Breaking Free: Ukraine Will Ditch Neocon Hawks, Strike Solo Peace with Russia!

Nicolai N. Petro, author of "The Tragedy of Ukraine" explains how the latest development on the battle field combined with the history of Ukrainian nationalism will lead to a process in which even the "Banderites" will want to strike a peace deal with Russia to preserve what is left of motherland-even against the will of the western neocon warmongers who have been wreaking havoc on Ukraine for the sole purpose of fighting a proxy-war with Russia. The great Ukrainian awakening is only a matter of time, and Russia knows it. The only question is how many more Ukrainian soldiers the nationalists are still willing to throw into their early graves before doing what should have been done in April 2022: a neutrality agreement and a true process of reconciliation. This tragedy must end and will end because at the end of the day, the neocons are willing to "fight to the last Ukrainian" but they have made it utterly clear that sacrificing their own is not on the menu. So wake up, Ukraine, and build a new future already without this poison that is the NATO neocon crowd.

This I agree, many in Crimea think of themselves as Russian as well as Ukrainian.. in fact I was told this story - one port worker was all packed to go to Ukraine when Russia annexed Crimea in 2014.. then a Russian officer asked him why he is going, he said I thought you want all Ukrainians leave the place.. when he was told that is not the case... he can choose to become a Russian citizen.. and was hinted he will even get Russian salaries. (which are much higher than Ukrainian salaries)... so the fellow immediately stopped packing, and went with the Russian officer to take up his old job at port...

A very insightful discussion, the scenarios expounded by professer Petro are the only logical way forward for Ukraine. It will be difficult however for the political classes in Kyiv to publicly acknowledge that they have been played by the US and its western allies which is effectively what serious negotiations with Russia would require. Professer Petro is quite correct In his assertion that the West can play no useful part in any future settlement. Indeed its intentions would almost certainly be nefarious.

However, I have a hard time believing the peoples of the Donbas & Lugansk regions, who indeed voted overwhelmingly for Russian citizenship/protection after the utter failure/betrayal of Minsk x2; who have been merciously targeted, abused & violently outcast for normal practice of their Russian culture & language; and who have also been outright murdered on daily basis directly by their 'brotherly-fellow' Ukrainians since 2014 right after the Maidan Coup... I find it difficult to believe they would ever want to or could actually trust in being a safe & welcomed to integrate back within the new, neutral 1-Ukraine ...🙏✌️💯

Not in a million years will they go back to those murderers. But coming to some sort arrangement with Rest-Ukraine IF Rest-Ikraine sees that they have been used and tricked and betrayed by the even worse murderers in the West? I definitely think they would (and should) do it, even if they have to hold their noses because of the nazi stench. Arrestovich has often talked about how Ukraine should basically switch sides over to Russia because the West, not Russia, is Ukraine's true enemy. Russia wouldn't exactly love it if Ukraine tried to actually tried to follow Arrestovich's advice this late in the Game, because they rightly think that the people in charge IN Ukraine are absolute scum, nazis, terrorists and murderers, they would very much want to see them get their richly deserved, harsh punishment, especially seeing as Russia was forced to spend so much lifes and treasure to crush these rotten bastards. But ultimately pragmatism would always win out on the russian side and they know perfectly well that for Russia too the West is the TRUE enemy. They also surely fully realize that strategically and diplomatically turning Ukraine around, Ukraine publicly demouncing it's treacherous western masters and basically becoming a potential attackdog for Russia instead of for the West would be a gigantic win for Russia and a titanic, unimaginable defeat and global loss of face and credibility for NATO. Obviously the Ukrainians would have to jump through a lot of hoops to prove it is serious about turning against the West.

That idea is never suggested by either Petro or Lottaz. As a matter of fact Kherson, Crimea, Donetsk & Lughansk are by law part of Russia, and cannot therefore become pawns in some peace proposal. My view, due to the military necessity, is that Russia will take, Odessa, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Zaporizhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Luhansk, Kharkiv, & Crimea, leaving a rump Ukraine. It is if Ukraine wants to be that RUMP UKRAINE that they will become neutral. Not to get occupied land back, but to keep anything at all. Putin is on record just recently that he will push the line of contact back to prevent missiles from reaching Russia proper.

Being Polish by ancestry, I have always known that America and the West will always try to pit the Slavic nations against one another as and to weaken or destroy them. And it's all about their need to control and exploit Eastern and Central Europe. Nothing else,! And yes, we Slavs are brothers, we can all understand one another just speaking our native languages. I'd say that about 70% of Russian, Polish, Ukrainian, Belarusian and Slovak languages contain the same or very similar vocabulary. My heart is bleeding when I see all these poor people, who speak the same language, kill each other, spurred hate and lies and fake promises.

