Very nice breakdown and it's interesting to consider how Stray Kids took parts from the original story and maybe a bit from the Disney version to make their own. This might be really simplified but my take is the sacrifice relates to everything they give up as an idol and while they seemingly live normal lives they're also quite isolated (fish out of water). The love (fireworks) they seek and are drawn to is Stay. They will seek out that love even if it means living with no water and feeling the pain (thirst) and give it all up (surrounded by desert) as their commitment to Stay.

I AGREE the concept of equivalent exchange🧨THE SACRIFICE OF HUMANITY IN THE IDOLSHIP INDUSTRY IS A REAL THING. So indirectly it means to say that skz has chosen their own choice to be in land ( irl their idol path ) they know they can't go back so only they can do is to grow more stronger, they have to move out from their comfort zone

The imagery is more of them losing their breath while singing. It sounds like short breaths and breathy singing. Some of the words are soft and harsh in some areas. Without water they can't breathe well. Seems like they are always out of breath.
HOW CAN U SO SMART. I've been thingking so hard why they ran towards the fireworks 😭 I actually think ur right for the meaning of the song. About how far you want to go to pursue your dreams. But I don't know if they really sacrificed... to stay on land? Or is it just a parable? I didnt think the "new life " Is from sea to land...I mean why did they suddenly become mermaids and live in the sea? Okay... But why i think this mv is related to skzflix? Cz felix said " When the memory softy ripple, a festival of lights dances upon the waves, the moments i give away my breath.. Just to gain a new life. " Cz felix is the one who said, i think his memory that disappeared after meeting minho in skzflix could be back. And when the fireworks go off ( the festival of lights), he got a new life. At first i thought Felix wants to do time travel to another world, ( maybe he wants to meet minho again? Or go to a completely new place) but this time travel could be so risky and dangerous. That's why he said there maybe no going back. And he should sacrifice something to do that. No matter what place he's going to Well..idk i could be wrong :')
Thank you for sharing your analysis. I knew it was about the mermaids the moment I saw the title of the song before they even spoke about it. I saw the video of them talking about the song and then watched the music video right after. I saw a lot of the similarities between "The Little Mermaid" and the song. Have SKZ ever talked about the desert and oasis imagery in their music?

I'm not an expert. But maybe I can answer it because I think this mv is also related to skzflix. In the teaser, felix said " When the memory softy ripple, a festival of light dances upon the water the moment i give away my breath 'just to gain a new life '". In skzflix, after realizing that Minho was happy, Felux back to his real world. And maybe his memory was erased. Now, maybe his lost memories is back. And Felix wants to time travel again (I think he wants to meet Minho once again cz minho is seen alone at the end of the mv or go to a completely new place to 'gain a new life') but this time the journey he will take will be dangerous. He has to sacrifice something to do that. And maye he can't go back to his real world.
