Maybe an idea for a futur video but how about "drilling gain modifier" We can start as Provence to get +25% permanently and then form Holland or Prussia to get +25% (from Prussia permanently ) (+30 from Holland for 25years) (think forming Holland first will be easier since it's closer but since Holland is only temporary, we can form it after forming Prussia) Then form France to get +50% from ideas and change your religion for Sikh to get +50% more. We can also form Rum for janissary unit since they have +50% Add that the +40% from decision (the one that increase your maintenance), +100% from 100 professionalism, +50% for holding Ambras Castle at tier 3)

@Xazamas

Very similar concept was used by Alastair Reynolds in his 'Revelation Space' -series. Major human faction, "Demarchists" (Democratic Anarchists), are able to run a functional society because they're all connected by neural implants that allow them to seamlessly vote on referenda. Exact description differs between short story 'Spy in Europa' and novel "Prefect" (this could be explained that former is from POV of hostile outsider, and latter is all Demarchists.) -'Spy in Europa' describes that eventually the Demarchists start voting subconsciously or subliminally. The titular spy considers this disgusting, but he may have been indoctrinated by a totalitarian regime from what I remember (also the entire story is kind of a homage to the Cold War espionage thrillers.) -'Prefect' features one of the many habitats in Glitter Band (orbiting exoplanet Yellowstone) that more or less explicitly sells some of their voting power - the system analyses people's votes based on hindsight, and gives more voting weight to those who voted "correctly." People living in the said habitat actively participate in all the optional referendum, always making sure to vote on what is most likely going to be the best options in terms of long-term society-wide benefit. Thus, their votes are weighed much more heavily than votes from average citizens. Compensate them for the potential hit on their "social credit score" and they'll vote like you want to. The titular Prefects, who are the police/peacekeeping force, don't seem to be above this or even consider it a bad thing - they lament that the habitat is unable to vote in favour of declaring a state of emergency. (Without going too much into spoiler territory, they could've just assumed the Habitat would vote "yes" if their communications weren't down.)

Some notes: 1) irl Roman republic had elections every year 2) 3:25 not all republics are democracies, there is no guarantee that everyone could vote. 3) 4:11 it's not. Republican tradition penalty is proportional to the term length. So it's multiplication, not division. I can't remember how exactly it's stored in memory and how rounding works but it would cost you either 0 or the minimal unit to re-elect.
@LemonCake101
@LemonCake101 3 месяца назад
1) I know! 2) Yeah fair 3) Oh good point. Eu4 still treats division by 0 to equal 0, I just guess this was an example off.

80% should be doable. Just play as a Mesoamerican or Incan native with Divine Ideas and get "The Dying of the Light" event (-5%) as well as "A Generation of Cowards" event (-5%) while going through the "Rapid Collapse of Society" triggered modifier (-10%). Watch and be amazed as your already backwards 24 stack gets wiped by Norway's 2 stack sneezing in their direction. Also, that first event is what makes Divine a really bad idea group unless you can stack it. No, the 5% free discipline event doesn't make up for it.

I kinda like Paradox not capping modifiers. If modders want to make the game explode that's on them. Leaving modifiers uncapped forces Paradox to think more carefully about modifiers added - you need to be deliberate with adding re-lection time because if you aren't then you wind up with this.

The Roman Republic should have a term duration of 1, and you should not be able to re-elect. That’s how the real Republic worked. (Technically consuls could be re-elected but you had to wait ten years between terms, but implementing that would probably be annoying.)