I'm not as sanguine. The Ukrainian ultra-nationalists have passed into law that only groups speaking languages that are official languages of the EU will have their rights protected. Western Ukraine has now adopted into official law the beginnings of what will be the permanent outlawing of Russian culture, religion, and language, under the argument all of these are dangers to the safety of the state. This is only the beginning of a massive ethnic cleansing / ethnic erasure on the magnitude of what happened to ethnic Germans after World War 2. And the Baltic states I fear are sliding towards the same process. I believe at one point it would have been relatively easy to have negotiated Ukraine's membership in the EU but militarily being neutral similar to Austria, but the nationalists are making a strong argument that western Ukraine needs to be forcibly kept from joining the EU as well. The dynamics are resembling that of World War 1 where stupidly all sides decided to fight to the finish, destroying every single empire on the European continent. Every single one was mortally wounded, even in retrospect the British Empire. The United States regards itself as the winner no matter what happens because an excuse was given for blowing up the Nordstream gas pipelines. Germany may turn out to be the biggest loser, because Germany's project since the 1800s had been to use its business acumen to exploit Russia's resources.
@louise_rose
@louise_rose 7 месяцев назад
Largely true, but remember that "what one man sees as cooperation for mutual benefit , another man (or the media in another country) will see as "dependency or exploitation". The US always likes to describe any trade relationship, any military alliance where they are not taking a leading role as "exploitative" or "forced dependency" while their own relationships are always described in terms of "free trade deals", "first among equals", "friendly alliance" etc. Russia, China and Germany could well help each other's long-term economic growth but the US would have none of it; they always want the global axis of both economics, trade and politics to be placed across the North Atlantic, between themselves and the UK.

I don't think the Russian diplomacy is that sophisticated. It's just adults looking at a situation objectively and then saying thing that are rational; this is our redline, we told you that, it is a fair redline to draw but you ignore it so we have no choice but to do something about it. Now they are winning because they employed a sensible strategy and they have the upper hand to dictate their terms, which again are based on their redlines. It is the west that have lost all sense of diplomacy because they are so used to getting their way that they didn't have to practice diplomacy - compromises, treating other people's interests with respect, equal level of consideration etc. etc. It is the west that's being foolish that it made simple diplomacy look sophisticated.

The least countries in the world are considered democracies and even within the group of democracies there are huge differences regarding participation, freedom of each individual etc. A genuine partner could help to fight corruption instead of keeping it alive as it has been for quite some time. That could stop if the country is no longer a toy for global interests/geopolitics. There isn't any problem with the war, and the "failed narrative" ie some misinterpretation of Russian motives is a side issue of zero importance. What needs to be done is to have the war run to it's conclusion, as the Russians are currently doing. The Russian plan to defend it's security was correct and remains ethical. The Russian plan to fight in Donbas to protect Russian speakers against the Nazi influences in Kiev was/is correct & ethical. Even the Russian methodology of war, whereby they first did a demonstration influx of military & then withdrew to fight on the border is correct & ethical as it was a show of intention that gave Ukraine a motivation to drop the US baton and save itself. The Russians might appreciate some suggestions by Petro, if he had any that were more ethical or more effective than what they are doing, but he does not. In fact what is correct is that we SUPPORT the Russians in their fight against Nazi influence in Ukraine. Not neutrality, not a cease-fire. Not a peace under terms that would simply rearm Ukraine and re-infest it with US CIA influencers for a decade, so that an even more violent conflict would be inevitable. The US needs to be kept out of Ukraine permanently, and that means Russia has to completely re-engineer Ukraine by war into a neutral state, period. Talk about narrow & unproductive thinking - Pascal is an ostrich with his head in the sand and his guests NEVER see that simply put; Russia is right. Not just more powerful than Ukraine, but RIGHT.

Harmful rhetoric that makes the peace process and negotiations impossible and leads to endless confrontation. We must strive for a political order where Ukrainians and Russians could coexist as equal nations and equal cultures and have at least a minimal idea of mutual tolerance and acceptance of their own differences. You say that Western influence makes war impossible. No less than the cultural and heritage of the Russian Empire and the Soviet Union, which normalizes anti-Ukrainian racism, which is an even bigger problem than anti-Russian racism, because racism against Ukrainians is racism against a vulnerable ethnic group that lived as a minority without its own state for a long time. part of their own history. No one would argue against idea that Ukrainians were historically and now less successful than Russians. But thinking that because of this Russians have legitimate reasons to attack Ukrainians and push politics which weakened Ukrainians is as stupid as think that man should have right to attack woman and because females were less successful historically.

