Wasn’t shown in the video but the email the dev got for it showed dsp being based in Renton AK (Arkansas). So my bet is its a a certain hound/fan doing false strikes
He has zero grounds to pull it. Its parody and he is a public figure. So I would fight it. It wouldn't take much and Phil doesn't have the money to defend himself.

Imagine a scenario where Devolver Digital buys it and publishes it as is (they are a kind of indie publisher who brought us Hotline Miami, Ape Out, Katana Zero, The Talos Principle, Cult of the Lamb, My Friend Pedro and most recently Children of the Sun and Anger Foot). Shit, The Detractor could be on store shelves sooner than that Joon Doc. We can dream. One thing is for sure: Pulling a game from a store ALWAYS puts more eyes on it. This game might have sold a couple hundred before it was pulled. If it ever comes back to the store it will sell thousands at least guaranteed and its all because Phil's fragile ego bothered to pull it in the first place.

Thats such sweet justice if it takes off like that... and an analog for Phil's entire life. Being a pompous, arrogant prick always bites him in the ass. All you had to do was nothing, Phil. But he would acknowledge it, surely. Then go on about the poor quality and mechanics and rip it apart... like thats the point of the game anyways. Now that there’s been a DMCA takedown, the game can only be distributed in a manner that won’t monetize the creator (unless the game was free on release). There’s even a good chance it could be distributed for free (if it wasn’t already). In other words, if the game spreads *after* this takedown, Phil’s argument that the detractors milk others, for stuff based on his content, will be 100% invalid.
Man it must be cool to have a game developed about you! This one looks pretty fun! Imagine if Phil could laugh at himself and play this on stream. God forbid! Im buying this the second it's back up!
Maybe I’m just remembering wrong but didn’t Phil give his permission for the game? I swear that I remember someone in his chat asking if it okay too make a game around him and Phil said something like "go ahead, I don’t have a problem”
*I'm calling it:* he'll lose the DMCA claim, then after some time he'll try to spin it as if he didn't even mind it at all and try to milk the game pretending he's being a good sport about it, only to not just fail miserably to entertain because he's boring as hell, but also not fooling anyone with his fake high-pitched forced seal laugh. Then in the following years he'll go back and forth between it being the worst thing ever to put him and his family in grave danger and it being some secret project he himself actually commissioned to make fun of detractors. I know, it's too predictable.
It’s amazing how someone can put good work and time into something that is both marketable and a pahsitive impact for an online community, only to have it illegally taken down by one of the laziest, unintelligent, selfish pigs. It’s amazing how the irony just goes over his head. I hope the Streisand effect makes swift work when the game’s store page makes a return. The developers deserve to be able to profit from their project.
The Hound has a youtube channel that he was posting on during the false copyright saga saying that the people he was striking were violating the detractor constitution. Really regarded stuff - some of the most highly regarded stuff I've seen related to Phil in fact. I checked out his channel today and he hasn't posted - at least not yet.

LMAO his evidence for content being stolen was just posting his entire youtube channel and he still got it taken down. with gmod and other steam games valve needs to be better with this
he doesn't realize that by doing this he's bringing way more attention to this game than if he had just ignored it, this could very well even serve as material for some mainstream youtube video about DMCA abuse, just classic Phil and his ingenious intellect at work again
I heard about this game right before leaving for work yesterday. By the time I got home, I was already seeing videos about the game being taken down. I hope this gets cleared up soon. It looks fun.
DSP should be taking notes from Rich , going after your detractors is a very bad idea and actually was looked at in a positive light ( DSP ) of recent for not having a history of doing that . Smh here we go
I'm not super familiar with the law...but I'm pretty sure if someone that isn't contracted or paid by Phil wants to sue on behalf of DSP, thayd have to be legally associated. Otherwise, I could picture a couple of crazy twitter people 3rd-party-suing Disney and Nintendo every single time they do something anticonsumer on a case by case basis
