bowfaire later) Battalion: liecester mercs for CF and goneril Valkyrie for other routes. The 20 hit and 15 crit is bananas and fits the build perfectly. I find that with indech swordies applying retribution, the accuracy decrement on enemy phase for fighting ranged opponents is eliminated since you are firing with retribution, and as you mentioned, her Dex and luck are good enough to be reliable without needing hit20 if it doesn't fit your exact build (unless it's against assassin/swordmasters in forests/thickets like petra's paralogue). Similarly cc is also a flex or preference skill since indech swordies make it redundant. With fetters of dromi(later, Rafail gem if not CF), my playstyle is to use HV on player phase to secure kills and activate her personal, once she is in wrath range from recoil or sponging a minor hit then switch to an accuracy ring for the rest. Keep a forged mini bow just in case you run out of retri since it also gives crit. On not needing to backtrack for hit20 and deathblow I kinda agree. though I like spending some time as brigand anyway to make hitting B+ axes a bit easier for the warrior exam. Also luck stat slightly helps with exams too so there's that haha. Sorry my responses tend to be long, curious to know your thoughts.
No problem with the long responses, happy for the discussion! Enemy phasing with her in the late game is certainly possible, but It's not something I am especially sold on. This is mainly due to her being 5 move without flight, which greatly limits where you can EP From, and other units are usually better suited. The strength boost from her personal is nice in theory, but when you are bagging crits every attack, it's rarely necessary in practice. Personally I prefer to let other units do a lot of the EP work and just keep Shamir as a player phase killer, However if you did want do this, I would probably try going for a Wrathless build. I don't think Wrath is especially necessary - thanks to her Dex + Luck growths, Shamir can easily reach very high hit numbers with reduced support, especially since she is grounded in Sniper so can take advantage of something like the Fraldarius soldiers without much competition since she doesn't need a flying battalion, plus she has access to BowCrit+10 so much earlier and easier. Killer Bow + (35), Stats (~30+ with Personal, from lv 25 - around when Wrath would be unlocked), Fraldarius Soldiers (20), BowCrit (10) is already taking her up to 95 crit, a crit ring can be used to push this over 100, and as the game progresses this will only increase as her stats grow. This is all not counting things like statboosters or cooking, too. This obviously lets her pump less in to axes and more in to more generally useful areas, such as Authority and Bows, or use this time on other units all together.

I'm glad to see someone else giving EP snipers some love. Personally I think they're the most reliable wrath vantage users, if not the most mobile. Bows make great EP weapons because they work equally in everything. No enemies have bow breaker to try and harm your accuracy, and with a mix of close counter and bow range +1 you cover basically every range besides siege magic and bow knights which are pretty rare. Enemy snipers are basically everywhere so although I have not tried a flying EP unit (I definitely should try it though), I'd think they'd struggle with the massive amount archers and snipers in the game. If you're not using a killer bow, that number of enemies you struggle with just continues to climb as mages can outrange the melee killer weapons.
I’m late to the party but. I plan to use Mage Shamir when I get the chance. Crit spells on a person with naturally high crit sounds like a spicy time, even with her low mag and mag cap
You have an idea when you’ll post about Ingred? Whenever I use her, I find it hard to level her up or leave her alone since she can’t kill. I’d love to see a breakdown of her.
Ingrid is a unit with hybrid growths in her offenses. So no matter what class you put her in you should probably give her something that can damage things with her other offense. For example a dark knight Ingrid still wants a good lance for taking out units with high res and a Pegasus Ingrid wants a levin sword and frozen lance. Also she wants a gambit with hybrid offensive boons but this is unfortunate because if you wanna make her a flier there are none. So tbh I find her best in dark knight at least for the non dlc classes. Imo she’s honestly a better main magic damage dealer then Annette for blue lions. Doubling with her heavier spells can be nasty and you don’t have to certify her in a physical class to negate weight issues and be able to unlike most mages. Frozen lance horse slayer is gonna ohko pretty much every cav as a dark knight she can use her passable strength to break through mages frail on the physical end and most enemies have lower res and she has a pretty decent spell list. Only thing she has trouble breaking through as a dark knight is mortal savants as they have decent bulk both physically and magically and aren’t weak to frozen lance horse slayer like dark and holy knights are
I've only really ever played The difficulties below maddening with classic and one thing I have definitely felt the bit I've used her is that she is very good. Very simple to use. But my thing is I just never really found a place to use her. Admittedly by chapter 6 I already have my main damage dealers for most of the run and I'm already starting to focus on what path they're doing and all that so I never really use so I end up accidentally picking her up by Time that my main damage dealers are already 20 or just about to be if I do a battle for one of my days. So I've never really found the biggest use in her. But if I am tryharding on maddening I can definitely see why she is so good
I'm being honest. I've never found a reason to not use close counter on a bow unit just in case. Like let's say I use a bow unit somewhat early on in the turn count. No one's attacking them. They're fine. I move a different unit to attack something else and then my bow unit gets attacked. It's nice to have close counter as an okay. They're going to hit me for a good chunk of damage, but I'm also going to hit them for a good chunk of damage
I would definitely be interested in branching out later down the line - FE 7, 8 and 9 are the only other games I would really feel comfortable covering at this point but I am hoping that changes in the near future.
Hi. I've noticed that you've mentioned several times on your breaking down videos that there are certain characters that has a might bonus if they are an adjutant of a certain character. Is there any chance that you have a list of all the characters and their respective partners that has this bonus?

I use the below from Serene's forest. serenesforest.net/three-houses/miscellaneous/linked-attacks-gambit-boost/ I'm not completely sure on some of them - for example, it list's Marianne and Bernadetta, but they don't have a support, so I'm not sure if that one still works after the 1.2 patch, but it is mostly accurate.
Shamir is my favorite unit, I love how she has the best crit in the game (mostly; war master Cyril, ignatz and Claude etc. can surpass her). I love killing one enemy for her personal, dancing for her and then setting her up in front of 20 other enemies and watch her kill 2 before dying. Probably not the best strategy on classic mode, unless you give her vantage, wrath/defiant crit etc.
