It served its purpose. Several generations of middle class families raised their kids in safety with friendly neighbors and decent schools. Then they leveraged up and moved out for the next generation to do the same. But this crew knows nothing except violence, dysfunction, and destruction. They could do what the predecessors did, but it's just not in their nature.

i grew up living at the 500 Block of E Vankirk It was safe to walk around then . That was in the late 1940-1950' I went off to the service in 1962 and mom and dad moved to a retirement home close by but very safe. Many reasons as to what happened including Section 8 housing , free to anyone who breathes. Rounding up all the usual suspects is too cold but, for sure the killers will be found quickly . I saw so many police I wonder how long it took to get there I know it's still 30- hour here...a lot happens in that time and police response times use to be below 10-15 so why the lack of response? This is in general idk how quickly the responders got there I'm just saying if we had more proactive officers not sitting around chatting things would change some.

I guess I expect the police to get into shape or the citizenry to grow some balls and take their community back...crimes don't happen in villages with neighbor hood watch and active community it's where the breakdown of such things these fester...it's either bad enough a gang unit needs to become brute squad and crack heads or it's not serious enough for overhanded gov so again said locala get off their butt...I mean I saw over a dozen officers and it takes maybe four just what are they doing? It's not like it's their fault but over the he last two or so years we have seen as mentioned 2 to 3x increase in response time lack of manning/budget cuts which surely help etc. Maybe they need a Sherrif who they can light a fire under his butt if he messes up idk...local communities should address it then