doesn't matter if Russia is right or not. what does matter is power. power as the ability to force its own will unto another. that's what US was doing from the beginning, since USSR's end. as long US is able to force Ukraine, EU, UK to threaten Russia, there cannot be an end to this conflict. as long US stays in power globally there is nothing that could "keep it out of Ukraine permanently". sound fancy the "re-engineering" of Ukraine by war into a "neutral state". but as long US is in power globally, there is no way this can happen. you can set your "period" as forceful as you will, doesn't matter. cause US remains still in power. that's why Russia is not only fighting on the battlefield in Ukraine but works on reshaping the global power structure as well. that's also why Russia is fighting a slow war of attrition, to give the shifting of the power structure enough time. there is no fast victory, never was although Russia has hoped there is still some reason left in the West. Russia realised, there isn't. that's why Russia has to take the long way, cause the short was always an illusion after the end of USSR.

@@xxvxxv5588 your statement that "anti-Ukrainian ra_ism.... is an even bigger problem than anti-Russian raci_m, because rac_sm against Ukrainians is rac_sm against a vulnerable ethnic group that lived as a minority without its own state for a long time" is based on a very biased western narrative. Ukrainians were/are not a "vulnerable ethnic group". When Ukrainian SSR was created by the Bolsheviks in early 1920s, the soviet government assigned it a territory that was larger than that occupied by Ukrainians/Ukrainian speakers - this is how Donbas became part of Ukraine. In 1954 they further expanded Ukraine by taking Crimea from the Russian SSR and "giving" it to the Ukrainian SSR. Under USSR, Ukrainian SSR was one of the most developed and prosperous "republics", much more prosperous than Russia. The soviets promoted Ukrainian language and culture. In 1991, when USSR dissolved, the population of Ukraine was 50 million. It was during 30+ years of independence that Ukraine's population shrunk to 44 million prior to the conflict; it will be smaller still once it is over. During 30+ years of independence, Ukraine also became one of the poorest de-industrialized countries in Europe. If this proxy war against Russia continues, seemingly to the satisfaction of our congressmen and administration, Ukrainians might indeed become a vulnerable ethnic group. Finally, the word "racism" is inapplicable in relations between Ukrainians and Russians. Both peoples belong to the same racial, ethnic, and linguistic group of Eastern Slavs. Their current dislike of each other is based in ethnic, cultural, state, and military hostilities rather than "raci_m."

Zelensky was voted in because He ran on peace platform with Russia, unfortunately USA and UK had different view !! So he lied to get in and Immediately went on war fotting and laundering of.billions of dollars!! Sold his soul for money like 98% would do!! Unfortunately even with all the villas and yachts he bought, he will have to watch over his shoulder for life!!! Hence why he wants to eliminate all the forces he has so noone goes after him for the destruction of Ukraine!!

So....this channel deleted my comments? I used no profanity, I didn't defame. I simply pointed out to another guy's comment (also deleted) his claim that present time is worse than anything in Cold War. I simply asked if he thought Berlin crisis & the subsequent airlift were "nothing" I asked if Cuban missile crisis was a big "nothing" I asked if he thought '73 mideast war...was "nothing" For those questions I get deleted. Wow! I'll be sure and spread the word about THIS channel, for sure

I would like to find another way to resolve the Ukraine conversation - partner mistrust. In Germany, the political situation is in favor of the current coalition and opposition parties like Merkel CDU I would like to find another way to resolve the Ukraine conversation - partner mistrust. In Germany, the political situation is in favor of the current coalition and opposition parties like Merkel CDU. The AfD is the only peace party that would hold peace talks with Russia. Putin also knows the AfD, which has concluded a cooperation pact with Putin's party. The campaign of the the German government Scholz has been exposed due to a false conspiracy against the political opposition It was exposed and hundreds of thousands of people were incited against the right or right-wing extremists and thus against the AfD without any evidence. Such government demonstration usually takes place tol totalitarian states.

What if: - The western countries did not arm Ukraine and did not support the openly nationalist government? - Ukraine kept it's neutrality and never tried to join NATO ? - Minsk agreements did not aim buying time for Ukraine to obtain a military power, but were implemented instead ? - West did not refuse to consider the Russian proposal for peace in Europe in December 2021 but rather took it in consideration ? Would the war start or not? Any ideas?
@raggmunken1958
@raggmunken1958 7 месяцев назад
War would not start as long as Ukraine do not seek to join EU and behave more like Belarus witch Putin has full economic and political control over. As in Belarus this means that democracy is not an option for Ukraine if they will have peace.
