That idea is never suggested by either Petro or Lottaz. As a matter of fact Kherson, Crimea, Donetsk & Lughansk are by law part of Russia, and cannot therefore become pawns in some peace proposal. My view, due to the military necessity, is that Russia will take, Odessa, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Zaporizhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Luhansk, Kharkiv, & Crimea, leaving a rump Ukraine. It is if Ukraine wants to be that RUMP UKRAINE that they will become neutral. Not to get occupied land back, but to keep anything at all. In 1954 they further expanded Ukraine by taking Crimea from the Russian SSR and "giving" it to the Ukrainian SSR. Under USSR, Ukrainian SSR was one of the most developed and prosperous "republics", much more prosperous than Russia. The soviets promoted Ukrainian language and culture. In 1991, when USSR dissolved, the population of Ukraine was 50 million. It was during 30+ years of independence that Ukraine's population shrunk to 44 million prior to the conflict; it will be smaller still once it is over. During 30+ years of independence, Ukraine also became one of the poorest de-industrialized countries in Europe. If this proxy war against Russia continues, seemingly to the satisfaction of our congressmen and administration, Ukrainians might indeed become a vulnerable ethnic group. Finally, the word "racism" is inapplicable in relations between Ukrainians and Russians. Both peoples belong to the same racial, ethnic, and linguistic group of Eastern Slavs. Their current dislike of each other is based in ethnic, cultural, state, and military hostilities rather than "raci_m."
