Not taking sides here, but I have to ask, are you saying no more "one move" defensive moves then? I've always been taught left front to right rear is not position, and you're allowed one defensive move..? There is a lot of history with these two and on this occasion, it appears neither was going to give.

Could you play the whole video without pausing every other frame? Hard to tell the whole sequence of events when the video restarts and pauses every other frame.

Don't see a brake check off the corner, looks like he just came off poor due to defending on the way in. The move going to T1 was in reaction to the other driver. Should be a blocking penalty plain and simple. Defending is preemptive, blocking is reactive.

De tullio did a very common defensive move to compromise Ryan’s line. Ryan had much room on the inside but u can see him move to the left a little which caused the accident. If anybody is wrong here then its Ryan.

I agree. If you look at de tullio relative to the tramlines, he is going completely straight before Norberg had a bit of a wiggle. Close racing, but definitely on Norberg for me.

Listen kids, Ryan should have lifted. Yes, the other guy was driving a bit dirty, that's not "because he's about to lose" but because it's a race. I assume Ryan has never raced cars? You refuse to back out of the outside when you clearly have no chance of overtaking (the other kart made that pretty clear it wasn't happening at that part of the track) and you drive into the scene of the accident. If it was cars, that's a huge damage bill. With a bit more experience and maturity, he might have backed off and positioned himself to make a more assertive move... but what do I know? I've only been a motorsport coach and engineer for 30 years so feel free to disagree.

but ryan had the next cornor on the inside after the kink what do expect him to do lose a what should be a very easy position and idk why cars would have anything to do with this the whole point of karting is to fun fast and afforable

Lift and then lose a place and possibly two just to get behind the guy and be stuck for many corners to come. The guy in front of him was covering the middle of the track to try and prevent him from going up the inside, he still gets a run about half a kart length even before the braking zone... clear contention for a pass he might have been expecting him to go swing more outside because its a double apex on the right coming up... or he just made a mistake and hit him. This is a not a track day or a practice session unless its a dive bomb or a stupid risky pass you're not backing out or else the train behind you passes you. If this were a car that's not open wheel this would just be minor cosmetic damage the wheels wouldn't touch... and the team would gladly fit the bill if it means gaining positions or a win. Especially at Ryan's level.
