8:52 "The beat comes in and it's just completely controlled and it subverts my expectations" That's the genius of Lee Know's choreography. He arranged it so well
@@ArletSolangerCalixtoJuro He didn't create their choreography- most of the time it's someone else. But JYPE receives a lot of different submissions of lots of different ideas for the dance and Lee Know picks which parts he likes and mashes them together
now I know why the sea is gone. this is a water theme. so much water, but at the same time no water at all. they're drowning but at the same time, they are thirsty. some phenomenon when you fall in love. everything feels messed up.
The composing, arranging, and lyrics are credited to Charlie Puth and 3racha! Also, Lee know (and others) helped make the dance and choose the best movements!
The MV is based on the The Little Mermaid by Hans Christian Andersen. In the original story mermaids live for 300 years and eventually transform into sea foam. In contrast, humans don’t live that long but they have a soul , the song goes so perfectly with the MV and this is a new side of Stray Kids that is really pleasant to see and you're right about the fireworks the song is about the unknown feelings of getting to know someone knew yeah the fireworks might represent the sparks into a new relationship
It seems to me the idea of MV is to show that for the sake of love, a choice is made between a familiar and long life without a soul and a new world with a short and difficult life full of love. This is an analogy with the Little Mermaid on the contrary, so there is a lot of water, symbolising the connection with another world, the world of water with a long life without love, which the guys are ready to leave. The last frame is very symbolic.
The reason why the choreo is more calm than how Stray Kids usually does it is because they're aiming for a more calm, vibey setting here to match the music. They talked about this a lot in the Lose My Breath Intro video! It was hard for them to get used to this concept including recording it because it's so different from what they're used to. They're also expected to release a new album on July 19th, and they hinted in the Lose My Breath Intro video that their next concept is also gonna be a bit different from their usual! Edit: The concept of this song entirely is a rendition of The Little Mermaid. Which explains them being parched because rather than them losing their breath on the surface, it's being on the surface that's causing it because they're theorized to be mermaids, and the scenes with the sea and all the pearls (that wasn't a marble in the cup in the last shot, but a pearl!).
It sounds very beautiful, gentle, sensual, and also unexpected and unusual for Stray Kids (even rappers sing in this song and very beautifully by the way). Great collaboration! 🔥🔥🔥
the mv is so beautiful to watch, to feel, to understand. it matches the idea and meaning of song so well. not to mention marvellous editing. i lost my breath watching this. and the choreography matches the beats and feeling of song remarkably (lee know's literally the dance god). the story of loving someone so much you lose your breath but you still chase after that love and you still wanting to love them is done faultlessly, from constant appearance of fireworks that representing sparkles in relationship and them running after it, to constant relation to water that represents suffocating by love. i am beyond words- i expected supreme but skz managed to go even higher, as always. with every new song i really think it's not humanly possible to hit higher and they do it every.single.time. applause and hat off all the way down to my grave. speechless, wordless- ethereal.
so in the 1st teaser it was Felix quoting the og little mermaid story and this was confirmed in the intro video that was released a few days ago. really enjoyed your technical view and breakdown of the MV
I watched the MV first thing in the morning and my first thought when it ended was "I can't wait for Jordan to react to this" . Turns out I didn't have to wait at all haha. It's always so fun and refreshing watching you talk about MVs:)
Jordan is a real Stay!! Always looking forward to watch Stray Kids' music videos, just like me🥰🥰🥰 Jordan is my favorite Stay!!!!♥♥♥ Stray kids are going to a have a mega comeback in July, so get ready Jordan!!!!
Thank you for releasing the analysis of Stray Kids’ Lose My Breath right away! You always make me notice new things, no matter how many times I’ve already watched an M/V.
I have always enjoyed watching your reactions, the theories you create from the MVs and all the explanations of the technical aspects regarding editing and sound. Keep it coming Jordan!! Thank you!!
Jordan, you are the reaction that I wait for in every single SKZ MV. I love how funny, interesting, engaging and technical you are! It's great to see professionals breaking down their videos, because there is so much work they do that we wouldn't notice if people like you didn't react to them. Gives us a whole new appreciation for Stray Kids!
I love Felix's voice, he is very successful in everything! He is a talented idol, a good-hearted philanthropist, and he debuted as a model for Louis Vuitton and ate the catwalk!!! HE SHOULD BE AN ACTOR
I know Felix said there is a “Little Mermaid” theme to the music video - I think the water and air are reversed for them - they need water more than air, but they give it up to be closer to their crush. ???
I really love your reactions! Even after watching the clip several times on my own, I don't notice so many details. I really like how you talk in detail excitedly about every little thing that only a professional like you can notice!
I always love your videos to get more understanding and appreciation of the editing. Thank you! Also, the concept included the Little Mermaid, so themes of losing/needing water, them coming back to it with rain/puddles. Pearl not marble etc. I also am not sure about the fireworks.
okay but from those last few seconds in the video, you sure know how to dance! lmaoo that aside, your reaction was so fulfilling omg, I had so much fun
when it comes to reaction channels, i feel like you're the best out there. there's so much info, like?? in all honesty, i had never taken any interest in video editing before, but you taught me how to see so many things that i just couldn't notice before. you're awesome. came for stray kids content some time ago and stayed for the extremely entertaining videos 10/10
Really WONDERFUL reaction!! So many things get to have new sights all thanks to your great interpretation and insights 💖 I already love this song and MV but due to you I could love these even more 😍 You are the Best! Have a Great, Great Day ☘️
Its my first time watching your videos and im OBSESSED the way you described everything was just satisfying to watch thank you for this beautiful reaction ❤❤
The dance moves you said that so controlled and subverts your expectations it's because they included sign language in that part of the coreography, the first is about lose the breath and the second one said something with "look"
Absolutely love your videos, I don't do any kind of video editing but I love the way you break down the videos, it helps me notice things I might have missed!
I love how excited you got about this video bc I felt the same way, I knew there was something very different and intriguing about this music video but I couldn’t really identify what it was as I don’t really have the expertise😅 no I know. It’s just so visually stunning
btw from an interview given the members did say this was "little mermaid" themed, so it explains the water motif throughout a song about air or lack thereof.
I love love love how you go back and forth in the video and watch parts multiple times to get everything and explain the editing/camera/effects/meaning to us. Huge respect for that 😊💕
I love how the description coming from a professional editor for this production is so passive aggressive. This is when you know stray kids and all the people working around them use a lot of their effort to serve us.
Thank you for this video! I had no idea there’re so many details, I just was amazed by the visuals and couldn’t even breath (hahaha) while watching and re-watching the mv😍 thank you so much again!
in their intro video they said the video was inspired by "the little mermaid" who gave up her voice and her life in the water for love, hence the "lose my breath" and water theme
